I know that macros are a bannable offense but i'm curious about the specifics for example the upcomng empyrean foundation. i have heard that by the end there could be people with hundreds of thousands of fractaline needing to deposit and it take about 5 seconds per 100.
In https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/11929 it says this:
Using an external program or device to automate gameplay or circumvent idle detection.
however i don't feel that it is automating game play as it isn't really game play and with it potentially taking hours to donate all of the fractaline myself and others want to know if we can use macros to donate fractaline. I understand that most of the community won't be able to provide more of an answer than "use at your own risk", however i am mostly reaching out to the dev's here. I will also post on Reddit.
In the event that the answer is no we cannot use macros, can we at least have the timer removed/made shorter to make it less time consuming to donate.

2 RepliesEdited by toneDef Weary: 2/6/2020 10:46:10 PMSo, I thought I'd update you with a bit of info I came across. I'd still say use at your own risk, but you should be safe to use macros that don't automate any actual gameplay. Here is a quote from BNGSecurity from one of the ban posts earlier.
BNGSecurity Your account was banned on Feb 6th when an application designed to read and modify the memory of other applications at runtime was detected targeting the Destiny 2 game client directly. This is, at minimum, a violation of Bungie's policies against runtime analysis. No part of the decision to ban your account was related to any macro software. Automating trivial tasks (especially for accessibility reasons) is allowed. Players will only punished for automation when it circumvents challenges all players face during gameplay (auto-aim, trigger-bot, etc) It is the responsibility of each player to understand what software is running on their device and how it interacts with other applications. The data leading to your ban has been reviewed and validated. Your punishment will not be overturned and is not eligible for appeal.
Edit - I highlighted the pertinent info.

10 RepliesWhether you feel it is or not is irrelevant. Macros are an outside source that automates a sector of gameplay. If you decide to use one, so be it, but don't be surprised if you wind up with a ban. Please don't misread my intent here. I'm not trying to be a satchel of Richards. Just giving a friendly warning.
