PVP Stat priority and weapons

Hey guys, I really enjoy pvp in this game but I keep getting destroyed, I am wondering what the best stats to go for are (I play all 3 classes) and what weapon types (auto rifle, bow etc) are the best, thanks in advance for the help!

I try to avoid telling folks to use X and Y guns when they ask for stuff like this. Not absolute and there're outliers but I think this should cover it on a general level: Shotguns (special) -> very close range Sidearms -> close range SMGs -> between close and medium range Hand cannons -> low medium range Fusion rifles (special) -> medium range Assault rifles -> medium range Pulse rifles -> from medium to long rnage, depending on frame type Bows -> medium to long range, no damage dropoff so depends on what you're comfortable with Scouts -> long range, realistically never damage dropoff Snipers (special) -> long range (a very good sniper can be effective at all ranges) As far as loadouts go, I'd instead advice you to first understand these different optimal ranges a gun type works the best in, and then build a balanced loadout that covers most ranges effectively. Specials are one-hit kill (= OHK) weapons. Pick a special gun type you like. Use double scavenger mods for that special for maximum ammo. Then pick a primary gun that compliments the optimal range that special is bad at. Shotguns work good with hand cannons and pulses for example since a shotgun cant cover the medium/long range. Sniper might want a closer range primary or stick with something that he can fight with reliably at medium ranges while sacrificing the close range ability. Build your loadout around your playstyle and preferences. As far as stats go. This is my personal preference but I think resilience is useless. The amount of stats you invest in it compared to the amount of situations it'll save your life and the benefit other stats could provide isn't enough to justify using resilience. It gives 1 extra HP from tiers 1-7, 2 extra hp on tiers 8 and 9 and 3 hp on tier 10. Base hp without resilience is 186. Tier 10 resilience totals 200 health. (Disclaimer: this is from my pre-shadowkeep memory. Someone can correct if I'm wrong.) No amount of resilience will change any optimal range headshot TTKs in game (outside rapid fire scouts). It's a niche stat. Recovery is very good. Comparing tier 0 to tier 10 recovery, it cuts your downtime from around 10 seconds to 5-6 seconds after taking damage. Imagine a scenario where someone shoots you. You take cover to recover full health. He now has 10 seconds to rush you down while having an advantage jumping you since you're damaged already. 10 seconds is plenty time to rush someone. 5-6 seconds're realistically very often not enough. When he does rush you, tier 10 recovery will have given you full health back and you can fight again on even ground. Mobility is good too. Mainly because it increases ADS strafing speed. This helps while peeking quickly around corners to take potshots and makes you harder to hit in 1v1s when you're actively ADS strafing erradically. Mix a crouch in between the strafes and you'll start making them miss shots a lot. Intellect is valuable if you want to really play competetively and always have your super before the enemy team. In quickplay I don't value it as much. Discipline/strenght are more build dependent. Stacking them can have great benefit if you have an ability you want as often as possible like handheld supernova. Personally I'm running with 100 recovery / 80 mobility / 40-50 intelligence loadouts and I ignore the other stats. It gives me the best of all the worlds I care about. My goal is to minimize recovery downtime that leaves me vulnerable, have as much 1v1 gunfight ability from fast strafing and peeking as possible and have enough super generation that I won't be the last guy who gets it so I can counter supers coming to me with my own. But this is again personal preference, experiment and try out what suits your loadouts and playstyle. Unfortunately got no idea how to TLDR this. Hope it helps if you got this far.

  • I can send you some info to watch and read, would you like that? Anyone that is skilled should be effective with any weapon or class. I think learning how to improve your skills will help you more than what someones favorite loadouts are. Currently i use sentinel titan with two shield throws, two suppressor nades (armamentarium), and tall wall. I've been using Randy's throwing knife, Blast Furnace, Bygones in my kinetic, wizened rebuke in my energy, slow fire rate machinegun or tracking rocket in my heavy. I also like hand held supernova on "nova warp" warlock I like golden gun, arc strider, tether for hunter.
