so... it turns out bungie were the problem all along

i beg you, PLEASE bring back activition, they were the only one stopping bungie's money hungry atitude, ever since they left we have had to deal with all sorts of little tricks, such as uping the price of all payed for items, and advertising the game as "free to play" even though most of the content is locked behind payed dlc. F**K you bungie

  • I only played the base game and first DLC I pre ordered the game because I enjoyed D1 and D2 was really fun at first but I'm super pissed that all people who pre ordered for hundreds of dollars and grinded the game Just get thrown under the bus because they already have your money and new players get bumped to your level and get to play the new DLC without even knowing about the previous content because they are new they should have made it like D1 and not remove the old campaign and allow the newer players to enjoy the same experience just later since they didn't preorder I also don't see a problem with the preorder people having more time to play and being more powerful since crucible is balanced and doesn't make much of a difference the only difference being you played for longer. Bungie really can't be more obvious that they just want everybody's money. After the game became f2p I was wondering where the campaign had gone and you have to talk to somebody in the main lobby rather than travel across each planet to play the levels that's when I realised they don't care about most destiny players and only the people who can afford to buy every season.

  • It actually turns out that you're the problem all along. Stop running around blaming everyone & find a different game to play if you don't like this one.

    • It was a 2 way deal. Activision is terrible but Bungie wasn't saints or innocent. Activision took the blame and Bungie took the money. Now thre is nobody to blame but Bungie themselves for what happens and this is why its so much worse. We have to hold them accountable for their actions and inaction. I play this game hyper casually now so it doesn't bother me much but you aren't wrong just missing a few details.

      • 1st off development costs money so these micro transactions are giving them the money they need to continue developing the game if you like the game and you like the content then continue to purchase it and the game will progress. 2nd there is nothing in eververse that you need to purchase to play this game everything is simply cosmetic and that's it you don't need it you don't have to have it don't waste the money. The problem isn't Activision it never was. The problem is a developmental team that doesn't address any of the issues or concerns of the fan base that actually plays the game. I could care less what eververse has. It's not going to change anything but cosmetic. What I would like to see is better weapon balance across the board. Everything having a viable option in game play. People dont use auto rifles for anything because of this. Fix crucible spawning. Fix gambit map rotation. Make old content ie. Menagerie and black armory continue to be good farming sources. And stop removing content when seasons are over. I loved murdering the vex shame it's gone. As I'm sure the sundial will be as well in 2 months.

        • $15 every 3 months for a new season pass, that comes with 100 new levels to grind through for weapons, armor, exotics, materials, emotes, shaders, finishers, ornaments, etc., as well as a new seasonal activity that has even more new weapons to earn, new seasonal armor mods, a new catalyst for the seasonal exotic, new ritual quests for crucible, gambit, and vanguard, and all the triumphs to pick up along the way... it's really not a steep price to pay, especially if you compare it to other comparable games with season passes or monthly membership fees. One thing this game doesn't lack is content to grind, and goals to work towards. That's all Destiny is, it's a grind, and it's a time sink, and if you can't find $15 worth of value and enjoyment in 90 days, then the game probably isn't for you.

          • The game isn’t advertised as “free to play”. The base game is free as Destiny: New Light, and includes the 1st 2 expansions (Curse of Osiris and Warmind). It’s also clearly stated that anything past year 1 is to pay for.

            • No the problem is bungie and it’s high ups along with the streamers & youtubers that are hell bent on destroying this game by trying to make it a elitist exclusive only and in their opinion if you don’t fit the mould you don’t have the right to be in destiny at all ..... which that way of thinking is wrong and what they need to get. You guys at bungie say that destiny is for all ... so practice what you preach

            • No one works for free, the base game is already ftp, they can't put out dlcs without charging something for them. So, just like all other ftp games they charge money for seasonal content and yearly expansions, not bad imo.

