Honestly, what the hell. Unless you have some special little feature already to disable exotics, which i doubt given the fact that it didnt work for the older set, you would have to go into the game and turn it off manually.
Why cant this be done with eververse?
Hell, you could even just disable it all together even for people who have an item and it would be a better fix. But instead we get a constant eververse right in our face in the tower.
Really nice with the timing how its most likely going to go away once the dawning is over.
TLDR; it cant be that hard of a fix.
Just like every other programmer in the world, you back track what you added in until you find the issue. And once you find that spot that causes it, you fix it.
And sometimes that means disabling a feature all together until its working again.

4 RepliesIt's not broken, that bug is intentional and everyone knows it. Bungie is just being jerks about it.

-
2 Repliesits designed that way. dont be fooled. no one can resist the blinking. like bugs going to the light to get zapped.
-
2 RepliesThey don't want us having fun do they? But hey, let's annoy everyone and leave eververse flashing. Maybe bungie should look up the word 'priority' in the dictionary.
-
2 RepliesWtf you smoking bro. I need some of that.
-
What's there to fix when eververse is working like they want it to? Sales from eververse probably started dropping so they made her waypoint permanent.
-
1 ReplyB b b but they need to keep their lights on somehow
-
2 RepliesThey're fixing the eververse bug next week, still makes me laugh that they knew about it for weeks and are only just now taking another week to fix it (tbh probably a patch required but it feels like this could've been made ready to go out with the devil's ruin and legend sundial update) Meanwhile Gladd breaks the game with hammer throws against a raid boss and a day later they disable the exotic used.

3 RepliesYuppers, But if you found an exploit to get constant supers, enhancement cores - the dev team would be on that faster than you wouldn’t believe. 😳

Edited by TheArtist: 1/8/2020 9:07:45 PMBecause one is breaking the game....and the other is a mild annoyance that I stopped paying attention to weeks ago. A SLIGHT difference in priority...... And without knowing what is the problem, you have NO IDEA how "difficult" it is to fix. It took Bungie almost TWO YEARS to fix the heavy ammo glitch. It took them nearly a YEAR to fix the PC-based cheese/exploit around Titan skating. In both cases the problem was buried so deep in the game's code that it took them ages to find the problems, and then find a way to fix them without breakign major parts of the game in the process.

Apparently if you have a copy of Wormgod 1.0, they still work and you can equip those. Bungie only disabled 2.0, but they may have already fixed that too.
-
5 RepliesYes it is much easier to turn something off then to fix something.
-
Well, a streamer told them too. Bungie loves their streamers.
-
2 RepliesJust DISABLE EVERVERSE, DUH
-
2 RepliesServer side vs Client side.
-
5 RepliesA broken exotic affects game play for everyone that uses it or has it used against them. The blinking Eververse affects nothing other being annoying. Bugs like that have the lowest priority on the fix list.
-
24 RepliesLook, I know it’s annoying but at this point you know there is nothing at Eververse, the flashing symbol isn’t game breaking

1 ReplyHah, I just got a Wormgod Caress drop today and I tried to put it on, but game wouldn't let me.

2 RepliesEdited by GalaxySpider: 1/8/2020 5:13:33 PMDeactivating armor and weapons is a thing which existed in D1 and this feature can be used without patching the game client. It's similar like banning a player from a certain activity, like in any other game. And Destiny simply allows that for gear as well. It was implemented to prevent game breaking bugs on guns or to punish cheaters (Trials of Osiris cheaters in D1 got their entire armor and guns, rewarded by that activity, locked as well). A HUD marker doesn't work that way. It is a bug within the actual game and we also had this in D1 with the Vanguard/Zavala. The game doesn't recognize the progress and fails to update the marker. The first visit after you launched into SoD was basically a quest: Visit Eris in the Tower. You visited her aaaand the quest marker glitches, still thinking you haven't visited her. This is not something you can fix with a server side update or so... And that's why they haven't fixed it yet because: a) it certainly isn't game breaking ALONE, justifying an update b) they already announced an update for January, which will include bug fixes for other things like the glitched EDZ Obelisk #understandinghowgameswork

Is this seriously still broken? Damn...

1 ReplyWho told you this is a bug?

you answered your own question. they don't deem Eververse broken. besides, Eververse is 100% optional.
