Doing something once / 1 time does not lead to a restriction or ban unless you are using code injecting software or cheating in some way. Connection based restrictions or bans you are given a warning about your connection first before any restriction or ban is places. Bans are generally due to having a program running at the same time as Destiny that shouldn't be. These can be, but are not limited to: trainers/aimbots/cheats/debuggers. Any software used for programming even if it is used for school/work. The previously listed do not need to be intended for Destiny, just having them running at the same time is a big no-no. Some viruses can cause issue. Playing in a premade team with those that are cheating is a no-no. Manipulating network traffic to gain an advantage is a no-no. You can attempt to appeal by following the link below, but I would not get your hopes up, as the initial flag is checked by Bungie SRT staff prior to a ban being placed.
