Breakneck and Broadsword
Forgive me if there is already multiple topics on this- I can't seem to find a search function.
Breakneck and Broadsword seriously need to be reverted to there pre-nerf pve status (excluding the base nerf to rampage).
Even before the nerf these weapons were not being used in pve and now they are utterly useless. Breakneck especially since this is solely designed to be a pve weapon (I understand Broadsword is designed for pvp). We worked for these weapons- making them useless is not the move.

I like where redrix is at but they completely destroyed breakneck amd had no real balance as to why. Desperado should not cause you to do less damage the more you atack rampage which was also nerfed.

40 -blam!-ing games of Gambit for it. But hey, it was very good AR, with nice look and unique perks. Its performance was great. I used it with rally barricade. I had fun and I felt powerful. Then some smarthead decided to took it all from me. Thats the main reason I'm never going to grind too much for anything in D2 in the future.

5 RepliesPvP really seems to do more harm than good nowadays yet Bungie still keeps trying to pander to that side of the game more than PvE it seems. Even before the nerf to both of these guns I never heard of anyone using either gun... like EVER. Ok one person in the clan that I'm in would use Redrix if he got bored but otherwise rarely touched it. Now he has it collecting dust and might potentially delete it soon. Breakneck however is just... trash, literal trash since it's neck got twisted and ripped off.

Its amazing how badly they nerfed them in pve. Its not as if anyone was using them even before nerf.

1 ReplyBreakneck was a go to of mine for PVE for forever.. The nerf has put in back into collection for collecting dust lol. It was the Recluse of its time and was awesome. Never used it in crucible because its garbage in crucible. Broadsword is strange. I worked my butt off for that weapon and find it horrendous. Sure the perks are fun but its seriously lacking in performance vs the questline to achieve it. Lunas howl and Not Forgotten are far better and enjoyable then Broadsword.

2 RepliesI agree Breakneck is bad compared to how it was originally... BUT I find Redrix is still great for shredding trash mobs in PvE once you get into a rhythm of continually proccing Outlaw & Desperado. I tried it again just last week and it was still a fun gun to use in Strikes

11 RepliesRampage was a nerf all across the board. Didn't they say they buffed base dmg on broadsword in a TWAB before shadowkeep? Breakneck got it's neck broke. I dunno man. 5 of you use the gun. It's not too popular, even when it came out. Sometimes, it feels like people create a demand for a specific item in a grocery store and come time when it finally arrives, those particular people aren't there to get it. Broadsword is sworn to be an amazing skill weapon. I've never heard praises about breackneck at all.

5 RepliesI don't remember Redrix ever being good. It may have come pre-nerfed from the factory. There are people who will tell you they hit two shot bursts with all crits in PVP, but... I've nearly never been killed by Redrix on console, so there aren't a lot of people who like it there. Breakneck may have "needed' to be nerfed to push everyone to chase Recluse. Then they doubled down with SMG's for Shadowkeep. You basically should/are encouraged to run Riskrunner for all Shadowkeep content until you are overleveled and it doesn't matter. It seems like they wanted to push SMG's There are plenty of good AR's with rampage, kill clip, multi KC etc. for casual PVE. There are a few that are viable in 6v6 PVP. You can still use AR's if you want to do that, you just won't set any speed run records.

This is why I lost any desire to chase pennical weapons. I don't think they have ever reversed a nerf. and their buffs are not even worth mentioning anymore.

As much as I agree with your logic of “weapons we worked for becoming useless, is not the answer.” The sooner you realize they don’t care about that, the better off you will be. I admittedly used to be really bothered by this, and thought pointing it out would make a difference. I realized the error of my ways when D2 was announced, and they followed that up with the fact that all the D1 weapons, weapons I had spent years collecting god rolls on, would be staying behind and useless. Useless unless I played D1 again.

All of those nerfs were for nothing. We are right back to melting bosses. So how is Bungie going to get around being unable to create challenging content now? This is why the battle pass system doesn't really work for this game. It's going to be a constant tug of war between game difficulty and nerfs to accommodate it. Right now, the 980 Nightfall is so full of bullshit just to make it what it is, and you're only really doing it so you can get pinnacle gear to make is slightly less challenging. But you only need that gear for that specific 980 activity. Between that and the very uncreative idea of nullifying exotic weapons by not allowing seasonal mods, and somewhat limiting your loadouts by having specific weapons only using seasonal mods (none of which include specials), the game just starting to get really boring. Enough of that rant though. That really should have been it's own post. 😂
