The Hollowed Lair strike is probably the biggest waste of time (with the exception of Mindbender farming).
Kills during the strike sometimes stop counting for bounties that require kills, and during the boss encounter none of the enemies count for anything. I hate being on the tail end of a Vanguard bounty that gets so-and-so many kills with x weapon, only for kills to stop counting during the final 1/3th of the strike. I get that it's probably to prevent farming or something, but ultimately it just makes me leave the strike whenever I load into it in the random strike playlist.

The only kills that don't count (as far as I've experienced) are the mass spawns of ads when fighting Fikrul at the end of the mission. As long as you get the final blows on any other monsters they should count towards triumphs. It's been this way for the entire time the strike has been active. I do agree though, the Scorn in the last fight should count towards triumphs and bounties. :)

2 RepliesEdited by Peloquinsoul: 1/9/2020 3:29:15 PMDoubt it'll get changed, there were similar areas in d1 strikes like the minotaur corridor, so it's clearly intentional. To be honest bounties and strikes don't go together anyway, so it's fair enough. Plenty of more effective ways to complete them that don't involve fighting over kills with teammates. If you need kills the old nightfall works fine. There's no scorn specific strike bounties this season either.
during the boss encounter none of the enemies count for anything

it's probably to prevent farming or something
that's exactly what it is, because then you could just farm kills over and over again; similar thing happens in the lost sector on the Dreaming City where all the psions keep splitting; it eventually stops counting them because you would be able to farm them indefinitely. My suspicion is there is a set number of enemies per activity where it knows to stop counting as it sees them as throwaway enemies.

1 ReplyThe devs dont have the ability to fix bugs like this they only care about eververse

Was unaware, thanks. Now I may back out as soon as it pops up

5 RepliesFirst it was XP throttling and now they are preventing certain enemies from counting towards bounty progress. The Mindbender’s farm is pretty much a joke too considering after hundreds of boss kills I and several others still don’t have the rolls we wanted. It’s always at least 1 or 2 perks or barrels off and good luck trying to get range masterwork. Bungie needs to inject the fun back in this game. They’ve blown my mind before with amazing content and I hope to see that passion return sooner than later.✌🏼

Its during the boss room they stop counting progress. It's been like that for since forsaken.
-
C'mon now. Many highly farmable areas of strikes are like this. As much as im not a fan of it myself, I do realize why. But with things like being able to load up a strike and run off to farm a well instance, seems mildly off.
-
Also the bridge encounter in reckoning doesn’t count. Are there any other places I should be aware of?
-
2 RepliesSame problem in the scarlett keep strike. When the elevators go up before boss encounter no enemies in those rooms count as points or progress on bounties.
-
1 ReplyEven though this game is 100% about farming
-
1 ReplyThey shouldn’t disable that for farming because they willingly put it in the game. If it was a glitch that all those enemies spawned I get it, but they punish us for playing the strike they designed?

2 RepliesEdited by KingOfSchmidts: 1/10/2020 12:52:28 AMIf you're going to use it to efficiently get your bounties done...
...then no, no it may not!!
🙄 Edit!!!!: All sarcasm aside, if you'd like a fairly generous farming method that doesn't consist of Escalation Protocol and doesn't involve other players, I have a suggestion...
Play through the Legacy: Red War campaign until you get to the first Titan mission called "Hope". The first encounter is with about two dozen Thrall and as long as you don't trigger the next checkpoint, you can simply wipe-n-repeat!
I usually get several bounties done in just a few minutes using this method. Also, keep an eye on the Heroic Story Missions as a lot are great for specific enemy bounties, such as using "Six" for Vex and "High Plains Blues" and "Scorned" for......well, Scorn. Also, for strike bounties, I usually load up whatever NF seems best and get a lot those done there, then I finish up the weeklies by running my three strikes.
-
Been like this since it came out. Bounties stopped progressing after about halfway. The two plate area I think. I usually go to that point when trying to complete bounties then leave. It’s terrible.
-
Yep, leave the strike every time
-
yup - i leave everytime....after I make a visit to spider for glimmer if needed...
-
10 RepliesSavathuns song doesnt count for hive boss kills either
-
9 RepliesWeird. I've never had that issue in the strike. Its a KNOWN issue that the enemies in the final boss room dont count .. but if you're working on bounties, you should have finished before you made it that far.

Edited by Kanashimi510: 1/9/2020 5:30:48 PMIt's crazy how many game affecting bugs have been allowed to stack up. In the history of the franchise, it's never been close to this bad before. I'm wondering if it's directly related to bungie going solo. Maybe they are stretched too thin? Maybe they need to build up their team and distribute the workload a little more? If they weren't so far away, I'd seriously consider sending in my resume. :(

They made this to slowdown you trough the bounty process to make you play more time. Best part of it is that people just don’t play that game at all because of grind that should make them play more. Some genius who likes to destroy systems by adding exceptions into it now must be completely lost in confusion like “What happened??? They had to play more, not less! This is must be some king of solar storm or some spell!”
-
It worked for me for the sundial bounty (kill 300 scorn anywhere the system)
-
7 RepliesIt makes no sense for Bungie to block bounty progress due to farming, because there are much more efficient and quicker ways to farm bounties than to go all the way to the end of that strike. I've always thought it nitpicking on Bungies part.
-
Working as intended™
-
Same happened to me
-
These bounties are bugged from what I can tell.
-
At the 2 plates encounter they don't count during the abomination spawn. Also in broodhold they don't count after the dark version of the wizard, with all the thrall on the bridge.
