Problem Reading Game Content

I get 'Problem Reading Game Content, verify integrity of game files" all the time, and I do not have a steam_appid.txt file to delete. Are there any other ways to solve this problem?

  • I have found my problem, it was SATA cable. I look on Event Viewer>System and there was a lot of Disk warning event id 153, which means the hd is taking a lot of time to read files, after a research, i found it could be SATA cable, i re-checked my cable, i tighten it up and Destiny is working now!

  • Hi there, Thanks for reaching out. We are currently investigating this issue. Some players report they have fixed this issue by following these steps: 1. In the Steam Games library, right click Destiny 2 and go to Properties. 2. Click Local Files then Browse Local Files to open your Destiny 2 directory. 3. Remove all files in this folder EXCEPT "Packages." 4. Then verify the integrity of Destiny 2 game files. Some have also reported that swapping to a different language and swapping back helps.

    • Just to be clear, I've cleared the cache, uninstalled completely using both steam and 3rd party uninstaller, and cleared my download cache. All allow me to play for a good 30 mins - 2 hours before throwing the error again.
