Forcing players to play together/PvP
As a solo player, I enjoy roaming the worlds alone and doing my business without any interfering of others. I also stay as far away from any PvP related content as possible because I genuinely hate other players in this game. I never get to play any Raids or stuff as a result but guess what... You have to do raids or PvP to get the best loot. Why? Just why? I'm so sick of it to be forced to play with/against others to get something I want. It ruined my whole game experience. It was bad in D1 and I hoped that I wasn't the only one and that it will change in D2 but no... They still force me to play PvP to get the good loot. Destiny is such a great game in so many ways but every time I see that I have to play PvP for this or do a raid for that it ruins my day. All I want is access to all content alone without any other player involved. I'm doing the Valentine-event for the bow at the moment. Of course I have to play PvP again. I'm 5 matches in and I already don't want to play Destiny ever again. Every. Single. One. Plays a handgun and shotgun. There's so much hate in me right now... I can't even explain it.

If you don't enjoy multiplayer games, maybe try a single player game? The Elder scrolls and Fallout-series are great single player games.

3 RepliesLove how most people are telling me to „Find another Game“. Imagine to have 20+ Games you switch between and Destiny not being your main one. I bet that none of you can relate since you do nothing else except playing Destiny all day... It just sucks to be dependent on other people. I know that they won't change a thing but this hate inside me has been building up since D1. And speaking of „Online/cooperative/whatever else„... PvP isn't a main component of the game in my opinion and how can they assume that you always have people to do raids etc. with? There isn't even any real matchmaking or something. Just make a Raid mode which is like... Really really hard but possible to do solo... Jeez...

I wouldn't mind solo raids like activities with Extreme difficulty to drop raids-ish gear. It would have to be the same difficulty as soling a nightfall or dungeon tho.

3 RepliesEdited by Artisan: 2/13/2020 10:44:55 PMIn my opinion the biggest problem there is for PvP is the Shotgun-Handcannon-Hunter meta. It's utterly crippled Crucible and left it in a profoundly one dimensional place....for years. And they seem unwilling or unable to steer it back on course. If you do want to just get the Vow however you should be easily able to complete enough non-PvP bounties. You can get to like PvP however. I hated it, partly because I was Warlock main. But it is VERY meta loadout, top weapon and class dependant. The major reason Bungie forces players to non-matchmaking groups or otherwise flat denies those players key loot and major expensive game content is to to force us to promote the game by tying ourselves into groups. So, they trample over player choice. The absolute most discriminated players in the game are three: SOLO players. WARLOCKS playing in PvP. PvP-FOCUSED players. And if you're all three ...then boy you're really screwed over - you will have had a much worse time for it than any other player type in the game.

If you want more, then you have to bend a little. Like using LFG. I think it’s bullshit too forcing pvp OR pve content on people who dont otherwise enjoy those activities, but, it is what it is. And I wont do them. There is absolutely no NEED to do it. Period. I wanted Recluse, I did it solo. I wanted Xenophage, I LFG’d the parts I needed to. Easy peasy. And sure, there will be guns I absolutely wont pursue like Luna’s because it’s a ton more pvp involved then I care to go into. Oh well. Absolutely dont need it to enjoy the game the way i play it.

People unthinkingly ' justify' it or tell those players to play another game because they simply don't like to confront the idea we are all FORCED to play a certain way or be denied the best loot, whether we want to or not.

Hate is always inexplicable from its own perspective. Time easily defeats hate, though it may not always be so cut and dry. All hate eventually dies out, just as any righteous or evil storm plays its part and then evaporates into nothing. If you are dealt a nasty set of cards, just wait. The world has more in store for you that a single hand, after all. Much more and these little games before you are no more that simple mirrors in the grand hall of life. Don't spend any effort trying to change their opinion - they're just polished metal - just pass them by

Only good things for crucible are recluse and mountaintop and those are becoming irrelevant. As for crimson days. It’s one single week where pvp players get something mainly for them. Eventually I realised that it was OK that I wouldn't get to see every single location in the game. In fact, I came to prefer it that way. If every single person who plays the game goes to the exact same places, picks up the same rewards, has the same outcome - well, that's not really a game any more. That's just a movie you poked once in a while. Some stuff in Destiny is straight up too hard for me, too invested, or part of a mode that I just don't enjoy. I think that's really cool, that there's still mystery and goals in a world that I've been in it for years. I'm soon about to complete Not Forgotten and Mountaintop. I thought as a solo player I would *never* get either of those achievements, wrote them off years ago. But one weekend I decided to give it a go again, and it actually worked. Am I ever going to get any of the Heroic Raid gear? Nearly certainly not. I haven't even [i]attempted[/i] any of the raids. But If I ever wanted to, I could try it - and Destiny would have a whole new experience for me. You might never see [i]your[/i] Lighthouse. And that's pretty cool. EDIT - teh spellung

I play completely solo too but surely the point about "pinnacle" stuff is that the only real need for it is to play further pinnacle activities. So why does it matter if you can't get that loot as it is just an aid to getting more of that loot for those events? My personal disappointment in the current season is that for non-pinnacle they only raised the bar from 950 to 960 so there were only +10 to play for. After that the only real goal left for non-pinnacle play is to first hit the 100 on the season pass and then just try to achieve a higher and higher power boost from the artefact (season 145 = +17 I just found out).

What were you expecting when you bought a multiplayer game specifically advertised as one? Play a different game if you want a solo based one

It’s designed to be a multiplayer game... The event is specifically focussed on doing things in pairs, that’s the whole lore. Sorry but if you want a game that lets you get everything in single player then play a single player game.

Destiny is an online, cooperative MMO/Looter-Shooter hybrid game. This means that the best loot will always be locked behind the hardest content. There is workable, and sometimes really strong, loot that can be earned completely solo or through simple matchmade activities, but Bungie will never put loot as strong as Raid loot or Ritual weapons as rewards from planetary chests or public events. You either need to accept that refusing to do raids, PvP, Dungeons, and Nightfalls will result in not getting their associated loot, make friends and find teams to earn that loot, or find another game
