I took a 2 month break from Destiny 2 and came back. I'm enjoying the game now. I've have been playing this religiously since Curse of Osiris and sometimes you do need a break.
Enjoy another game! Play something you've been meaning to play/try out.
Let's be honest, we're all going to be coming back to Destiny 2 at some point.

Be honest you only took a break because this season is utter trash. You otherwise can't control yourself enough because of FOMO.

Be honest? Im never coming back to D2. Neither are the majority of players I used to run with.
