DO NOT put your "A gift in Return" into your vault
So I have been grinding this event pretty hard since i made my return back to destiny in the Festival of the lost. Everything was going as intended until i was starting to run out of space for consumables so I put my 80+ "A gift in Return" boxes into my vault, finished up my grinding and logged off thought nothing more on the matter. I log back in today and all of my "A gift in Return" have disappeared from my vault. Checked my inventory...nope not there either. Did a test got 1 "A gift in return" box and deposited into vault went and did an activity came back still in vault. So i logged off and logged back in and low and behold it is gone. Ran another test just to be sure...same result. I feel defeated for grinding so much and not opening those packages immediately.
TL/DR: Do not deposit "A gift in Return" into vault you will lose them once you log off.

55 RepliesHey all, We just tried to reproduce this issue on our accounts at the studio, weren't able to. Swapped characters, fully closed the client, moved the boxes to vault, but never lost them. Anyone have video evidence of this occurring?

Yeah, I lost 41 boxes as well. Really got screwed here grinding them. Wanted to open a whole bunch of them at a time. Same thing happened, I was running out of room for the cookies so I put the boxes in my vault. Seemed fine when I logged off then today they can't be found.

Why would you even wanna put them vault?? What's the point?

Look at the other tab there along with the consumables, the one where the mods go, might be there. Or go the other way and see if it is under the flair tab.

I figured out why I lost mine since bungie is lazy and didn’t patch edz obelisk I had to time glitch to use it the game thought dawning was over deleted my gifts

They get deleted after the dawning anyway, also why even put them in the vault.

19 RepliesAlso, if you do have multiple packages and you’re spam-opening them... just know that your inventory will move around based on how you have it sorted. I lost 300+ mod components because I wasn’t paying attention and the inventory shifted. It’s my fault 100%, but inventory management sucks in this game. Why is the “use/open” option and the “delete” option the same button? In a game where we spend half of our play time deleting worthless junk, why is deleting so painful? Why would there ever be an option to delete an entire stack of something valuable, yet I have to delete shaders 1 at a time or go to the tower to the cryptarch to delete in groups of 5? Why are some things permanent and can only be used, not deleted? I would have much rather lost my 500 glimmer extractors than my mod components, but oh well. I’ll try not to fall asleep next time I’m “playing” this game.

7 Replies[b]I THINK I FOUND A TRICK[/b], but I’m not sure yet. Seems like you get more legendary drops and more return boxes if you deliver gifts to vendors the same class as your guardian.
