Contraverse hold must be nerfed.

I don't think there is a more op exotic in the history of destiny than contraverse hold. That includes vanilla wormhusk and one eyed mask. The ability to be indestructable, whilst one shotting others at long ranges with a tracking instakill grenade really is madness. I know the subclass is otherwise not great but surely this can be tuned?

  • Yes it’s just one in a substantial list of cheesy shit in PvP right now. Anyone who says it isn’t either crutches on it or doesn’t play enough comp.

    • hhsn doesn't track. The reason it has a little range is because if it was a short range grenade, the user would die also. Nova bomb will kill the user and so will hhsn. There's literally a million hunters in these forums wanting it nerfed. Why? Because something is competing with you? Learn to counter it.

      I've said this before, multiple times. If you know someone has contraverse hold on, stop rushing in and attack them at range instead. And if you can't do that, not playing crucible is another option. It's that simple.

        Ah, another Hunter going with flow of hating on the next thing that kills them. Then when contraverse holds gets nerfed, whats next I wonder? Will you then ask for transversive steps to be nerfed cause you dont like how warlocks can instant reload weapons by sprinting? After all only hunters should be able to instant reload am I right? or how about ophidian aspect? "I mean OMG warlocks having increased melee range is so unfair"

      • HHSN doesn't track nor does it have 'long range'. Yes Contraverse Hold makes engaging with it outright obnoxious, but exaggerating the effects doesn't help.

      • You must not play Destiny that much. Let's go back to OEM pre-nerf, or pre-nerfed Graviton Lance, or pre-nerfed Wormhusk, or pre nerfed D1 Thorn or pre-nerf Felwinter and Matador, or pre-nerfed Gjallarhorn, or pre-nerf Invective, or pre-nerfed Icebreaker. The list goes on. Stop begging for nerfs. It's people like you that are ruining the game because you stay wasting time in the crucible and asking for nerfs the second you die to one person using something "op." I want buffs to exotics and supers because they are suppose to be rare hard hitters, and not common soggy noodles that Bungie always withers them down to.

        So what you are also saying is nerf bottom tree arcstriders dodge because it allows it to not only be extra tanky every 9 seconds via dodge but it can tank almost every super in the game by just dodging.... you can't tank a super with contraverse holds. While were at it.. let's just nerf dodge as a whole seeing it cuts the tracking of grenades/cuts the tracking of supers I.E. storm/cuts the chaining of arcweb/cuts aim assist/reloads weapons/procs kill clip etc..... that's a tab bit to much for one ability wouldn't ya say? Warlock dodge does none of that... it just dodges.

            • This exotic has no huge impact on the game: Voidwalker stats are in line with the other classes The last time i died because of contraversive hold it was probably 2 months ago You can simply bait it playing corners or walk back and primary, not that hard when their movement is slowed down Contraversive hold has been in the game since more than a year right now and you casually started to complain about it only now In my experience (console with low fov) high tier matchmaking is mostly hunter abusing vertical speed and dodge, top tier players are mostly hunters Btw bottom arcstaff has also a 40% dmg reduction dodge, most of the time is enough to tank a shotgun shot and killing the other player before he can fire another one, it can be spammed in less than 10 seconds and it doesn't require any exotic, the tree is also actually better than the shit of middle voidlock (in fact arcstaff is leading console win rate and kda since months) Then hunters are free to whine about everything, before the end of this game they will only face each other and start complaining about that too

                • I like that a titan can rush me with a shotgun and I can say “you fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!” As I vaporize them with handheld But hunters can jump over me and dodge my handheld *angry face* *shotgun sounds* “guardian down”

                  • The problem isn't Contraverse Hold, it's the HHSN being too forgiving. Also Contraverse Hold isn't even close to the most OP exotic in Destiny history.

                        • Not even close. It's easy to back/run away from or shoot down. The range is a little nutty at times though, I'll certainly give you that. I agree it needs to be toned down, but not nerfed into oblivion. You can't honestly put it close to the same tier as workhusk/oem can you? OEM required no cooldown wall hack, enemy tracking, over shield health return...

                          You can easily shoot a Warlock out of holding their charge, just not with shotgun. Use a sidearm and watch how ridiculously easy it is. The only thing that needs changing is fail crutch loadouts.
