Weapon Retirement is bad.

Hey guys, So I probably won't play much Destiny until the FOMO content crap is actually gone, and won't recommend the game to anyone until then. But hearing about this weapon retirement idea because "it causes power creep" is a load of horseshit. people are just going to refarm the same rolls on a different skin if you mark them for retirement and lose the connection to the guns they like and have used for a long time... a lot of people have a "my weapon" weapon... a weapon they always consider first and will often find a way to make work. for me, it's my Infinite Paths 8 Pulse Rifle which i only recently replaced because it got a new release. For some, it's the Leviathan handcannon, or the breakneck auto rifle, the IKELOS shotgun. Weapon Retirement will remove this value we can give to weapons. having weapons become modular like Armor 2.0 won't work either (before people suggest it) One idea is to just introduce new weapons for their visual/audio aspects. Let weapons define themselves by feedback and feel. Another option is to rip the caps off the rolls and let anything roll anything else (obviously with some new rules around what rolls where so we don't get rampage + killclip etc.) figure it out, people will follow.

  • I haven’t got the inclination to grind anything elsewhere. They just gave us new weapons and tell us to bin them 🤣 the next load of shit we get will be nerfed to hell and then shelved after 9 months .
