I keep getting the Code Error Rutabaga everytime I play (or try to play) Destiny 2 on my laptop... but that wouldn't be funny if that was it....
When I google this, or go on the Bungie site, there are advices to try to solve this; checking if anything is running on your laptop besides Destiny, check if both OS and GPU are updated, and if your computer respects minimum configuration required.
When I play, nothing is running except Destiny 2. Just nothing. I don't even use (when I should !) my temperature monitoring apps, which basically demand almost no ressources.
Both of my OS and GPU are updated, with the last updates for both.
With an Intel Core I7 7700k 2.8 Ghz (3.8 Ghz in Turbo), a GTX 1060 with 6 Gb of DDR5 RAM, and 8 Gb of DDR4 RAM, I think I reach at least the minimum configuration required.
And I was using a ethernet connection until a few days ago, when I moved to optical fiber.
I could believe that any of these were involved and that it is just me that, somewhat, somewhere, made a mistake, but here's the thing. When I play at one of my friend's place, I play without a damn problem.
He's living in a flat. With a Wi-Fi connection. Without changing anything (I do insist !) on my game settings (or anything else by the way), the game runs fine in his flat, with Wi-Fi, but not in my house, with optical fiber.
If my laptop (GPU updates, games settings, or anything else) is to blame, why does the game run at my friend's place and not at my home ?
Why, while googling about Rutabaga, I'm told this code hasn't much to do with network problems, when the ONLY difference (to me at least) between a situation when the game works and another where it does not IS a difference of type of internet connections ?
(Especially if the game runs fine with the worst one !?!)
The only thing I tried at my home that works so far, is to basically put everything down on graphics, and playing with a 1280 x 1024 resolution... It kinda hurts my eyes and my heart to see the game like this (especially if - again - it runs fine at my friend's, with full graphics and full HD !) so I like to believe something else can be done.
The only reason I'm honestly not that frustrated (yet) is that I play the free version of the game, so I can't complain that much for a free game, especially a game so damn good; so here is the thing.
Could somebody, somehow try to help me fix this ? Because I haven't played that much to Destiny 2 so far (less than 50h), but way enough to like this insanely beautiful, immersive, ambitious game. And I would like to be able to play it more. But I can't (at least not in my home, which is kinda dumb, as it is the place I spend 95% of my lifetime in).
And so, for some reason I don't understand. I would also like to buy Renegates, or Shadow Keep at some point, but considering how "well" the game works now, I'm not sure I should spend money for it.
By advance, thank you for reading this, and trying to help me of you do so.
(PS: I'm french in the first place, so please excuse any mistakes you'll find here, or any I could do afterwards, thank you ;) )

3 RepliesFrom https://gamerant.com/destiny-2-pc-known-issues-crash-driver/ Rutabaga is "performance drops below sustainable thresholds." I agree that doesn't sound like a connection related issue, though I could be wrong. Are you getting low FPS? Does the game stutter? In task manager, do you have plenty free memory? I wonder if 8 GB is a bit low.
