GET RID OF IRON BANNER QUEST!!!
I have hundreds of IB tokens sitting, taking up space in my inventory because I can’t use them to get rewards. Not all of us are great at PvP with certain weapons and forcing us to use them in PvP just so we can get our rewards we’ve already earned is BS. Will you stop screwing IB and Crucible up and focus on proper rewards, new weapons, armor, and address the cheating problems already? And, since I mentioned that the tokens are taking up space, expand our inventory slots? Right now, the mailbox is becoming a secondary vault. I see more Guardians there than other spots around the Tower.
EDIT: People, I am not new to this game. I know what weapons work and what ones don’t. I know how to complete a quest. These are not the issues. The issue is the quest should not block you from turning in your tokens. What needs to be fixed is the way IB is set up. I am fine with a quest but I’d prefer to be able to hand my tokens in for regular IB gear and then have the quest set up to offer special rewards that make the quest worth the grind. Even if I’m not great at using some weapons (and not being great at them doesn’t mean I don’t know which ones to use) I’d do it. But, as it is right now, I see no reason to be miserable through a quest that I know isn’t going to give me anything special.
And, also, please actually READ what I wrote. I said the INVENTORY needs to expand. Not the vault. I have plenty of vault space. It’s inventory space that’s is the issue.

It... really wasn't that hard, just a grind. The rocket launcher was a bit rough, but a few games later, boom, done.

IB quest is once per season ( not sure if it needs to be done on all characters ) its not everytime. this is the second IB for season 9 and i only had to do quest first time around

3 RepliesMaybe it is just me, but the quest does not give me incentive to play. All the timesinks Bungie puts in, in effect puts me off playing instead. It is just too much stupidity from Bungies side. I've already earned the IB points, why would I have to do a quest in order to get them? If you have a job, you earn your monthly salary. Think if your boss came to you and said you need to wash all the office windows, run around the city 3 times in red trousers, go out and help walk 20 persons with dogs over the street, and finally, together with the police catch 20 criminals before you can excpect out the payment of your salary? The laziness from Bungie shines through so much in the game - everything they do is make everything in the game harder and harder, without thought on the game nor the players, just so they don't have to hurry and make REAL content.

I do agree a quest should not block you from using tokens. D1 vet here. If they are going to have a quest like that it should at least be secondary, and award you with maybe something along the lines of 5 points higher in a pinnacle form.

2 RepliesJust stop. The tears and the salt. No step was overly hard. Particularly when the one bad step was made into a freebie. Hand cannons were the hardest for me and that was only 4 games. If you have banked tokens that’s on you wanting an edge each season and then getting mad that you didn’t consider it wouldn’t be that easy

I wish they can do something with the quest that was anything other than being a gate you had to get through to start turning in tokens for loot. Why not have the quest be the source of guaranteed pinnacle armor with high stats?

I mean, they took out the one crappy step. All it means is you'll have a bunch of tokens to turn in when you finish.

Cashed it around 1K tokens. Most of them were useless weapons. Its like 10 weapons per 1 armor. And all armor stats were Below 55..!! Next seasons the armors become useless And all pinnacle grind will be useless...we can go to 970 in just playing for 2 hours Basically...nothing are rewarding playing D2 rightnow. All become obsolete or garbage fast. They devalued our gears or loot all the time

It's not that it's hard, it's annoying to be forced to use weapons you don't like. For example, when I was on the shotgun step I had been using bastion every match for the past few days, so I sucked with shotguns.

Also be careful if you haven't completed the quest for that specific armor piece then you can't get it from the bounties, screwed that one up first IB this season. Couldn't figure out why I kept getting weapons instead of gear to level up then I learned

6 RepliesThe quest as it is now is just fine mate. What i still don't get is why, but why does matchmaking take you into games that are being mercy ruled ??? Twice in a row, 10 mins at most, i waited for the matchmaking, waited to land, just to get mopped up by 2 supers in a row and then the game ended !!! I would really like to know which one of the devs at bungie can't sort this thing out after 5 and a half years ? Not 5 days, or weeks , or months, 5 effing years !

Being able to cash in IB tokens for underwhelming crapola isn't much of a "reward," to be sure, but I got an unexpected bonus from completing the quest. As with all other aspects of Crucible play, I'm spectacularly awful at using hand cannons. But yesterday I equipped Crimson and went into to IB determined to do the hand cannon portion of the quest. Along the way I "accidentally" finished the Crucible portion of the Ace of Spades quest (25 hand cannon headshot kills in PvP), which had been languishing, forgotten, at the bottom of my Quests lists since not long after Forsaken came out. Completed the Ace quest line, picked up the gun from Banshee-44, and the catalyst dropped at the end of my next IB match. You don't often get pleasant surprises in Destiny these days. That was a nice one.

You could have stopped your title at Iron Banner as far as I'm concerned. The entire crucible is a pile of dogshiz and the game would be better off just getting rid of it. Then the developers could focus on good content and the PvPers could go play a game that is rewarding to them and have more fun. And this fvcking bullsh|t with lag-switches, network manipulation and other exploits is getting really fvcking old!

The quests would be better suited to a title or something. There was a time where completing bounties was all you had to do to get some decent stuff. Now it’s an arbitrary quest, like most of the triumphs too. Wasteful

1 ReplyThe quest should not exist!! If you want IB gear, you put the effort in to play IB to earn the tokens. When you have enough tokens, you buy the gear. The fact we have to complete a quest to earn the right to buy the loot is just a dumb, backwards business model. Imagine you went to do your grocery shopping. You selected your goods, took them to the till, ready to pay for them with the money you've earned from your job. If the cashier told you you'd have to run around the block 5 times before you were allowed to purchase your goods, you'd go to a different shop!! Unfortunately there's no other games where I can buy IB gear, I guess I'm glad I earned the bits I wanted in previous seasons when there wasn't a stupid quest attached

The quest is there to stop the vets from spending tokens endlessly for the new gear, or better rolled gear etc. It forces participation in the event at least a good amount before you can do that
