What happened to Variks?
Went about a year without playing Destiny,played through forsaken,forgot just about everything that wasn't a in-game dialog and cutscene.
While playing with my new clan,They mentioned Variks and I started wondering what happened during the red war,the forsaken campaign(didn't he control the prison?how did everyone escape?)
Please shed some light in this for me

Probably might hear about him when Eramis decides to make her move. Which will make Mithrax do something also. Who knows...maybe those three are in a Civil War of sorts right now and we just don't know about it. Or The Vanguard do...and won't act on it until it boils over....like a certain Fortress getting built in front of Guardians patrolling that zone.

I don’t know but I miss him, he was cool. Spider is alright, but he’s no Variks. Wish Variks would visit us in the tower. Mithrax too because he’s also awesome.

1 ReplyWell if bungie would quit wasting time on meaningless seasons that are irrelevant, we could get the rest of some of the actual stories. Variks, uldren, dreaming city cycle, the darkness. My dark doppIeganger? I love saint-14, but he wasn't necessary. Ikoras vex portal? Totally unnecessary and was a joke. There is a lot of story that is incomplete and put on hold I guess. These seasons of the bounties are just filler to keep people logged in. Maybe bungie is struggling with enough creators since they left activision and other stuff going on. Who knows ...

I saw him the other day at Panera. Seemed to be doing pretty well, but he was in a hurry and couldn't talk.

3 RepliesThe Most Loyal book tells you everything. https://www.ishtar-collective.net/categories/book-most-loyal?highlight=Most+Loyal He watched the Red War happen and locked himself in the Prison of Elders while the Awoken locked down in their own safe places. Afterwards he continued his work as Warden of the Prison. Shortly before Forsaken the Barons and Uldren were captured. Variks then released Uldren and set the whole prison loose for a number of reasons (his loyalty to the Sovs, the Awoken were broken, the prison was on the verge of falling apart, the Fallen were in ruin and he wanted to do what he could to save them, etc.). So Variks left to rebuild Judgement and restore his people to the order and peace of their Golden Age. Many people are saying he’s Kell of Kells, but I must clarify that Variks [i]did not[/i] declare himself Kell of Kells and has not met the criteria. He specifically declared himself Kell of Judgement, and will not be Kell of Kells unless he fulfills the prophecy. Currently he hasn’t made enough progress to be declared Kell of Kells. His goal is to unite his people and bring peace, but any Eliksni can share that goal and saying one is Kell of Kells just for wanting that is presumptuous. That being said, there’s no doubt in my mind that Variks is Kell of Kells. But that’s an opinion.

Everyone seems to joke but if you really want to know then here you go. The fanatic pretty much was imprisoned and called variks out for going against the fallen so he ends up letting all of the prisoner free and sends a msg out over the system saying something (I forget) but it would seem that maybe he's trying to bring the fallen together. House of dusk was made before forsaken so variks might have his own house....maybe is helping house of dusk now?

Last I saw him he was acting demickey, something about "A message for the Nine, gotta go to Europa" I dont -blam!-ing know honestly. A talking Eliksni is already hard to stomach in the first place Guardian. GO KILL IT.

Last we’ve heard, he was trying to become the kell of kells, and return the Eliksni back to their former glory. But that was when Forsaken dropped. We don’t know how it’s worked out, but considering how the fallen are still scavengers and really divided, I’d assume he hasn’t made a lot of progress yet.

Last time I heard he died of old age whilst flying to the tower.
