Sorry, but i have to disagree. When addressing the enhancement core issue... the overwhelming amount of feedback i’ve seen has been aggressively negative. When y’all added prisms and shards to the mix y’all actually made the entire idea of enhancement cores worse. To upgrade gear is now much more expensive and frustrating. I’m positive that this couldn’t have been overlooked, and that y’all had your reasons for going that direction, but that direction was completely antithetical to what people were saying.
As far as elemental affinities go... it seems to me that people’s complaint about it is that it limits the players choice significantly more than before. Gear stats play a big role in this too. The season pass armor had by far the best stat rolls, but it was only offered in the void affinity. So if someone wants to use an auto rifle and a rocket launcher then the void affinity armor keeps them from being able to use the mods they would like to use. Either that or decide to use armor with significantly lower stats in order to have access to the mods they want. Whatever decision they make they handicap themselves. Again, this couldn’t have been overlooked. So i wonder why this decision was made.
An obvious/simple solution that could rectify these issues: do away with affinities altogether. Allow all mods to fit every piece of armor. This allows every player the freedom to build their character however they choose. And give all armor a set number of stat points that the player can adjust on their own. Just as an example: every piece of armor has 75 points that can go towards its stats... the player can put all 75 into one attribute (mobility) or can evenly spread the 75 points throughout all attributes. This gives the player complete freedom of choice to play however they want to play. And lastly, just make the comical amount of materials required to upgrade gear more accessible. Allow for these items to drop from more activities and locations than the season pass leveling system and nightfalls.
Again, i know there must be legitimate and logical reasons for the things y’all do, but it doesn’t seem like these specific things are based on addressing the majority of feedback from players. I would appreciate any insight that you have, and hope this game can go more in the direction of freedom of choice for the player.
