Why is Drifter always making eating references?

Is there some kind of lore logical point on this?

  • It's pathological. Dark Age guardians are all slightly mad in one way or another.

  • Drifter likes to hotbox his room in the annex, so he always has the munchies.

  • Those who live at the edge of the field are always hungry, so the old saying goes Renfield is the name you are trying to remember if you are one of a small percentage of likely viewers

  • He died of starvation several times in the dark age, many original guardians did as the exotic "getaway artist" describes. Lore cards, voice tapes, and stuff like 21% delirium shows that he has a track record of eating what he could get.

  • Slightly off topic but anyway, here goes, so I'm now 99% certain that Drifter is aligned with the Dark and/or is entirely evil. I noticed this last night, y'know when Drifter says a few lines of speech in The Haul right before a match of Gambit starts, well anyway he said something along the lines of, "Every mote banked gets Drifter one step closer to SALVATION." Yep, Salvation. Now who else in game has spoken this us......

He made his ghost a wendigo of sorts, consumed the parts of other ghosts to enhance its red light mode to control some strange creatures, along with being revived repeatedly to only starve again and again

    • 1. He died of starvation lots, despite his ghost offering mg to help 2. He ate what he killed (fallen, hive, cabal etc.)

Yes, back in the dark age times were tough and food was scarce He died of hunger over and over again, despite his Ghost being more then capable of helping him out Now he's addicted to food, yet always feeling the pain of hunger deep in his gut

      • While he starved to death multiple times I think he is also supposed to be the light’s mirror to the Hive and the murder tribute. The Drifter hungers like the Hive/Worms/Oryx and has what seems an indirect control over the Taken. Eris may look like the Hive but the Drifter is the embodiment of their practices.

      • Food was hard to find during the Dark Ages. Drifter would often starve to death despite his ghost telling him that he can sate his hunger. Drifter, being a stubborn SOB, would consistently deny his help and actually rationalized his anger towards his ghost for his own stubbornness. This led to him developing weird cravings over time, while also claiming that he claims he still feels starved.
