I just watched the premiere chief and iunno about the light level advantage thingy. I have neither the time or the interest to grind power level as a dedicated pvp player.
My opinion
Light level advantage for trials is built for unskilled pve players to gain an edge over skilled pvp players. Bungie doesn’t care about their pvp players
I hope I’m just dumb and I misheard lightlevel advantage

Trials light levels WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE if trials stayed in the game... BUT.... it didn’t and all the pve players had an entire YEAR to get a power level edge over pvp players. Iron banner is never released right away on an expansion drop so all pve players have time to get an edge over pvp players every single time and then pvp players don’t want to play iron banner because they are at a literal damage disadvantage. Because all of the things in pvp that give you high light also include light levels and are always dropped a while after an expansion is released, the pvp players are forced to play pve. Pve players have never been forced to play pvp in order to do well in raids. You don’t have to go flawless to have an advantage in high pve stuff. We feel like we are forced to suffer through boring content and grind it over and over. It sacrifices so much of our time when we all wish we could be doing what we actually find fun, pvp, but if we choose to spend the little time we have playing the game for fun, us pvp players get an automatic extreme disadvantage under players that would normally get steamrolled by us. This is really frustrating . When I shoot a guy 3 times im the head with Austringer he should die regardless of how many times he has run through a stupid raid. I should not be dying from one punch from a striker titan. I’m usually a good player and I always am willing to help other people and spread positivity in the community but because I’m lower light I can’t do that right now and it honestly makes me really mad. It feels different than anything else when you hear how happy someone is when you get there flawless or to 5500 in comp. Because light level advantages exist, that cant happen right now. at least tone down how much of an effect light levels play on damage values. Keep in mind that my damage to others is reduced at the same time that their damage is increased so if you add both of those percentages together that is actually how much of a disadvantage a low light player is at, which can be very extreme for a low power gap. I encourage the developers to look into making it so either the high light players either don’t do more damage or don’t take any less damage. If one of these is fixed then it might help. if people still want light levels to be a part of it This may be a good compromise as well as releasing iron banner the week that an expansion drops so pvp players have a chance to get a light boost. No hard feelings just trying to contribute to this community. Have a good rest of your day

5 RepliesSo, you guys want high level comp, without having to play at a high level? Got it.
-
5 RepliesWah.... I’m 47, 2 kids and a real job.... my artifact is plus 21 this season.... grind you baby... I’m assuming these posts are all high school kids who can’t play until after school and have to goto bed early..
-
We got it guys, the Artifact won't help on Trials. And pinnacle gear doesn't influence much our light level.
-
3 RepliesI played trials back in d1, when I was was younger and had less responsibilities. I don’t have the time to grind my light all week, just so I can get matched up and stomped by some streamer who gets paid to play this game
-
Really the same can be said for god roll guns
-
True, this is not real competitive.
-
You get XP from bounties Shaxx has daily and weekly crucible bounties You play crucible I'm not seeing a problem here

6 RepliesTrials should be a pvp endgame event and absolutely should be power level enabled. We have enough PvP events to play at a "even" levels. PvP has very little to work towards, trials will now give something to work towards. Please don't dumb down trials before it even starts (again)

ChronusMax FTW 🙂

I don't care what they do with the artifact as long as supers have a limitation of only twice per 7 rounds for each player. No reason to turn trials into a super sh!tshow.

100% agree with you. Power Level & Artifact in Trials is a HUGE MISTAKE !!!

1 ReplyEdited by michael: 2/26/2020 4:38:05 AMYup can’t wait to lose to some guy at 117762837;738 light who doesnt get off the game, with uncapped light level it makes no sense whatsoever. Im a PvP guy but I very, very highly doubt that I will play trials. I am very confident that it is going to be so bad.

2 RepliesWasn't enabled last time?
-
4 RepliesFunny you assume Warlocks will be in Trials. Y'all know Hunters are over 80% of PvP players. 🤣
-
I agree to I think trails should be off players skills with primaries and disable supers and heavy weapons to make players actually try and power level shouldn't matter.

Edited by CeliaCats: 2/27/2020 11:57:50 AMBy the way your not actually the “shit” if all u did play is freelance comp
-
12 RepliesYep, you're dumb. Unskilled won't beat skilled regardless of power level.
-
3 RepliesLol your worried about Light level and not Snipers and their lack of flinch?

This move clearly shows Bungie’s disengagement from reality. They are so far up themselves it’s not funny. Zero Clue. Bungie be like - “play the game how we want it to be played or -blam!- off” Community - “We won’t play, this is outrageous” Also the Community - *plays, spends big $ in Eververse.

5 RepliesAlright some of u are literal foreheads so I’m gonna say this : In D1 there was a light level cap for trials. With the artifact u can amass high levels with no cap getting higher levels. Also I did say in my post that I have neither the time or the interest in power grinding. That saying if bungie allows pvp to be a viable way of getting light up, that would increase loot incentive and player drive. But rn I dunno. I don’t wanna another Iron Banner where I don’t have fun. In general I don’t like light level advantage playlists for pvp. Something just like the base elimination playlist is fine.

6 RepliesIn my personal opinion, light level being enabled in Trials isn’t that big of a deal. Trials is suppose to be the highest tier of content for PvP, just as raids are the highest tier for PvE. It wouldn’t make sense for power to be enabled for one, but disabled for the other. Although I don’t know for sure, I feel comfortable saying that Trials will likely reward Pinnacle gear (and if it doesn’t there’s still iron banner). This means you don’t have to step out of PvP to level in it. It’s not meant to give PvE players an upper hand, it’s meant to give A drive for completion, and I drive to play the game, to level up, and to reach the pinnacle of Destiny.

ALL I WANT TO SAY IS THEY DON'T REALLY CARE ABOUT US! ALL I WANT TO SAY IS THEY DON'T REALLY CARE ABOUT US!

Light level needs to exist, but they have to do it right. There needs to be a cap. After 10 levels above the other player, no more multiplier. Or get rid of it entirely and put a light cap on people.

...<SNIP>... Light level advantage for trials is built for unskilled pve players to gain an edge over skilled pvp players. Bungie doesn’t care about their pvp players ...<SNIP>...
Light advantage rewards dedicated D2 players -- the more time you put into the game, the greater the benefit. Light advantage will also minimize the impact of freshly created FTP accounts running cheats + hacks.

2 RepliesYes trials is coming back. The same trials people loved that was always power enabled.
