A question regarding Backup Plan

Yes

14

No

22

This is a simple question and I would ask for a simple answer from you all. Just please avoid the "Bungie is lazy" answer, already heard that tons of times and it gets us nowhere. I want an honest answer...would all of the "Fusion Rifle Problem" Disappear if Backup Plan was removed? Edit- For those that noticed, I put "Fusion Rifle Problem" in quotes as many fusions that aren't the Erentil get thrown into the same complaint pool as the Erentil. Much like how "Shotguns" are all yelled about due to one or two of them.

Back up Plan to me is a novelty perk. Ya, you can use it shut down shotgunners and such but if you want the long range "omfg" type of fusion, back up plan is irrelevant. Bungie (I guess) clearly thought this would bring fusions in line to counter shotgunners or rushers in general, but I don't think it should be on High impacts. The point of the high impacts is that they can kill from crazy range but you need to set it up and pre fire. Backup plan avoids all the negatives. That's how I feel. I have Back up plan on two of my "God roll" high impacts (Wizend and Elatha) and I honestly forget I even have it most of the time. My Erentil doesn't have it (under pressure + high impact reserves) and it's doing just fine. Got another Erentil with Firmly planted and Kill clip the other day and haven't touch it yet. It's probably filthy as hell.

    • There is no “fusion rifle problem”. Theres a “people get fućked up and complain about it problem”.

      • If you tool away back up plan... I think fusion use drops of considerably. I don't think thats what most want... I think most want to not get mapped (high end hand cannon-pulse range) ohk. It takes very little skill to aim at someone's feet with a voop.. I think the biggest issue is high impacts (it's not only erentil. Erentil is just most common and easiest farmed)

        • Honestly fusions are completely fine, backup plan is not however. Will the posts stop? No.

          • No. That would not fix the problem. Because the problem is hitscan.

            • Idk why you are asking on here, 90% of the community on these forums are salty and toxic lol 1. People think the issue is the range high impact fusions are effective at - if it wasn’t suppose to be affective at range it wouldn’t have a scope 2. People will never be happy - once high impacts get nerfed it is likely that balance will shift and something else will be out of control in which case everyone will come here crying for more nerfs 3. The majority of people complaining don’t even really PvP, they are more PvE based that wander into PvP every once in a while and they usually have trash stats meaning it’s not the guns, it’s their skills Btw, this is coming from an average skilled player (just above 1 kd) that plays 90% crucible and doesn’t use a fusion rifle (I prefer sniping or shotguns)

              • Not fusions, it’s the archetype that’s the problem.... when you get one shot by an Erentil from 55m while you’re hitting them with a scout with high cal (thanks control for a distance marker) it’s a problem

                • People just need to stop crying and adapt. I die to shotguns/fusions/HHSN and such all the time. I then respawn and learn from my mistake.

Sounds like the complaints are not about 'fusions' but 'one archetype of fusions'. So when people say fusions are 'fine' they disregard that other fusion archetypes are 'not fine' and never used. Shotguns are 'not fine' for the same reason'; only one archetype of shotgun is used. When they are said to be 'not fine' most are pointing out high impact when they should caveat that the other archetypes are 'not fine' and are under used. Backup plan and quickdraw on high impact archetypes of fusions and aggressive frame shotguns, respectively, play a large part in the issue. Perhaps consider the wording of your post. Based on what you wrote, I personally feel: Backup Plan on a high impact fusion or Quickdraw on an Aggressive frame shotgun are NOT fine. Have a 'fine' day guardian.
