Honestly, I love this game and the friendships I've made. I'm not going to abandon the game all together, but just Bungie, DMG, Cozmo or whoever may be looking - I'm done grinding, I'm done chasing things. You keep making gear that makes us feel powerful, that we are becoming legend, and then you just pull the rug out from under us.
I have my armor. I have decent weapons. Screw it - no more pinnacle chasing, no more ritual weapons, no more grinding for god rolls. I'll play because the base game is fun and to help my friends, but as far as a looter shooter goes you [Bungie] have officially killed any incentive for me to get loot.
Congratulations
ps. this is just the beginning, i can't wait to read about all the other nerfs to our exotics and sublcasses next week.
I’ll put a comparison out there. Starcraft 2 had put out balance updates fairly frequently, yet never (rarely) ever had this many people pissed anytime something would get nerfed or tweaked. The difference? People put in time for these weapons or items in Destiny rather than characters and upgrades that are available to everyone that Starcraft or many other games have done. So naturally, that’s a pretty good slap in the face. This cycle has happened before with Bungie, and will happen again.

You keep making gear that makes us feel powerful, that we are becoming legend, and then you just pull the rug out from under us.
We are always hesitant to make changes to things that players have spent a lot of time earning. But at the same time, we will always strive to make changes to keep improving the health of the game. The team believes that the changes to Snipers and GLs are necessary to give other weapons a chance to be more viable choices. We will continue to monitor player feedback once the changes are live and consider your input in future balance updates.

18 RepliesBungies philosophy applied to a parent. Dad - Hey son do you want to play with this train set? Son - No thanks dad, I'm having fun with this basketball. *Dad grabs the basketball and pops it* Dad - Now son doesnt that train set look like it'll be fun?

Actually, there is a VERY valid point to continuing initial weapon release buffs/power, to eventual nerfs: Bungie is continuing their dedication to non-Dedicated servers, and creating cartoon level games. So it's FAR easier transitioning you to watered/nerfed/cartooned gaming and continue to bank on your ignorance that you're systematically being conditioned to minimal gaming. And the more successful they are at this; the less likely there'll be a community-wide demand for them to sell Destiny to a major infrastructure like Google, that OWNS their own top-performing servers around the world, and can EASILY bring back The Taken King level of programming and the competitive 60fps. Hell; Google could easily integrate VR before the competition. But, unfortunately; the community has been so successfully brainwashed into these diminishing return patterns, that they'll just fall easier into the easiest path... downward further. So just beg Bungie to buy the rights to the bubble gun from Just Cause 2, and we can all Unicorn and Glitter together, forever. Look!.. a rainbow!!

3 RepliesFor an "open world loot shooter" this game is feeling more and more restrictive. This game to me was meant to be a fun sandbox of crazy load outs, challenging and engaging game play, desirable loot, and a PvP mode full of unique rewards and incentives. This game right now as it stands now has none of the things I had hoped to see listed. I can spend days talking about all of these things and how jacked up it is but I think we all know the various issues by now. However I do feel that an "open world loot shooter" should give you the freedom to play in whatever load outs you want and experiment some. This game does NOT allow that. Destiny put them selves in such a huge constricting predicament. Between artifact mods, barrier champions (which is still one of the laziest things I have ever seen added to this game), elemental shields, nerfs, etc. We are literally forced to use a handful of weapons while 98 percent of the loot pool is now useless. I get we can form a team and strategy as to who runs what but at the end of the day I kind of just want to run the crap I like to run and use the gear I grinded for and not worry about a barrier mod or a nerf that takes the balls off of said weapon. I feel the game is literally like this is how you are GOING to play this. Take it or leave it.

Snipers are the go-to for most encounters because getting close to the boss is usually a death sentence. Do they really think we're going to shoot bosses like Argos and the Sanctified Mind with Fusion Rifles and Shotguns? Unless they change the boss behavior and encounter design while buffing other weapon types, nothing is going to change. They'll just screw up the next top damage options in 3 months anyway. We're going backwards.

9 RepliesIf you're not happy then don't buy the season passes. I'm not buying anymore. Talking with your wallet is the only way to get through to this company.

Imagine the game that could’ve been had without PVP and constant nerfing to achieve a “balance”.

