I’m not saying I like it but I understand it

There have been a lot of complaints about the impending nerf to everything good special weapon. Especially some of our favorite weapons like Izanagi’s Burden (hope I spelled that right). But I understand it because when one build dominates high level activities sure it’s nice to find common ground among high level players. But it is not inclusive to newer or less grinded out players. Sure I may have wendigo, sure I may have the Izanagi’s with the catalyst but what about others? What about the people who don’t have that? Are they liable to be kicked because they don’t have the weapon? Is this just another must have g horn and x clears from D1? So yes I get why they are nerfing our favorite builds and I don’t like nerfs in general. But if it is to eliminate build elitism then I understand why bungie is doing this.

      • The problem wouldn’t be as bad if other weapons weren’t garbage at damage. I don’t understand toxicity but i do understand suggested weapons that you should most likely run within a raid. If Bungie actually bothered to buff other weapons as to where they could compete with other weapons, LFG would possibly be a lot more Open Minded.

        • Yep, that. Also, it's boring using the same setup every time. So we get change and everyone moans. I don't understand the moaning. Just use what next comes about.

          • “Build elitism” has: 1) always existed, 2) does exist now and, 3) will always exist in the future. The weapons aren’t the problem, when it comes to elitist attitudes towards builds in raids and other end-game activities. By nerfing, all you do is switch one “elitist build requirement” for another “elitist build requirement”. Only one thing will fix the need for nerfs, and that is in Bungie’s control. And, It’s the need to build creative encounters, bosses, mechanics, etc... that demand build diversity. If Bungie wants to build a static bullet sponge of a boss, then we are going to dump the most damaging bullet we can in the shortest amount of time allowed. All day long, every day, and probably twice on Sunday. I remember very clearly the day I entered my first matchmade ffxiv raid. My job was dps, and I pumped everything I could into the boss, which drew the boss’ aggro from my tank to me. I died almost immediately followed by our healer very quickly as I was standing right by the healer when I died, then everybody else, one by one. Ppl immediately began leaving the raid with only one message to me in the chatbox, from the tank, which was: “You steal it, You kill it” Which means, if you’re not an mmorpg person, that if you’re dps and you do so much damage that you pull the aggro away from the party’s tank, then you dam better kill it, bc you just ensured an entire party wipe if you don’t. Encounters, bosses, environments, etc... all need more diversity in design, than just a simple standalone boss that you dump tons of ammo into, with a few stand here/there party mechanics.
