Angered and Heartbroken.
I’ve never been so angered and heartbroken from joining a player on the destiny companion app. After 43 gruesome minutes our fire team managed to complete this weeks Scarlet Keep Nightfall on Master Difficultly. I was anxiously waiting for my hard earned pinnacle weapon and rewards to drop only to be kicked from the fire-team before the drop. I rushed to the tower to see if maybe it would be at the postmaster only to realize that the Weekly challenge was not completed. For the first time after many years of playing Destiny, I was left speechless and shocked by what just happened. Destiny is the only game I look forward to playing every night. Im a mother and playing is my getaway and what I enjoy doing the most during my free time. After this incident, Im just sitting here with tears in my eyes.
Re; Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone that reached out. I was so emotional in the heat of the moment as I couldn’t believe anyone would do such a thing and deliberately kick me from the fire-team before the drop. Anyone who played The Scarlet Keep on master can relate to how stressful and at the same time exhilarating the boss phase is; I love the chaos which makes this Nightfall reward in particular more deserving at the end. It’s evident from your support that the good players ALWAYS outnumber the toxic ones in this community. Much Respect. 🌹
Edit: This is the first time I’ve ever posted on here thinking that it would directly go to Destiny. It’s crazy reading all your responses but I think that there were some really good suggestions in regards to the situation. Destiny could definitely look into disabling the Boot feature once you reach a certain point in a strike/raid like the restricted zone or the Boss Phase.
And to anyone saying I overreacted; 1. In that moment when you see the message that you’re no longer in a fire-team and realize what just happened, yes it angered me and 2. I did not mention the abuse I got from that certain player After I messaged them regarding their actions. So yes it was painful to hear what he had said knowing that you did everything right to complete the nightfall.
I hope this controversy might spark a change in some features in the game making it more user friendly especially for solo players that depend on the companion app for certain tasks. 👍🏽

That sucks, had people kick me out of VoG back in D1 right as we took out atheon while laughing about what they were going to do, sadly it was grown adults getting their kicks from stupid stuff like that.

While I don't like this game at the moment I dislike trolling douches even more. Give us the name or the game in your history I'll gladly report them. I have zero tolerance for people ruining the in game experience through LFG. Kicked from a raid or nightfall it doesn't matter the people who kick are still douches. Hope you're able to get your reward at another time and find a much better LFG team to enjoy the game with.

Sad story, I missed some loot before and been kicked. Feels bad. This is why if I am serious about my loot now as a solo player I’ll try to be the fireteam leader. I stopped playing with my D1 crew basically because of a kick, amongst other things.

Dont take it personal, ppl are duchebags. My username has alt characters in it and the original one that everyone searches has no raid completions and a crap kd. I'm constantly getting kicked from groups for it after they stat check that account. Then I tell them they inspected the wrong account I have over 10 raid completions, they tell me to f off. Lol.

I feel your pain it happend to me once in D1 Vault of glass run and in a prestige spire of stars run. There needs to be a place where we can exchange information like this and be able to give out names of the assholes in the community so we know the groups not to join and not have to deal with Bungies name and shame BS policy. Because we all know that they will never address this issue since it has been happening for years.

But either way I know how you feel, and I dealt with the same thing before on the same strike. I’m a full time college kid so naturally I only get on whenever I have nothing to do so when people pull crap like that it pisses me off. Luckily, I found out that they were doing this to people repeatedly over the day so I called my irl best friend and told him to make a post and lure them the next day, since it was a monday. Because my buddy is basically a living bard, it wasn’t hard to convince them the night before. He told me later, he was able to waste their time for almost an hour and a half before they finally completed the master nightfall after a few attempts, and he booted both of them and was the only one to get rewards. The hatemail was apparently glorious lol. I hope that story made you feel a bit better tho :)

I do have to say OP, I hope that you’ve reported who ever the fire team leader was. Sadly this really isn’t anything new, been happening since D1 VoG, it’s happened to me before during my first VoG hard run. If you were on Xbox I’d more than happily try to help.

Anyway - sorry to double post but form your own groups and use the in game feature or the Xbox (I’m an xbox player) in console finder. No one can boot the fire team leader.
