For those who play crucible and play on max sens, how can I improve at playing on max sensitivity? I am asking this because I want to improve at close quarter gunfights while trying to retain some of my aim with my Hand Cannons at those mid range engagements.

In this game it's hard because it only has 1 setting with no ads or other kind of settings. Put your sense on 5 with a traction mod on your boots and it will feel faster when you don't ads and slower when you do. Like you can still make those tight turns without having to max your sense out.

7 sensitivity is the sweet spot IMO. I can go from MnK to controller on 7 sensitivity and still do well though controller aiming feels like trash in comparison.

Max sensitivity might not be the answer you’re looking for to be honest. Most of the top PvP players historically played between 5-7 but even that shouldn’t inform your decision. Find something that feels right. It will take time for it to feel natural but my advice would be to play PvE a lot on the sensitivity you want to get ‘natural’ with.

Step 1, stop trying to use a higher sensitivity to correct for bad positioning, poor pre aiming and game sense. Step 2, find the sensitivity that actually helps you aqcuire targets quickly and maintain aim while in a fight reliably Step 3, leave it alone, messing with your sensitivity too frequently ruins your muscle memory and will leave you at a disadvantage. I run my sens. at 4, and it's perfect for me in every situation, sniping, hc's, shotgunning. Spinning a faster 180 because you got attacked from behind or hopped over in cqc is moot if it takes another half second to aqcuire your target because your aiming is sloppy.

Even on max sensitivity you can’t outplay a MK user when it comes to rotation speed so don’t try. The only thing high sens does is cause over aiming. It’ll feel weird at first but playing down around 4-6 will improve your accuracy. If you’re needing high sensitivity to wing your view around all the time trying to track people then something is wrong and you need to work on overall situational awareness and positioning.

I think ultimately it has to do with situational awareness. Always placing the target in front of you no matter what your doing. Yes players will come up behind you, or off from the side while your trying to engage your primary target, but being aware of which target is easier to engage is important. I never had an issue with sensitivity. And my reflexes are horrible. Because of that I have to pick and choose what target to engage and when to run or back peddle. I also play on like 2-3 sensitivity. I dunno my actual k/d ( probably around 1.45? ) I know my ka/d is around 1.78. I consider myself very average. Some of the other comments eluded to slowly raising the settings by 2 and getting use to it. If you feel it will help and I would agree that's more sound advice than just jumping to Max or near it. Hope any of that helps your decision.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I’ve used max sensitivity since D1. Really nothing to it other than practice. There isn’t anything special about playing at max sensitivity versus like 5.
