Mindbenders is absolutely broken, it has way to much range for a shotgun and you dont even need to hit good you can just miss half of the shot at 15m and still get a kill its absolutely ridiculous. Every match in Crucible i play i have at least 2 guys running around with it and these 2 are the only ones that are just immposible to beat because of that stupid mindbenders. I know that you would just say ,,stop crying and just farm it yourself and use it to,, but thats not gonna happen because it destroys the crucible and just makes it no fun to play and thats not how it should be.

the mindbenders feels like the matador 64, broken and needed a nerf, but bungie doesnt like to think about it and would rather sweep it under the rug.

The problem is special weapons in general in combination with the maps. Snipers being an exception to their problem being an issue in tandem with map design, although they need a nerf because they can get a magical dome on you through a million primary bullets because they don't have enough flinch, and all you can do about snipers is hide from them. Shotguns on the other hand are really annoying because the Destiny 2 maps have way too much random junk everywhere that you can get stuck on. Even if you wanted to backpedal and kill with a sidearm you can't because 80% of the time you will back into a random rock jutting out of the ground or a car or something and the ttk on sidearms isn't fast enough to kill the guy aping you with a one-shot machine. Sidearms are probably the best way to deal with shotguns besides by using other shotguns, but they're hardly a counter. They just "help". Fusion rifles were really, really annoying for a while before backup plan got nerfed. My problem with them is that for some reason a heavy linear fusion rifle can't one shot without a headshot, but for some reason fusion rifles, that use special ammo, can one shot, and from a really good distance. It's unbalanced. Either buff LFRs or nerf fusion rifles some more. In my opinion, what needs to happen is special ammo should have to be picked up off the wall, just like heavy ammo. "Waaa, nothing but primaries!" Oh well b****, that's way better than nothing but specials.

16 RepliesHaving OHK weapons in crucible besides power weapons is honestly just baffling to me in general. You'd think that Bungie of all people would emphasize gun skill in their PvP considering the old Halo days....Probably why there isn't any esports for Destiny. I think a lot of the frustration of dealing with these kinds of players would go out the window if they made it to where you don't spawn with any energy ammo. Make it to where you have to get a kill and go pick it up off their body like when you kill someone with heavy. Guarantees that people that are actually good remain good while people using those weapons as crutches actually have to work for their kills. If you can't get a kill without using a fusion rifle, shotgun, or sniper can you really argue that you're good at the game?

9 RepliesIt's not like you can hand any player a Mindbenders Ambition and they start slaying. The reason you get killed by this shotty a lot isn't because it's extraordinarily good or anything, but just that the people that own it and use it are usually also very invested in PVP, and just really good players. There are simply better than you, in a lot of ways, and not just because they have a good shotgun. Previously they would've done the same with Dust Rock Blues or whatever. Good players play with the meta and the meta is currently Mindbender's Ambition but it's not like it's miles above the rest.

You are correct the gun is really good. Can’t beat them join them. That’s what I did and haven’t looked back. Just enjoy the game for what it is because it will never be fully balanced. No matter how many nerfs happen.

All precision and agressive frame shotguns can reach that with max range rolls and can't go beyond. Mindbender's included. Community perception of mindbenders is scewed because it's been farmable for so long ie. it's very common at this point coupled with the nonsensical hype YT content creators have given the shotgun along the year. It is a good, accessible shotgun. It is not a special/unique shotgun that'd outperform the others. You can pull out Imperial Decree and do a side-by-side comparison of the stats and possible perks. Might suprise you.

Any aggressive or precision can map at those ranges with perfect perks. Edit: It actually caps at 9 while other special weapons, such as fusions can go as high as 40. Coupled with backup plan I think it’s clear which can be more of a problem...

When no matter how low they are on health, they can’t die so long as they dodge. Nerf warlock insta kill grenades. I’m a warlock main who refuses to use said handheld ridiculousness. Jeez. There are sooooooo many things that can’t be countered to nerf. BUT. Mindbender is not one of them. Shotguns are shotguns. Shotguns can be countered.

15 meters? It can kill at around 8 meters roughly and that’s partly dependent on luck, what with the random pellet spread. Try using more shotguns yourself then come back here having experienced both sides of this argument and then you’ll be ready for a discussion.
