He needs glass needles and random rolls. The horrific stat rolls he gives make him useless to any player who has all the exotics. I haven’t bothered to check xur in months. I might have missed out on a good element for an exotic but I know I didn’t miss out on any good stats.
-
Its a catch up mechanic not a roll chase xur is for checking boxes.

2 RepliesWhy doesn’t Bungie just reintroduce Glass Needles? Every week we can purchase 3 Glass Needles each week per account. To re-roll a legendary, you need one Glass Needle. If you want to re-roll an exotic, you’ll need 3 Glass Needles. To increase the likelihood of a higher stats, you can throw in planetary materials or legendary shards.

They need to at least let each character pull one fated engram a week.

1 ReplyEdited by michael: 1/13/2020 12:45:09 PMIt blows my mind day in and day out that xur will only ever sell the collection roll exotics and the fated engrams only give exotics with the collection roll’s element. I genuinely find it frustrating that they completely overlooked that. They are so clueless its like they don’t even play their own game.

1 ReplyIts needed for newer players.

1 ReplyLazy game design or stupid decisions. 🤷🏽

It honestly is annoying that Xur's exotics have the same stats as the ones you pull from collection. Sure there's the fated engram that has given me different stat rolls....but for exotics I don't care about most of the time and that engram is once per account, not character. He's good for players that don't have all the exotics (which there's a lot now with new light), but to me he seems like a waste of time for the most part if you've already gotten all the exotics.
-
Agreed. Xur should offer alternatives to what you can get in collections.
-
actually, not quite. He actually only stocks the exact same roll you can pull from your inventory.
-
Because they want us to spend hours upon hours grinding mindlessly in nightfall for exotics.
-
I liked how Xur was handled in D1, even if you had every exotic there was still reasons to go to him. When he started selling exotic ornaments for one thing. I liked it better using strange coins to buy things from Xur, I personally feel it was a mistake for Bungie to have us use shards since shards are ridiculously easy to stock up on. Strange coins gave some incentive to play crucible and strikes for a chance at them dropping.

Edited by The Hermit IX: 1/13/2020 9:19:10 PMXur is extremely useful for a new player getting exotics. With the change in the exotic engram it also allows us to gain 2.0 exotic armor with a better roll and overall numbers. With that said if I get another set of Aeons I’ll scream lol.
-
Because his butt is not his own. No wait. His mind is not his own, his mind.
-
Wish he at least sold good rolls
-
5 RepliesXur started to become useless when they limited his exotics to only prior years.

1 ReplyEdited by Rikky Rahl: 1/12/2020 9:59:46 PMI don't know about you but Xur has given me Gemini Jester 3 weeks in a row now. I thought it'd be a good way to get a random rolled piece of armor but it's been bad luck for me. Not to mention I've gotten 2 Gemini Jester as drops in the past couple weeks. No other exotic drop. It's not just Xur, the entire games RNG system is a mess.
-
Bungie specifically gave him random rolls in the past, then later claimed it was a "bug" so they "fixed" it. Yeah...
-
1 ReplyHe keeps peddling the same shit. I’ve been playing 4 months of armor 2.0 now. And I still have Orpheus Rigs with ARC. Haven’t gotten a VOID one yet. And yes, if you buy out of Collections, it’s going to be ARC.
-
6 RepliesBecause he's not in the game for you. Xur has always been the game's backstop against bad luck. A chance to buy an exotic that RNGesus just refuses to let you have. The stat rolls are bad because Bungie wants you playing the GAME to get those exotic armor pieces with good rolls, and not lining up to BUY them from a vendor.
-
its mainly for getting it into your collections in the first place. xur is pretty much for new players or for those who need to catch up. xur is not for hardcore players
-
14 RepliesYou can still get good stuff from the fated engram.
-
Unfortunately, they went from random rolls in D1, random rolls for a bit of D2, and now static; Xur is for "new players". Nevermind, glass needles were a thing and fated engram is still the only way to get a chance at something good per account per week. The problem as I see it now, is they should have never switched Xur's economy to be based of legendary shards as many long term players are sitting on literal 1000s now. Had they kept it set to strange coins since the beginning they probably could implement glass needles or random rolls again and not worry about us just exotic farming.
-
Xur's still a thing? I thought they nerfed him at the beginning of y2!!
-
1 ReplyXur was too much fun and thus got nerfed. ;P
-
Because he's designed for new players with no/ few exotics and designed for players who get screwed by RNg and have missing exotics.
