What happend with clans? It was supposed to be this big new thing to the game. And it turned out to be nothing really. Half the time I meet people and who have never done a raid and or master night fall. Because there clans never on.
Clans has not gotten any kind of update since the launch of D2 from bungie.
No aggjusment to size all either allow more people in your clan. Or a linkup/sister system to pare your clan with other clans. So that you have a bigger pool of people to play with.
No update to the flags. There has been no new designs, pictures, shapes, colors. Nothing. Since launch. That's crazy to me. I mean keep people interested. Keep updating things like that to allow them to continue to tweak and shape there idea of what they want there clan to be. to many things in D2 just kinda get left by the way side and forgotten.
All clans are now is a flag collecting mechanism. And what for? We keep the staffs. That have no perks, no cook features we can add to or current season. That seems like a missed opportunity.
And Hawthorne is just a bounty post . No real dialogue. No weapons, no gear. No on going story. You could have given hear 4 or 5 clan weapons. With or logos. And some uniqe clan armor. That gave pve perks when playing with your clan.
Maybe a exotic clan bond we could earn at the end of the season. And a exotic clan sparrow with or logos and colors.
Look at the farm and how empty it sits. Only used by new players. But ounce you hit a level cap. Psh... it's a ghost town havent been back in years..
Why not revamp that social space add some underlings for hawthorn. With there own gear, weapons bounties sparrows emblems. And clan lore to hunt down.
Why not add a shooting rang to the farm where you could test out new weapons and put in a order every week or two for a new gun. Like gun week in d1?????
Why not add a clan in game bounty board where player could walk up to it and post a head liner for there clan. it would allow people to browse clans in game and join.
And why not add a new mode that's clan related? Like the iron banner, or gambit, or sparrow racing? That comes to the farm like the iron banner comes around .
But its clan vs clan. Maybe even... vehical heavy battle filed like in d1. For some kind of big prize with like 3 runner up prizes.
I mean the possiblity are endless. Yet the farm and hawthorn and clans. Just sit there continuing to grow dust. Such a wasted addition to the game and such a wasted social space.
Growing that area into clan hQ, and offering different armor and weapons, and bounties and sparrows. And even clan engrams would be so much sweeter. Social spaces need to feel unique and hold there meaning through the years . Like the tower and the reef in d1.
Introducing more or hawthorns clan to fill that space . Offering emblems, and lore, and maybe even golden age clan, scavenger hunts. Sounds alot more fun then what we have now.
Clans need to be worked on a bit add some story to it and build a better place for it then just hawthorn over in her corner in the Tower. At least that's my opinion. LET THE HATE ..... BEING 🙄

The one thing wich probably never be upgraed is destinys social part. They just dont want to put work in it.

But I agree, make clans useful. I kind of like the idea of having allied sister-clans you can roll around doung clan-bounties with. Also more clan-bounties!

1 ReplyLike most things in this game, it's been half-assed.

I would like a more shared clan experience, where I can donate a small amount to my foundling clanmates

1 ReplyWhat few members I have left have talked about the clan feature a few times now. It would be nice to have the ability to fuse clans together, letting one absorb the other. It would also be nice to have better clan representation in the game. Imagine going against a six stack and you see their clan flag show up on the player intro sequence for Crucible. That would be a neat feature. Maybe a feature where if you earn an Ascendant Shard, it gives one masterwork core to each of your clan members that can be picked up from Hawthorne. The clan feature isn't a bust, Bungie. You just have to make it interesting and rewarding enough

The migration to Steam killed clans for PC. Discord is the only real clan utility app for PC's these days.

This is great and all, but this is the problem with 90% of what’s wrong in destiny. It’s not well thought out/fleshed out.
