Thanks for all the fun, but I’m done.
I’ve been a gamer since 8088’s and text based games were a thing. Not very many games have been super addicting to me, but destiny 2 made the list.
I started when one day it was free when forsaken launched and I’ve been playing it ever since. It was a lot of of fun, but now things are just feeling dragged out and boring. I’m sick of doing strikes over and over or other stupid little bounty chores. A little gear grinding and RNG is okay but this game takes it to a whole new level. I’ll never masterwork my armor for one character let alone all three. I’ll never get the high stat roll I want so I’ll settle for a low one with points in movement recovery and resilience.
I think it’s silly to have a gunsmith in the tower that can’t upgrade or change anything about your guns or armor for that matter.
The combatant AI is predictable. There aren’t very many challenging enemies with unique move sets to make it interesting.
There is a lot of empty areas in D2 and I wish they would do more to improve existing destinations than create more shallow ones. Add some depth and story. What’s the point of having factions for each destination when there is nothing unique to get from it. I’m glad that at least armor 2.0 made destination armor sets actually usable, but no season mod slot is bad. Same for existing armor. I grinded iron banner armor last season and got what I wanted but the season mod can only be used with season of undying. That is so stupid. I’m not going to grind crappy iron banner every season. It’s a joke. And this seasons IB is the worst.
I’m sick of chasing gear for the exact rolls I want. I’m done.
PvP can be fun or frustrating, but at this point I don’t think bungle can fix it so maybe D3 will be better. (If there will be D3)
Well, that’s enough for now. I’m just writing this in hopes that my criticism will be helpful to the developers and to express my opinion. I hope everyone else continues to enjoy the game.

1 ReplyIve been gone.. havent touched the latest and wont.. its just the same grind over and over and over and over. Here is feedback: 1. you start destiny 2 and take everything we grinded for away... 2. you then put it all back and ask us to grind again 3. you then put it all back and ask us to pay again 4. you bring it all back again and have no original thoughts that succeed anymore 5. you bring it back more and tease bringing back more the game is stale because you are grinding out for stuff that wont be relevant in 3 months again. Other games like Monster Hunter, etc.. BUILD on their games.. you might have to grind new stuff, but the old stuff can be upgraded and pulled through.. they do not make you start over and then say "btw, thanks for paying $40 more, here is the stuff you threw away from year 1, go earn it again" that is my gripe

It's really sad. How can you expect the Bungie community team to sift through cancerous threads, just to find that one good, constructive, helpful topic? Their greed was their undoing. If this had shipped as intended, back in the D1 days, this would have been a game changer. Over time, their greed has stayed and the original idea... euthanized, it's that simple. Time has not really be kind to this game. I've had some fun with it, no doubt but like George Lucas not really understanding what he was making, when he made the prequels, so to, bungie didn't understand the game they were making or I should say, the game Joseph Staten was making.

You started in this game with Forsaken but I started playing it from the beginning, back in 2014. Would you believe if I tell you that enemies AI is EXACTLY THE SAME since the very first day? Always the same moves, always the same reactions, always the same old predictable never changing combat mechanics? And you know what else? The enemies never evolve their technology, they've been using the same fraking weapons since the beginning. One would think that the Vex, with their ability to travel through time, would observe human technology and return with improved weapons and gear to fight us, right? Hell, no! They keep using the same pew-pew guns for six years straight. As you can see, innovation and originality isn't the strong side of Bungie, their expertise is recycling. In that, they are second to none.

2 RepliesNo D3 for me if it ever comes. I think they should end it. There is no reason to play this game unless you want one disapointment after another. The nerfing of wepons and armor are my bigggest peve. This game is tested? I don't think so.

2 RepliesActually, the owners are just milking what's left of the value for full retirement. They're already filthy rich, but will probably fight till their last days to squeeze the last greedy dollar, and might even sell to a Google Stadia for that retirement icing-on-the-cake. Now would D3 run by Google's Dedicated server tier around the world, be worth reinvesting in? Probably a long shot.

Why do you need all this manifesto if you claim to be some "veteran" who is leaving the game? True veterans, keep playing, go through fire and water and still stay with the game. This is the only way to achieve something when you are not succumbing to it, but rather make compromises.