1 ReplyThe problem is not that we use the same 2 weapons for everything because they are "good" it's because everything else SUCKS so if they just buffed some things or made champion modes applicable on exotics than everyone's loadout wouldn't be the same......JS

I hate to say it. But unless you get the PC version of this game, then I would suggest console players to find another game. Its just going to get worse and worse as time goes on.

6 RepliesThe thing that Bungie is trying to do is "force" loadouts onto all of the players by nerfing the most used ones. The problem is multilayered: - you grind for pinnacle weapons that have some muscle, therefore becoming popular - you find "hidden" exotics that are not only fan favorites, are/ were extremely popular - there are weapons that suit certain playstyles due to map designs, bosses, and endgame activities - other weapons in the game aren't useful, and therefore pushes aside (auto rifles) ...and people are SICK of these constant nerfs. Nerfing a weapon won't change the fact that a stomp mechanic can OHK, or add mechanics that are broken can drive fireteam and solo players crazy (the multi teleporting taken captains, the machine-gun like ball of darkness with ZERO cooldown from taken knights), or the ever popular bullet sponge bosses. It makes the playerbase feel disrespected for the time and effort put into this game who grind for these rewards. Continuing to nerf useable, pertinent weapons will eventually dry up the player population. It makes players not want to go for that "ritual" (watered down version of pinnacle) weapon, or that crucible quest weapon that is most sought after, because in time, it will become weaker, and then, vaulted. Yes, there are some weapons that should be nerfed, because those weapons actually can effect overall gameplay (telesto😂), but this parade of nerfs is dragging this game back to D2 Y1 status, where it takes a clip of auto rifle ammo to kill a dreg, or scout rifles that need to hit a red bar 8 times out of a magazine of 11, or grenade launchers that have barely a blast radius.

19 RepliesIts not a looter shooter. Its a nerf and neuter.

If you don’t understand the ebb and flow of balance changes then this isn’t the game for you. Things have been power creeping for a long time. Big or common nerfs were destined to take place.

2 RepliesEdited by Spawn Of Apathy: 2/21/2020 8:23:30 PMThis community can never agree on what Bungie should do to Destiny. People cry for nerfs all the time. People cry when the sandbox and the meta hasn’t changed in too long, or involves weapons and weapon types they don’t want to use. People cry that even PVE it feels like you have to have the same load outs all the time, because certain things are so powerful and making the game easy. Bungie makes chances to find a better balance, to shake up the meta, and people in the community cry. Every time a shake up happens there are people that like it, don’t really care either way about it, and those that really hate it. People cry that there’s no point, because they have all the god rolls they need. Then when the sandbox is changed they cry that their god rolls are not the god rolls they once were and now may need to farm/grind for new god rolls.

2 RepliesI agree with many of the adjustments in the upcoming patch but the sniper nerf is a gross case of Bungie telling its customers how they’re supposed to enjoy themselves. It makes less than no sense to penalize rational play. If Bungie wants to take snipers out of play, design a boss encounter that moves quickly and often.

Edited by Chubbums: 2/21/2020 8:03:38 PMBungie is doing anything to extend time spent in game. They don't bother fixing the tower load times because it inflates the overall time players spend in game. Same with donating fractaline or buying materials, they try to squeeze every second they can from you. Also all these nerfs are because people are burning too fast through their activities for their liking. The less time spent on destiny the worse it looks to their investors. You guys aren't subtle anymore.
-
The only time Bungie bothers to make big positive changes is when population numbers drop drastically like they did before Forsaken. It's impossible to communicate with them through words, money always talks louder.
-
4 RepliesI find browsing the forums to be much more satisfying than playing the actual game.

Even Forbes came out saying the nerf is bad. SMH
-
"We want to put the power back into the players hands, let them play the way they want", all we get are mods that force specific loadouts & after this weeks Twab, nerfs to make you use the weapons they want you to
-
We spend literally hours, or even days grinding for the perfect roll or pinnacle weapon, only to get them neutered by Bungie lmao, absolutely no point in grinding for anything anymore.

They don't want us playing there game anymore. They are burnt out with Destiny, they want us all to quit so they can make something new. If they cared or listened to feedback, then they wouldn't go though with nerfing snipers.
