D1 quality over D2 quantity.

I cannot stand datto . I go out of my way to not watch his videos . Avoid him like the plague. Except this time. Someone referred me to his state of the game video. I watched this one and everything he’s said is right @ the state of the game. Tons to do and None of it matters. Nothing good to chase which makes it a no go on playing it dedicatedly . I love destiny , the world the characters the gunplay. I’m afraid d2 has run its course and that stale boredom is magnified by reskins , crappy bounties and lack of rewards that are worth a damn. I don’t think anyone can expect much more from d2 at this point . The game has run its course and I. Sure they have a small team doing these updates and seasons while the core of their team are working on new projects . Don’t expect much in d2 anymore . It doesn’t have much life left in it.

I wonder what would have happened if you didn't put datto in the title. Then this would have 1k+ upvotes and everyone agreeing with you. But everyone here was a hive mind idea that they must hate datto no matter what happens. He can say eververse sucks and people will complain about him complaining.

Datto is a jaded elitist, who clearly doesn't enjoy Destiny anymore....and who doesn't remotely speak for the community. While he is a talented theory-crafter and build analyst...he is the LAST person I'd turn to for game design advice. Literally....the last person...if I wanted to actually make MONEY with that game. 1. Datto comes from a back ground in World of Warcraft. In the early days of his YouTube Channel, he was pretty open and self-aware that his aspiration for this game was for it to become World-of-Warcraft-with-Guns. A brutally difficult, super-hardcore, mega-grindy RPG. (One of the nicknames for WoW is "The Addiction Simulator"....in reference to how much of your life it will consume trying to play it). 2. The Division 1 tried to be that game in its first year...and it was a DISASTER. The game lost 98%% of its player base by 6 months post launch...and the devs were openly at-war with the player base, lecturing them about their "design goals" despite feedback that was rattling the walls about how much the community hated the state the game was in, and how the game wasn't even remotely fun to play. At the last minute the devs-----Massive Entertainment----finally got their heads out of their asses. Retuned the game for a more average player base....and saved the franchise. 3. Datto is also an outlier in terms of skill level. One of the things he used to do with his channel was self-imposed raid challenges Where he'd try to---and usually succeed---clearing various Destiny raids with these really bizzare, off-meta, and dreadfully underpowered loadouts. 4. Datto used to care enough about the game that he'd keep his content preferences to himself. Realizing that if he got what he wanted....they'd wind up with a game that no one else would want to play. But something seems to have happened, and he just doesn't seem to care anymore. He's cynical to the point of near-toxicity....and derives very little pleasure from the game. TLDR: Datto sounds like he's got a horrible case of burnout, and needs to take a break. But probably isn't in a position to do so because this is how he earns his living. The last content creator that I saw get like this was BBK Dragoon (Destiny The Show podcast). By the end he was so toxic that I could barely stand to listen to him talk about the game. But he eventually realized that he needed to change....he quit covering (and playing) Destiny and moved on to other games. Although I don't watch his content much anymore, he seems happier....and the choking cloud of negativity that used to surround him and his work seems to be gone.

For the same reason sports like basketball and other teamsports should be banned because it is almost impossible to win them playing solo. Lol

Again with these streamers. Why do some of you care what they say?? They don’t represent the majority of Destiny players. They make a living playing Destiny so they always whine when they feel there’s nothing to do. They constantly want more content so they can get more viewers and more subs and donations from these viewers. They don’t care about the game as much as they care about the money they make from sitting and playing Destiny for 20+ hours everyday and when they devour all the new content they go back to complaining again because they have run out of stuff to do. Go play other games! It’s annoying. Look at Gladd right now, he’s been streaming this new Osiris puzzle for more than 26 hours. I don’t get why some of you people bring up these streamers like they are some kind of proof. They don’t even represent 1% of Destiny’s playerbase.

I once talked bad about Datto.... well I spoke the truth actually. As a result, I was banned. I'm sure I will be banned again for speaking his name in vain.

Perfectly stated... there is a lot to do and none of it matters? Could not have said it better. Game has lost its soul and Bungie could care less. I and many others will remember how Bungie dropped the ball with D2 and it will impact whether or not I purchase any content or games from this subpar company.

What is the point in doing x activity or x quest for the reward to be underwhelming or nerfed into oblivion. A weapon that has been obtained via hard objectives or long quest line should have something about it that stands it apart from a legendary open world drop. There is very little incentive to do end game activitys or really long quests with the current system in place.
