Just as the Sundial allows you to pick your pinnacle weapon each week (Kinetic, Special, Heavy) the other pinnacle activities (Nightfall, Nightmare Hunt, and Pit of Heresy) should allow you to pick your armor slot. My Hunter needs Helmet and Legs...instead today I got 2 weapons and Chest (have not even ran the Sundial yet). So this week is done for me w/ that character.
For those grinding to peak 970 this is too long and too random for the final steps. Instead of making me want to play more it's making me turn off. Please fix.

3 Replieswait sundial and pit gives u pinnacle?
-
1 ReplyI'm 971 and haven't done Pit or any raid. What are you doing?
-
People actually waste their time doing activities for +2 gear? 🤣 What a joke.
-
Honestly, one light level is totally meaningless. It literally makes zero difference.
-
Exactly. D1 Pains all over again
-
Theres still another 5.5 weeks to hit the useless pinnacle cap.
-
8 RepliesWell, it's going to be meaningless in another month and a half anyway, so what's the point?
-
4 Replies970 is easy af. I think you’re doing something wrong. Are you using your artifact? Or are you talking about 970 without an artifact?
-
Jump into a raid. Four pinnacle drops available.
-
2 RepliesWorst is doing the Garden raid and getting 9 weapons from 10 rewards from 2 runs meh gave up on that raid gg Bungie
-
1 ReplyI just finished posting a similar feedback. For the last FOUR weeks, the only piece of gear I needed is a helmet to reach 970 and for some ridiculous reason I have not gotten one. FOUR WEEEKS!!!! 🤬😡🤬😡
-
Yeah for players that don’t raid, getting to 970 is a nightmare. Had the exact same drops as last week which means no power progression for me this week. Players like myself don’t raid, so being limited to 3 pinnacle drops per week is no fun. I don’t think Bungie would let us pick which piece of armor drops as a pinnacle from those activities but at least limit the loot pool to just armor since we can choose our pinnacle weapon drops from the sundial.

Working towards the Pinnacle cap is not meant to be an easy task, it is meant to be a slow grind for the more hardcore players. Does being 969 vs 970 really make a difference in endgame content? No. Does it provide a reason to keep playing to reach that accomplishment? Yes. The Pinnacle cap is the answer to the problem we had in the past where hardcore players hit the max level within a couple weeks and could not feel any additional progression. I'd much rather have this system with some RNG elements than have a system where all Powerful drops give 970 drops.

Edited by whateverman7: 1/30/2020 5:24:20 PMThis post is funny. It wasnt supposed to be easy to get to pinnacle max, it was supposed to be something that took time; but cause the community complained, bungie made it a lot easier, yet that still isnt enough for some of yall. Seriously, op is complaining he/she isnt pinnacle peak after a month into the new season lol. Think about that for a sec. Also, for those that keep saying it'll go away at the end of the season, you are incorrect. You start the next season at whatever level your gear is without the artifact. So if you're 970 at the end of the season, you will start the next season at 970, you dont drop back down to 960. And if this season was an indicator, pinnacle max will be 980, so you'll already be ahead of the curve.

Pinnacles are pointless anyway so why does it matter? But you should keep trying you only have about 40 days until it's the soft cap.
-
I'm almost at 968 on two of my characters and maybe 963 on my Titan. It's a lot of grinding and less having fun. I'll be fine if I got to 970 on one character, but it's not a priority. 970 is for competitions. If that is you, by all means. If not, just hoard shards, modules, and prisms. Work on MW gear you'll want to keep in the long run. Until there is a D3 or new installment of Destiny, there won't be a final hard cap. Like 400 was in D1.

Ive only gotten 1 piece of pinacle armour and the rest have been pinnacle weapons this season. Why would i masterwork anything but exotics if im just going to put it in the vault when the next season rolls around anyway which means i have no reason to grind anymore.
-
Pennicle armor broke the game , stuck at a low light level because you solo is shitty , give me my damn light back
-
You'll probably get it in the last week of the season......& Have everyone that didn't bother catch up the next week. 69, 70, 71 its all meaningless.
-
Pinnacle rewards are a cheap means of slow playing xp and it’s horrible......
-
5 RepliesPower doesn't mean anything anymore anyway, sooo...idk how that's even a motivator to play
-
Just wait until the launch of next season when everyone gets to 970 in the first couple days
-
Just level the artifact instead. I hit 990 way before hitting 970 base power. 980 w/artifact is more then enough for every activity available. Past that is just a flex tbh. Sitting at 992 on my hunter and all I’m doing now is helping friends, chasing god rolls and working on builds.
-
I'm 969 and to be honest, I don't care if I get the last piece of armour, it's completely pointless and it goes away in 6 weeks.

3 RepliesEdited by idouknow2017: 1/30/2020 10:05:22 AMShouldn't Master Nightmare hunts gives you specific gear depending on which nightmare you beat. For an example Taniks will give you the arm-gear..

Edited by NVMYGT: 1/30/2020 5:39:13 PMI ran all 3 characters through Pit of Heresy yesterday, got a helmet on all. My Hunter needed a helmet so a win there, my Titan now has 4 970 helmets but still need gauntlets, and my Warlock needs chest, boots, bond and now has 3 970 helmets. Duplicates are a plague. I have 1 970 heavy, 4 970 primary, and 22 970 energy weapons. Complete bs With over 33k legendary shards, I'm no stranger to dismantling duplicates and crap rolled gear
