Joining in progress into a guaranteed loss needs to change!
It is wildly unfair to try and match make and be thrown into a game that is impossible to win. Either you stay in the game and take the loss which negatively affects you, or you leave the game which also negatively affects you and wastes your time considering it takes 5 minutes sometimes to even find a match.

From now on If I join a game in progress and I'm on the losing team, I don't give a -blam!- about the losing team, I'm not gonna waste my time trying to win, I'm gonna leave, because I don't want to join in progress just to be on a losing team full of blueberries, heck for new players there should be a quest to unlock crucible and gambit because lets agree no one likes to team with blueberries in pvp

When other team members don't repeatedly bail out, then my side can occasionally complete the come from behind win.

If you join mid-game, losses don't count against you. Unless you are talking about destinytracker stats. If you care about those, don't.

Simple solution: If you join a game in progress, a loss doesn't count against you but a win will. (Some people will still ditch losing games but at least that'd help).

If they would adjust the matchmaking it would be less of an issue. Also randos versus stacked teams is bs in my opinion. Especially when the stacked team has 2500 shaxx medals combined versus my stack of randos with less than 100 medals combined. -blam!- that shit.

I was happily surprised in cod when I joined a losing game, and lost, surprise surprise. Instead of taking the L, I read a text saying because I joined a game mid progress the loss won’t count towards my stats. Why can’t that be something for comp? Especially when a player leaves? I’ve been in games where three people leave and I’m left alone. You think I’m god bungie? 1% diamond sweats pounding me in and you gotta tell me I deserve that loss when you match me with teammates that are easily frustrated. You also need to learn to how to tell what’s a disconnect and what it isn’t. Because these players leaving need to really be dealt with, it hurts when you get games with unreliable people and you gotta take the L most of the time. I don’t care man, repeated orbits deserves a long suspension, and punishment to glory rank. Hell, during that suspension remove access to glory tied weapons. I don’t get why people join and leave.

Does matchmaking even bring you in uneven team? Ive been in many comp games where one of our team member leaves and we are 2v3 and never we get 3rd player back. In quickplay i know you can be thrown in an guaranreed loss game.

3 RepliesThis has been going on for so long and not a single -blam!- is given by Bungie to add loss prevention for late joins. This has to be the laziest AAA studio in the business. PvP is a shitters paradise as it is with all the no skill OHK BS but there’s no excuse for joining late on a losing team and being punished for it.

I have spawned into an ongoing game to see "defeat" pop up on my screen immediately after. I've also had "victory" pop up on my screen as I'm flying in. I try to think of it as part of the game's charm.

I hate it also, but for the first time in a long while I actually fist pumped in the air and was yelling a little bit. I flew into a control match the opposing team was up 60 to 20...and the jerks was tea-bagging people. I just said oh it's like that huh, and took whatever time we had left to return the favor. Shax says something to the effect of...coming back to win, fight...then I hear him say...that was hard fought. I look at the score it was 115 to 111 and started saying, LET'S GO beat these t-bagging shit stains. The next thing I remember hearing, shax says....that was one for the record books. We won something like 150 to 135. It was the first time in a LONG time I actually felt happy or excited playing this game. Put me in a great mood rest of the night, and then had the full auto with explosive payload Patron of Lost Causes drop shortly after. I'd been trying to get that roll for a month...came with great stability and range masterwork. Happy as a clam I was.

Joining an match in progress should give you a ready super. Especially if you're on the losing team.

Edited by blade329: 2/5/2020 3:31:45 PMThat's part of the problem with players leaving matches early. They leave early, and the next player gets thrown into their spot. I hate when that happens. I get thrown into a losing match, sometimes right in the middle of the super train, then I won't get my super before the match ends. If I'm going to be thrown into an existing match, I should automatically get extra super energy and special ammo to compensate.

I usually check the score while I'm flying in. If the team I'm joining is getting stomped, I just change characters so I dont load in. I do think if you join a match in progress you should get 30% of your super and teams that are down 2 or more players should get oversheilds, until new teammates load in.

They don't care. This has been an ongoing issue. They won't even respond to this since it's pointing out a huge flaw in their system

I mean it doesn't take away your win streak and it counts as completion towards weekly milestones. I see this as a win

Except if you join in progress, your streak is protected so the loss doesn't actually negatively affect you. Wish you'd learn more.

1 ReplyI tried to play IB, but the match in progress thing was too much of a bummer to continue. The final straw was joining a match, while flying in I heard Saladin say" I'm calling it". The match went straight to the end scoresheet. I wasn't even on it, but counted as a loss.

5 RepliesHow does it affect you? You can’t join an in progress comp match unless you left a match made game that was already loading or got booted from a game, and nothing else is ranked. It’s not like it happens enough in non-ranked crucible to have any lasting affect on someone’s elo and nobody really cares about elo in non ranked playlists anyway. It’s basically free match completions for bounties and loot, so I don’t see the issue 🤷🏼♂️
