There is this extremly annoying bug that happens once in a blue moon, that completely breaks the game, by not allowing camera movement and control, I don't know if its affecting other platforms but this definetly exists on PC. It's a mild annoyance having to restart during normal pve content, but its incrediblly frustrating when it happens during something like a crucible match or a raid.
This bug is very hard to replicate, since it happens completely randomly and at very sparse intervels, I imagine it will be really difficult to duplicate it and find out what's causing it. You can go days, even weeks and months without encountering this bug, but one day all of sudden you lose control of your character and anything else that relies on mouse input, with the only fix being to completely exit the game.
This is not a hardware issue, it is a bug within the game and it I really pisses me off, I don't if anyone at Bungie is aware of this but please fix this bug as soon as possible, because it is very anger inducing to put it lightly, when it does happen in those crucial moments.

Happened a few times. WASD fine, mouse pointer in menus fine. Mouse look - kaput.

2 RepliesHave had the same issue, mostly in raids but a couple of times in pvp also. The mouse simply locks for a second or two and then runs fine intermittently. This happens for only a couple of seconds and if I alt tab the mouse is responding as expected. I don't have to quit the game, it just ruins what I'm doing for a couple of seconds and it's back to normal... Also I've recently been having game freezes (only three as of late), the game literally freezes and just the game. Everything else like my background music, discord, wallpaper engine etc is working fine. That's when I have to quit the game. It's not even happening at intense moments... Just random.

1 ReplyBungie: WE HEAR YOU, but aren’t going to waste our time fixing those types of issues, our only priorities are fixing bugs on exotics that creates fun for you players !

Edited by CosmiQ-Toast: 1/14/2020 7:37:33 AMMight just be the shitty aim assist among other shitty systems in this -blam!-ery called a game.
-
I haven’t seen this at all, and I have about 1000 hours in the game now. Could you find a clip of it?
-
I'm fortunate, this has only happened to me once in the overworld, in the EDZ. No cursor movement, could not swap guns, could not fire, throw grenades, use any abilities. Could strafe and move front to back. Alt+f4 'fixed it.'
-
2 Repliesvery annoying bug that ruins games for me is a heavy ammo bug where boxes of heavy ammo in pve drop drastically reduced ammo. ie heavy ammo box that gives 8 machine gun bullets, or 1 grenade launcher grenade. ruining activities tbh
-
I believe it’s something to do with the amount of inputs in quick succession. I’ve only had it happen once. I closed all background processes just in case, and still couldn’t do anything. Just had to restart the game.

Still no comment from Bungie at least saying they will look into it or letting us know what it is or how to fix it.

1 ReplyA fair amount of the situations like this on PC is caused by the Steam overlay; not many PC players know about the default key-combination to bring up the 'in-game' steam menus. This might be what is causing your 'all of a sudden, out of the blue' issues with movement/mouse. There is a chance you were so intense with PvE or PvP that you hit that default combo in keys which then for a split second popped up the in-game steam menus in which would of been immediately pushed behind your game but locking up your mouse/keyboard. I'm not saying this is 100% the bug.. all I am saying is a majority of PC people who feel like they are plagued with a random frozen/stuck bug might be hitting the over-lay menus for steam while not realizing it. You won't know if this happened to you since most likely force closed Destiny 2 out.

This has happened to me as well (PS4). All of sudden my guardian would keep moving in the wrong direction, or I couldn't turn. It almost always happened during PvP. It would happen for a few seconds then stop.
-
I had it happen during Gambit and Raids. Complete panic mode.

Edited by Grizzled-Wolf: 1/13/2020 3:11:29 PMI’m on PS4 and I have experienced this to, I thought I was getting interference from other Bluetooth devices until it happened again after I disabled all of them

1 ReplyHappened to me in comp yesterday. Suddenly lost all control of my mouse. Thought my mouse was bugging or something but it worked outside of the game just fine and even in the Destiny menu it worked. Just not in game even after tabbing out and tabbing back in. Had to alt f4 and force restart my game so that I could hopefully get put back into the game which luckily I was and it worked after that. I was going to make a post but figured people would just tell me to try a handful of things that I already tried. Glad Im not the only one. Idk how bugs like this even happen but it is very annoying.

Wow I thought I was imagining it but reading the thread I am not alone! Had it happen a few times over past couple of month.. strikes, gambit and cruicible. Didn't crash my PC or the game but I thought my mouse was malfunctioning after loosing control, unable to look, aim or shoot and then dying.

Yesterday in crucible when I punched someone it melees but my screen was thrown all the way to the left afterwards

CTRL+V "We are listening"

Huh. Yeah I've had this happen. Funny thing is, if you have a controller you can plug it in and that will work, but you can't get mouse control to work until you close out of the game and relaunch it.
-
It exists, but it will take 5 months to fix. Bungie seems to be great at -blam!-ing games up rather than fixing them.
-
That's your frames my dude. This happens to me when I plas GoS pretty often, I assume it's and the Vex bodies that don't disappeared just chilling in one small area. I recognize the feeling from when I'd spawn hundreds of trip mines in Halo 3 to launch the Elephant across Sandtrap
-
Yep, I have experiencing the same a few times. But thing that you didn’t noticed is that in this bug you can abuse vendors including Eververse.

2 RepliesEdited by Carbiniz3r: 1/13/2020 12:54:22 AMYep i have explored this bug on PC, you can walk around, shoot, do abilities, go into your settings but it literally will not let you turn and move your crosshair, iv completed strikes like this too. One day i was able to replicate it and i found that plugging in an Xbox controller into my pc AFTER the bug has started and then disconnecting the controller, fixes it. Which is insanely weird because i do not play Destiny with a controller at all. Edit* No the Controller was never plugged into the PC beforehand when this bug occurs, i dont leave controllers plugged into my PC due to other games defaulting to it.
-
It happens to me twice. I can remember that ones it was 100% during crucible match. Yoou need to restart game, mouse input is gone. Bad for me, that it was during close comp match when i was chasing recluse. Im not sure if second time it happens during crucible, but cant confirm that is was not crucible.

Edited by Krantzstone: 1/13/2020 11:59:51 AMI think it's an exploit, at least in Crucible: I had it happen to me when my team was winning, resulting in having to leave the game because all controller inputs on my Xbox stopped working in-game (Xbox menu worked fine, and controller inputs outside the game worked fine, and returning to the game, the game was still continuing, nothing was frozen, except me. The same exploit existed in D1 Trials: https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/3e9581/controller_inputs_completely_disabled_potential/ And look, one of the cheaters downvoted me. ;)
-
YES! I get this like once a month - happened to me right as we launched a heroic whisper and I had to restart and rejoin. -blam!-ing hell i thought it was just me cuz my cpu is like 3 years old xD

1 ReplyI had something similar the other day, my controller randomly turned off and I was spinning around and looking at the floor. Turning the controller back on fixed it.
