Is 5'5" in height short for a 14-year-old?
I'm 5'5" tall, I considered myself tall, but all of my friends tower inches above me, some of them are even a foot taller than me. Is that height considered short for my age, or are my friends just tall for their ages?
I do karate, but I can't compete in fighting because of my height :(

I'm 17 an im 5'4" but guys are usually taller. Don't worry you'll end up getting a few inches taller at least.

I would say about average I'm right at 6ft and 16 and I'm taller then 85% of people in my school sooo...if your 14 and 5'5 then you are good [Edited on 10.11.2010 2:57 PM PDT]

im 15 about a month away from bein 16 and i was 5'10 when i was 14. 150lbs. now im about 6'1(still growin) and about 175lbs.

When you start wondering about your small peepee, don't worry, I'm sure thats fine too. You still have a lot of time to grow, I was shorter than you at your age and I'm now 5'10" at 16 which is above the average American man's height at 5 feet 9.2 inches and I still have room to grow. You might not be getting girls right now but take the opportunities to make good friendships with them. Trust me, youll be tall enough when your actually ready to have a real relationship.

Is there some kind of correlation between height and nerdiness, or does everyone on the Flood lie? At 14 I was 5'8", now I'm 15 I'm probably nearing 6ft. My year at school is full of huge people, one guy is 15 and 6'6", needless to say he owns everyone at every sport.

Needless to say I was getting beat, so I knocked him out and got disqualified, I'd rather see him continue other fights with an injury than let him just beat me because of his height.

I was 6'0" when I was 14 years old. I grew one more inch by 18, and that is the height I've been ever since (I'm 30 yrs old now). A friend of mine though was about 5'5" until about 15, and then grew another whole foot by 20 years old. Everyone is different.

Isn't 5'7" the average? I really don't know. I was 6'3" when I was 14. Everything seemed... smaller.
