Christopher Barrett was the lead when we go the go fast update, forsaken. The best Destiny 1 update the April update. He literally is the person in charge when the game is actually fun and engaging.
Nobody has done more to kill the population of this game than Luke Smith. More nerfs coming,- complete assault to the way we play. In every way is being nerfed with nothing to make up for it. Since shadowkeep Destiny has just been do bounties and get nerfed. He is the biggest reason the game is soooo boring and going to continue to be boring.
I vote for a change in leadership.

3 RepliesEdited by Deadly Peanut: 2/23/2020 7:57:51 AMperhaps the company is trying to kill off the game lets them move on to other projects or they're trying to push out the older player base and just sit back and let a small revenue stream come on as FTP population buy pay store stuff, while they ignore the game and work on new projects

6 RepliesEdited by Niinja Slayer: 2/22/2020 7:41:01 PMBarrett has designed all the launches we have liked and Smith has designed all the launches we haven’t liked. Except for TTK.

1 ReplyTlw did not need a nerf on console just because it was too easy to use on pc. Who the f*ck uses that kind of logic?
-
2 RepliesNo wonder Paul Tassi (Forbes) plays and writes so many articles on Destiny. Probably thinks he's in with a shout on getting the lead if Luke ever got booted.
-
37 RepliesI’ve said it before and here I’ll say it again. An ex-game journalist should not be a lead designer for a video game, especially one as large as destiny.
-
5 RepliesI don’t know about that, but I could sure use being excited over a TWAB for once instead of pure rage. That hasn’t happened in months and months. I remember the exact TWAB that began this long sadness train for me, the Luna/NF nerf. So basically it’s been 3 straight seasons of non stop “how can we make players less powerful, the game harder, and add nothing to it, ALL at the same time?”

2 RepliesMeanwhile back at Bungie headquarters....... Luke Smith is still marinating in a hot tub full of vienna sausages while chain smoking virginia slims.

3 RepliesEdited by El Mebaj: 2/22/2020 6:54:55 PMLuke Smith is trying to compensate because his girlfriend's boyfriend is not buying him another Stadia.

2 RepliesI like TTK way more than forsaken tbh. TTK was my shit

But.. but... content is hard to make!!

1 ReplySeems like forsaken was a fan favourite like myself. Now the game reminds me of guild wars 2. Guild Wars 2 adopted a system where they release a new soap opera fanfic every 3 months and a new gimmick plus reskins. The majority of most update notes is the gem store additions. I wonder if destiny 2 is being modeled after that.

https://youtu.be/6C26qHS5qnQ?t=575 Yeah I totaly remember being able to change all my non exoitic weapons elements Yep.. Its not like thats only a special feature of... 3 weapons? all of which are exotics? And armor was the thing we had some mod for?... Nah im crazy

Clearly whoever is in charge at bungie is making some horrible mistakes with eververse being the only thing constantly refreshed each season. Why play if the guns you grind for are just nerfed because streamers are beating raids in 5 minutes? Why should I invest my time into this game anymore? They need to separate nerfs and buffs from pve and pvp, console and pc.

Agreed, Luke Smith is the worst person possible other than jon Wisnewski or however you spell his name, to be in charge of the franchise.
-
Just check his video for wired he does not know what Destiny even is...
-
Luke Smith has been in charge of all of D2.

2 RepliesEdited by draycole: 2/23/2020 7:07:19 AMDestiny 1 really fulfilled the power fantasy. When I was level 400 getting 2 shot by a level 3 thrall I really fantasized about being powerful

3 RepliesEdited by JazzyPaladin477: 2/23/2020 12:44:41 AMRandom bungie contractor (in a ‘Smithers voice): “Sir...all special weapons have been nerfed to the ground just as you commanded. Players will have no choice but to go back to dual primaries!” Luke smith (in Mr. Burns voice): “eeeeeeexcellent...”

I completely disagree. It's the season of loading screens and holding x or a.

Dave Samuel = fun and excitement

The whole thing stinks.

As much as I dislike the current game direction, I believe we need to take in a few other factors here. The business decisions above Luke Smith's head have taken its toll on the franchise. Splitting with Activision, taking on publishing, taking Chinese money and projects and looking at making movies now, have diluted this franchise and limited any true game direction other than reskinning old content. So we'll have to wait and see maybe another year for the company to evolve and release its own work with Destiny 3.
