You might want to search through the Destiny Reddit and search for sherpas. Even if a carry isn't offered there is usually tons of free advice on builds, tactics and playstyles. If your current warlock loadout's the one you're using in pvp (talons of the eagle + coldheart + hammerhead), it's not making it any easier: - Hammerhead's a great heavy, that's good. - 150 rate of fire (RPM) scouts are more often suboptimal than not. High zoom makes hitting shots up close harder and 150 RPM hand cannons still kill you as fast as you do them. - Trace rifles are suboptimal. They don't kill folks any faster than a good primary does + you need really good tracking aim to use them well which can be hard for lotta folks. I can't help you with your gameplay without seeing you play. But I can give some loadouts tips that at least have a chance to make your life easier: I'm assuming lower reflexes due to age make you a more reactionary, passive player than someone who rushes in full aggro and corrects on the fly with their high speed. This can be utilized. Built a loadout that benefits from this and gives you a chance to counter those rushers: [b]The primary:[/b] Pulse rifles are very good primaries with more range and forgiveness than hand cannons or 150 scouts. The aggressive frame pulses (4-bullet burst) 2-burst any resilience on headshots and is very forgiving; you can have 2-3 bodyshots with the rest being headshots out of the 8 shots in those bursts to kill. Vigilance wing is another very good pulse. It's like an aggressive frame but has even more forgiveness on the headshots per burst -ratio, [b]and it 2-bursts any resilience as well.[/b] The best part is that both [i]aggressive frames and Vigilance wing have better time to kill than 150 RPM hand cannons[/i]. Using them is not a real disadvantage. They also have more range then hand cannons, which are the most popular primaries right now. Using primaries like these let you play a bit more back, that in turn gives you more leeway to react to things coming your way. However with the comparably low zoom scopes you can still hit shots more easily at closer ranges. They're versatile enough. [b]The special:[/b] Pulses work really well on medium + long ranges. So a special for short range would be good. Either a normal max range precision or aggressive frame shotgun is a good pairing. Not for shotgun rushing, but for playing defensively with it against the shotgun rushers. With that usage, Lord of Wolves is also a very good choice. It has more range than a normal shotgun, so you can let folks rush into you while you're standing outside of normal shotgun range and then kill them with LoW before they finish their rushing. [b]Subclass:[/b] You have a warlock. Arguably the best subclass [i]for passive defensive play[/i] is middle tree void, if you have the exotic contraverse hold and can spec into 100 discipline for max grenade uptime. Then you use contras with handheld supernova for almost quaranteed close-range one hit kills (OHKs). Contraheld (contras + handheld) is great defensive tool. It gives you a 40% damage reduction while you're charging / holding the charged grenade and handheld's OHK range is around 16-17 meters, which is double the normal shotgun range. Contraheld works a lot like LoW in that it counters someone rushing you really well, and compliments a passive playstyle in doing that. Handheld is also not aim-intensive especially with mouse. Point it in their general direction and release. 100 discipline gets your grenade CD to 30 seconds and with contraheld kills it goes down further to anywhere between 10-20 seconds. You'll basically have it available on-demand when someone rushes you. - With all that, I'm not saying these are tools you HAVE to use to do well. They might not even suit your playstyle at all. But they are tools that might compliment your playstyle from the information you've provided and could be worth trying out. Finally, I do feel your pain. I'm just knocking on 30s door myself so my reaction times are still good, but I've always preferred playing on really low DPI / sensitivity (PC / mMnKB player) for the extra precision. This does sometimes make me feel slow when compared to some of the really fast players who retain their accuracy regardless of their high DPI / sensitivities. But there are ways to make your chances better even if you are a slower player. A lot of it starts from your loadout, playstyle and general gamesense. Well this was a rant. Listen I agree with your sentiments, PVP is and will always be tedious for non PVP players. Yes it can be toxic, draining and outright unplayable. A couple of tips. Check for the best times when you play, most sweats stick to certain times. Use the cheesy loadouts, it helps, erentil, LOW, anything to get you the win, dont listen to naysayers, it is what it is. Twitch is a great option. Keep checking the fireteam finders on the destinyapp, a lot of streamers do carriers or recovs to promote their channel. I do not suggest a recovery (someone else playing on your acount), since there is a risk. The main reason they do it, is to carry people as their main accounts are already at legend. Do not get bogged down into comp, playing while youre winning, stop for the day when you're losing. Sorry but the one point I have to disagree with you is weapons not being exclusively earned in PVP. The recluse is definitely a nice weapon, but I assure you, there are so many better weapons for PVE you can run in that slot. Its a pvp pinnacle drop from many seasons ago. Again im not dissing your point by no stretch of the imagination, Ive been where you have 3 seasons ago until i got into PVP.

There is nothing bungie can do. The game is played the same for everyone, no exceptions. There are tons of clans out their recruiting, some are pvp based.
