Hi, I noticed this past week that the fans on my GPU were starting to rev up to really fast speeds while playing Destiny 2. When I pull up task manager it says Destiny 2 is using 95-100% of my GPU.
I'm running an Intel i9 9900kf, Gigabyte Geforce RTX 2080ti, 32 gb ram @ 3600 Mhz, all m2 solid state drives, 360mm AIO water cooler on the CPU, so it’s nice and cool inside. This rig should easily crush the game's max requirements, but for some reason this past week it started to tax the GPU.
I've been running max settings since I built this with no issues previously. In game it says I'm only using 3.35 Gb of my of my 11 Gb of available VRAM. The rig is not very old either, I just built it just prior to Shadowkeep, so it isn't very dirty inside at all. Just a thin layer of dust. It doesn't FEEL hot inside the case so I'm not sure what the deal is. Any ideas?

I lazy to make new one atm a game is upgrade graphic it self every season :0 D2 is you know atm . is not an D2 at 3 year ago . or D2 at shadowkeep . Its not just an paper look now day its came from high texture :0 Your computer spec is not able to run all max output , couz even 8k $ computer is I use . it still not able all at 200 % . only 180% if I need keep its all at fix 60 fps . in sundial or heavy load stage like gambit . so what wrong ? if its run at max capacity . I wonder :d cheer

Edited by Boldly Going Nowhere: 2/6/2020 10:54:15 PMDestiny is a CPU hungry game, you should want your GPU utilisation as high as it can go, as long as temps are under the factory recommended max for your GPUs manufacturer. I recommend monitoring usage using MSI afterburner. The overlay wont work with D2, but you can still tab out to monitor usage and temps. I have a 2080ti and the utilisation usually hovers around 85-95% at 1440p. air cooled temps of 70c max. Don’t listen to the others here, seriously. They’re trolls who are trying to steer you wrong.

Try Underclocking your cpu or stop overclocking it if you are.

I tried capping the frames at 60 (my monitor only supports 60 frames anyway) and was able to drop the GPU usage to 75-80%, but there was noticeable frames dropped in busy areas.
