Angered and Heartbroken.
I’ve never been so angered and heartbroken from joining a player on the destiny companion app. After 43 gruesome minutes our fire team managed to complete this weeks Scarlet Keep Nightfall on Master Difficultly. I was anxiously waiting for my hard earned pinnacle weapon and rewards to drop only to be kicked from the fire-team before the drop. I rushed to the tower to see if maybe it would be at the postmaster only to realize that the Weekly challenge was not completed. For the first time after many years of playing Destiny, I was left speechless and shocked by what just happened. Destiny is the only game I look forward to playing every night. Im a mother and playing is my getaway and what I enjoy doing the most during my free time. After this incident, Im just sitting here with tears in my eyes.
Re; Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone that reached out. I was so emotional in the heat of the moment as I couldn’t believe anyone would do such a thing and deliberately kick me from the fire-team before the drop. Anyone who played The Scarlet Keep on master can relate to how stressful and at the same time exhilarating the boss phase is; I love the chaos which makes this Nightfall reward in particular more deserving at the end. It’s evident from your support that the good players ALWAYS outnumber the toxic ones in this community. Much Respect. 🌹
Edit: This is the first time I’ve ever posted on here thinking that it would directly go to Destiny. It’s crazy reading all your responses but I think that there were some really good suggestions in regards to the situation. Destiny could definitely look into disabling the Boot feature once you reach a certain point in a strike/raid like the restricted zone or the Boss Phase.
And to anyone saying I overreacted; 1. In that moment when you see the message that you’re no longer in a fire-team and realize what just happened, yes it angered me and 2. I did not mention the abuse I got from that certain player After I messaged them regarding their actions. So yes it was painful to hear what he had said knowing that you did everything right to complete the nightfall.
I hope this controversy might spark a change in some features in the game making it more user friendly especially for solo players that depend on the companion app for certain tasks. 👍🏽

Many people are just horrible. Better do these kind of activities with clanmates or people you trust. I wouldn't be surprised if the person who kicked you was some 11 year old pimple invested d*ldo, laughing like Beavis and Butthead. I'm surprised it's even possible to kick people once an activity is completed. The last 1/3 of a boss health should remove the option to kick a person from the fireteam.

I had totally the opposite last night in d1 some guy wanted help with a taken war mission then subsequently the brothers strike once it had finished he handed the fireteam leader over to me an left. I feel your pain. Not everyone is as spiteful, I use the playstation community app it tends to be a better experience. Lfg is a minefield

Thsts why I always post instead of joining. I know I wouldn't do that type of dumb sh!t. Hell I don't even require people to have mics. NF's not a difficult activity but even if someone struggles I just brush it off and slow it down.

7 RepliesThere is no pinnicale reward from the scarlet keep. Or at least no reward I know of since it’s release. Your not missing anything but the completion and powerful gear that bumps your light up 2 levels.

Maybe examples such as this a many others may force bungie to rethink how the rewards are awarded at the end of activities so that if this happens at the very least they are sent to the post master the instant the activity is done. Like if the activity is completed while you were in the team and it logs that you were in the team a few seconds before it’s actually done and gives you the rewards.

Never had this happen to me, or countenanced such a thing. I can only imagine how frustrating this would be, especially when you've devoted time to it around looking after your family and you get -blam!-ed over like that. Pity.

Yeah - it’s f-ckin sad you get cnuts doing this......

2 RepliesI have had the same thing happen to me back in warmind but it was at the end of SoS where the guy kicked me right before the rewards, and i saw people posting multiple times on the fourms that he was doing it to others (of course they were ninjad in a couple minutes). Bungie cares more about banning players that cheat to benefit themselves then players who work hard but are treated very unfairly during activities (like being kicked at the end that should be a bannable offense if it can be proven by a video)

Seen many hateful soul's over the years since destiny first launched, and it deeply saddens me each time this type behavior occurs, chin up and stay strong for good will always out number the bad. And many always willing to help.

Would like to hear from a mod on this situation and others like it! And I don't mean usual name and shame post is locked bullshit, this is a real problem that is a design flaw of Bungie's system! Reporting does nothing as far as I know!

Sometimes people stream their shitty trolling for cheap views. I'm guessing because they aren't interesting enough any other way. But, it happens a lot, especially in Raids. Next time (and don't let this time discourage you), is to post your own LFG and accept people into your fireteam.

Damn, sorry to hear that. A good amount of this community is ass to each other. On the forums, pve, and pvp. So many toxic people looking to get a rise out of others for their own amusement. In my opinion it’s one of the worst qualities about this game.

That’s terrible. There’s a reason I or my friends always host when doing LFG activities. Even though 99% of the community does not do that, I’d suggest posting from now on to avoid this from happening again just in case.
