Why is it not available? It’s not much different to 920 hero.... you certainly wouldn’t need a mic for strategy comms
-
I’m on board as long as they do 2 things to make you eligible to enter a 950+ MM NF. 1) You must be within 5 light of the recommended level 2)You must have at least one of the corresponding Mods to enter matchmaking. This will cut down on some of the ppl joining just solely looking to be carried. Yes blueberries can still be bad but at least this forces them to contribute to the End Game and not just there taking up a slot. It will still be a crap shoot but though. Some ppl have no business running them and they know it. But it won’t stop them from trying.

This would help for 100K. If you get a bad team...fail...then just try again. I would think more often than not, you get a descent team.

8 Replieslack of social features = bad game design solution: play better games which do have matchmaking instead
-
Funny thing is this is a multiplayer game but many people learn solo this content because it’s such a pain in the ass to get a group together. That should be a pretty obvious indication that end game social features are messed up.

4 RepliesWe really need a 'smart ' matchmaking system that can see if there is a right mix of power and loadout and the system will flash with a message if requirements are not meant: flashes *your fireteam must have at least one anti-barrier weapon equipped* etc.
-
Agree!!!!! So should 99.9% of things in this game, no mic needed “just do your job”.
-
1 ReplyHell yes, the hero NF ordeal is way too easy and gets boring super fast 😑👎
-
And matchmakin could easily let people in only if they have all types of ammo, you need for the NF. It like easy peasy to do. They did similar things with vanilla prestige raids. Cant see a problem.
-
we want 980 matchmaking. lol

5 RepliesEdited by Khalith: 2/17/2020 7:56:26 PMI’d rather just have matchmaking and if the party isn’t working I can always just leave and find another one. Also, they could add some restrictions to the queue system. In ffxiv you can’t queue unless you’re a certain item level, they could very easily add a similar concept to this game: “To queue for this content you must have the following mods (barrier, unstoppable, etc.) equipped. Note: once queued you are unable to change equipment and will be unable change equipment in the nightfall.”

8 RepliesEdited by juppstrunz911: 2/19/2020 11:25:31 PMNailed it. Never needed to talk to someone on 950. There was never a problem. Mm should be available. Meanwhile everyone also knows to bring mods. Would save some time then instead doing it with some strangers from Lfg with nomic anyway. I do even 980 NF and 980 Nightmare Hunt with Strangers from LFG with no mic. The only thing where mm would not work is Raid for everything else it would be fine. LFG is nothing else just that you need to bother with some App instead of the comfort of mm.

You dont need a mic for 980. Just slow methodical teamshooting and skipping all the unnecessary parts. It's just one more thing to rub everyone the wrong way. I dont know about all the MMOs out there, but FF14 has matchmaking for every activity once you level up (power up) sufficiently and it works. Whoever is calling the shots at Bungie for game direction has no idea what theyre doing.
-
It should only be an option. Too many times l have done lfg nightfalls with people who do not know anything about champion mods or just have the wrong mod on and burns. The only way l would ever want MM for the 950 is if the game didn't let people under 940 search and if the game forced those who don't have the mods to equip them or they wouldn't be able to search or start the nightfall. Comms for the 950 is certainly not needed. This game punishers solo players big time and it's something l don't see Bungie changing at all. Prime engrams and Exotic engrams should both give out +1 to +2 as well just to help those solo players.

1 ReplyI’ve seen too many dumb dumbs on the 920 to think that 950 would be good. I will say adding an “optional” matchmaking would allow those willing to roll the dice with randos the option and those willing to LFG a fire team that option also. Basically a win win for all types of players.
-
Edited by EARWAK3R: 2/19/2020 1:44:53 AMThey should put matchmaking in, but the mm director toggle shouldnt unlock unless you have a champion mod equiped. I think that would be a fair compromise. I did an easy 980 earlier on my lock, got 180k with 2 guys from lfg. No mics, so i dont think mic matters much.

I agree, way way too many activities don’t have match making. I rarely play the raid content because I don’t want to bother with LFG, and that’s fine, those are extra complicated 6man activities. But strikes are the quintessential 3-man Pickup game and the Nightfall should fall in-line with that. If the argument is that the highest levels are too complex because of all the mods then just rework the mods. If you want to use LFG you can, and it surely increases your chance at success. Match making won’t change that, it just gives casual players more options.

Edited by Jedi Merc76: 2/18/2020 11:08:15 PMThanks for all the replies, I can definitely see it from both sides, but I honestly haven’t had any issues in the 920 strike. And as long as I’m loaded accordingly, it can be done. It may be a bit tougher, but it’d be easier than soloing it.

Heroic Sundial should've had matchmaking too.
-
51 RepliesBungie and the people who are against matchmaking of any kind want you to think that the endgame content is hard.

7 RepliesAs I've said before on these forums, there should be matchmaking for the 950 and 980 nightfall. A few checks would have to be put in place to limit the potential frustration, but matchmaking should exist. Here are my suggestions for how it should be implemented: 1.) only allow players 10 levels or less below the activity level access to matchmaking 2.) put fire-team into a pregame lobby with a ready up system to enable the coordination of load-outs 3.) require one person to have each of the anti champion mods relevant to that particular strike before ready up is enabled (anti-barrier, overload, unstoppable) 4.) implement a barrier that prevents progression through the strike until each champion is killed to ensure platinum rewards This would enable solo players to farm/complete high level nightfall without LFG and should limit the majority of the potential frustrations I've seen in 920s currently.
-
7 RepliesYour Issue: Bungie will not do matchmaking on certain activities that require communication and coordination. The reason: Bungie won’t do it because those games would be a craptacular shit show. And the gamers would blame that the game is so badly designed to allow such a shit show. TL:DR: Bungie won’t do matchmaking on the tough activities because it would make the game look bad.
-
34 RepliesNo. You can't sync loadouts, you can't communicate properly. I've ran 920s (grinding NF scores for ritual weapons) that are absolute shit shows. 950 would be even worse. Between underleveled and subpar equipment, it wouldn't be worth the headache. Just throw out a post on LFG or the app.
-
Agree, perhaps add a feature where you need to be a certain light to matchmake. For example minimum of 930(?)
-
1 ReplyPlayers fail to use proper mods even when asked to so I doubt that would work. Worth the option but LFG is on the app and easy and fast to find a team.
-
I can see both sides of the argument. Some 920 Nightfalls didn't work well because my team mates were totally unprepared. Other times, it was great as I had good team mates. A mixed bag, for sure. I'm guessing it would be the same thing in 950's. Maybe even worse.
