My symmetry has been done for a month, yet I'm 130+ activities away from EV
Why was the Catalyst unlock for Eriana's Vow such a grind fest but Symmetry was completed fairly quickly from playing the game the way I do every week?
I didnt run any more or any less strikes between the 2 seasons, I cant believe that I'm still chipping away at the one from last season.
I have a feeling that the season 10 chase weapon will be completed before it also.
________________________________________________
Edit: I grinded countless strikes to get buzzard, I also grinded enough gambit to get exit strategy and Python, no I wasn't using Eriana's Vow as much as I should have.
I dont like crucible, dont care for gambit, most people I know that got the catalyst done are pvp players.
If only the 9036 heroic public events I've completed, heroic adventures, Flashpoint, Lost Sectors, nightmare hunts, Pit of Heresy, or raids I've done, or the amount of Altar of Sorrows I've done to complete the waves upon waves triumph counted toward the progress....
I get that there was a boost last season that I didn't capitalize on but come on... 4 strikes to get 1% in season 9 is crazy.
-
380 now? I'm just letting it go. But we lost the catalyst booster at the end of the season so it going slow
-
1 Replyand if i remember correctly, if you don't finish the progress for Eriana's this season - it will reset when Dawn ends....
-
Mine is still at 0% cause IDGAF.

Every season they make about 4 hours of content but they want you to play 40 hours or more per season. So they give you an exotic for free with a catalyst that requires you to grind old shit mindlessly with the knowledge that if you don't complete it that season it will be much harder. People need to refuse to play what isn't fun for them. It's the only way to make Bungie change. Stop buying cosmetics with real money too.
-
And to think I DID that. I ran 100 Strikes after reaching Omega Catalyst Booster. Using Eriana's Vow the entire way. For a whole week I grinded at that. Worst week of my life LOL. Now this one is going by so much nicer cause all I gotta do is run a strike with any guns I want and I get progress yeah boy. So much nicer than what Eriana's Vow needed. To actually be equipped to gain progress. That was a big oof.
-
Even within its season the progression was crap. They removed Vex Offensive from making the most progress and switched it with gambit prime. Whereas symmetry gets a big chunk from sundial.
-
I get + 1 for every strike and crucible. I get +2 for every gambit prime. I’m at 363/400. I’m not actively trying to do it. (ordeal doesn’t count towards completions). I don’t run regular gambit so I don’t know.
-
I really don't get these catalyst quests, you still have to get kills after the quest, I would just put the catalyst in the season track, it's that simple.
-
Edited by Ardour: 2/18/2020 11:19:24 AMThese catalysts are BS. I think Bungie has a division where people tryin to figure out how to make people drop the game. Its all about "do fckin 100 strikes/crusibubulame or whatever". Ive found my self at that point where Im ready just to pay extra for a gun or catalist since my time, I would spend grinding that shit, is more valuable.
-
Too bad it’s a much Better gun
-
I had the opposite. I was at halfway point and then my symmetry basically caught up not too long after the vow. Probably helps that I do weeklies and gambit usually takes me a few runs to finish
-
Lol Erianas catalyst. I totally forgot about that gun. They literally ground it out of existence for me.
-
Great game design though don’t you think.
-
5 Replies4 strikes for 1 percent? I got like 2 percent per strike
-
6 RepliesBecause its last season's catalyst. You should of done it in season. Im in the same boat btw. It is what it is bud, best start grinding
-
1 ReplyBecause you did not do it during last season with the season pass buffs to make it faster. This season's season pass had buffs to make Symatrey quest faster ....
-
Worst grind ever
-
Yup - i play everyday, crucible, gambit....and I'm at 300/400 on Eriana Vow cataltst
-
3 RepliesIt’s because the catalyst boost is gone
-
Play momentum control.
-
2 RepliesYou know the grind is to much when someone who has made it to 1008 light level is complaining about it!
-
13 RepliesYeah, I'm on 100/400. I have managed to get the mida catalyst in that time. How can something take so long.
-
14 RepliesYour 1008 light you clearly have the time
-
I’m not even worried about it for myself. It will finish when it finishes. I don’t even really use the weapon.
-
7 RepliesI’ve only just completed mine. The secret is to complete it during the season the exotic drops so as to make full use of the catalyst season pass boosters. Symmetry was done in a day or two but Erianas Vow took up until yesterday because it no longer receives the catalyst boost. Basically you are forced to complete the catalyst during the season it drops or complete a tonne of activities to make progress out of season.
-
Same with me as progression on the vow slowed down considerably as it was basically 1 point per match as it wasn’t like that before. I just recently completed it and to start another grind to complete the catalyst... not right now. I’ll save that for later when I’m bored.