              • Bungie: *Literally loses massive money contributor and 2 other studios' help in making the game so they can do what they want* Community: *Doesn't realize this is a first for Bungie in being truly on their own, and that they lost their major funding and lots of workers* Seriously. Like sure eververse prices are shitty for brightdust. But you are expecting things to be like what, CHEAPER when they lose a major financial contributor to their game? Currently we pay $10 for a season of content and $40 for the Fall DLC. $35? I am honestly not totally sure on the price. Somewhere around there I believe. These prices are great for the content we get in return in my honest opinion. I've just always gotten my money's worth out of the game. And if you do not want to pay silver in eververse, don't. We can at the very least access it mostly w/o paying irl $. I am not excusing bright dust economy and prices however. But you are literally making an ass out of yourself here dude. Activision is a plague to the gaming industry. They are greedy. They are awful. They stopped cross save at the LAUNCH of Destiny 2. THE -blam!-ING LAUNCH. They also have very strict launch dates. That isn't going to help either. Bungie makes mistakes. Undying Final Assault was a massive let down. Various balancing problems and so on are also serious problems. I am not trying to say Bungie never made mistakes. But to say Activision would actually HELP the game and that everything was solely Bungie's fault is totally ignorant and absurd. Activision is not wanted here. I am confident that I speak for the majority of the playerbase when I say that.

                • Not to mention since the split with activision the game on consoles has become one of the worst optimized AAA on the market. It's worse than fallout76 and Anthem. So many bugs and glitches and frame rate slow downs and long loading times. Guns for crying out loud stop shooting when you are holding down the trigger! Like wtf!!! Why is this a thing in this game! This is a game that's core game mechanic is shooting and right now there is a bug that makes guns that fire in full auto jam up and stop shooting!!! As soon as shadowkeep came out this game instantly got 2-3 times worse in almost every way possible. Bungie can't do anything on their own. I also love how when Bungie split with activision a bunch of the lead developers and head guys at Bungie went on record stating how now they are finally free and they don't have activision holding them back and can make the game awesome now........... LOL! What a bunch of wankers.

                  • Well everyone had a choice at the beginning with shadow keep buy bace game which came with one season or by deluxe edition which came with all future seasons some may say the deluxe edition was expensive but pays off in the end as buying separate seasons costs more and as for the game being free it is to some extent but only fare if one wants to continue and experience other parts of expansions they have to pay as it would not be fare on other destiny 2 players who had payed for the expansions. And when it comes to new dlc I always go for deluxe edition as it saves money in the end

                  • Only thing that I know Activision actually had a hand in was Cutting up destiny 1 content into DLCs Setting up release schedule. The reboots, eververse, poor balancing, god awful launch of D2, everything else basically has always been bungie. Activision sucks, I hate them, but they honestly didn't keep a tight leash on bungie (that I know of. I don't work there, so I don't know)

                        • The old model was better and Activision was definitely slapping Bungie with a ruler to uphold quality if Taken King and Forsaken are anything to go by. Bungie is s**t tier now, just like all the weapons they nerfed 🤣

                        • Bungie was part of the problem for sure but Activision played a big part as well. However, it was always about the money for both camps. Now, without daddy money bags Activision, Bungie is feeling the pressure even more than before. It was all a huge mistake to tinker with what those who gave this thing life, Joe Staten and Company and when they left, it was only a matter of time before this would all go off the rails.

                        • The only thing activision really put on the table was money and other studios. If I recall correctly bungie only did the tangled shore and the uldran story with the baron hunts, while the other studios (dont know what one, sorry) did all of the dreaming city, including the raid, dungeon, and ascendant challenges. Warmind was also done by another company, which most can agree was a decent dlc aside from the story (bungie does story) So the issue is that bungie needs help, but it wasnt activision that was really giving it to them

                                  • Bungie were to blame from the very start, only myopic biased Activision Haters believe otherwise. The problem is Bungie are too set in their ways on what they believe is the best way forward. It's about time someone was held accountable and made to fall on their sword, any other gaming studio would have made changes by now. Fk you only need to look at what happened when Bungie chiefs tore up Joe Statens Supercut, most of his writers and staff got ostracised and sacked shortly after. It speaks volumes that since the break up with Activision, several key Leads chose to move on away from Bungie. I want to see Destiny succeed, but with the way things are going, I don't see it.
