From its beginnings as a narrative driven evolving world shooter that led players into worlds with unique enemies and landscapes I see Destiny becoming another games as a service style shallow experience.
Where we are today is simply drop in, pick up bounties, repeat almost exactly the same steps to earn XP towards your Season Pass, pick up shiny loot (either cosmetic or negligibly different from one another) and leave.
The narrative element is so shallow because it offers little beyond doing the same objective over and over, keeping players hooked by employing dubious practices like XP grinds towards loot on a FOMO list and RNG drops that are founded on gambling principles.
Don't get me wrong, I've played Destiny a lot, but there is no denying the change in flavour of the game over the last 12-18 months, there is no contiguous story, each one is not connected to another as intended, they may overlap with enemy types spawning for no well explained reason on other worlds but its a mess.
I mourn for the Destiny that was (or almost was), I mourn for the fun I had that's now gone, 5 years of play is a lot and whilst a lot of people enjoy the new format, I know (from the great reduction of a mature and dedicated Clan that played a lot) that many do not like this new Destiny.
Guardian out.

Bungie.net forums is a Battle Royale game, where the only rule is you're not allowed to 'name and shame' blatant cheaters. ;P
