Overview
As a Clan Founder with membership exceeding 100 members
I have to create new Clans in order to expand my community
Each Clan receives a nearly identical naming Convention upon creation
Differentiated only by a Roman Numeral for organization
Currently, the Clan Name Field Limitations are 25 Characters
This prevents us from using Roman Numerals utilizing 3 character spaces
Real world scenario:
Order of Burning Light -current
Order of Burning Light I -current
Order of Burning Light II -current
Skipped 3 due to limitation
Order of Burning Light IV - current
Order of Burning Light V - current
Order of Burning Light VI - march 2020
Will Need to Skip 7 & 8 due to limitation
Order of Burning Light IX - march 2020
Scenario
As a Destiny Clan Founder with over 100 members using multiple Clans to expand my community
I need a slightly higher Clan Name character limit of 26 or 27 characters
To properly structure and organize my larger Destiny Clan community for current state and future growth
Success Criteria
Given I am a Destiny Clan Founder naming my Destiny Clans
I need the Clan Name field in Clan Settings> Culture Fields to allow more than 25 characters
So that I can number & organize my community's Clans according to my community's desired structure & naming convention
Note: Expanding Clan Name limitations by at most 2 characters would have no conflict on how Clan Names appear on emblems even when they display in-game accomplishments. A 2 character (or even 5 character) expansion would not take up enough real estate to overlap any existing tracking Emblems in game.
Note 2: Expanding Clan Name limitations would have no conflict with Bungie.net site display of clan names as current names requiring more than 16 characters default to display in a second line which consists mostly of empty space.
Note 3: Everyone knows Roman Numerals look better than Arabic Numerals when dealing with space magic titles.
I've been hoping to get this for 2.5 years, it would be amazing to have this solved as my community is now gaining traction more in expanding toward the point where we need to skip more numerical values to stay within Roman Numerals of 2 characters or less.

3 Replies25 characters is normally a hard limit for the database. Anything longer than that can cause issues. You’re just going to have to work around it.
