The Grunt Rebellion (A Halo Fan-Fic Comedy)

I'm taking a break from my Halo 3 fan-fic to write this one. Anyway, Like most of us here at Bungie.Net, we find the Grunts to be the comic relief of every Halo game. Well, if you pay close attention to the story of Halo 2, the prophet of Mercy mentions something of a Grunt Rebellion from the past, and one of the many Arbiters had to deal with them. I've decided to make a story about that. Here's the first chapter.... NOTE: This first chapter is pretty short.... The Grunt Rebellion Written and Created by: Rare Spartan Chapter 1: Gimpvey Over at the aquatic island of Zanzibar, the mischivous Grunt soliders were taking a little break. About five Grunts were bathing on the very shores of Zanzibar, and about 20 Grunts, who I suppose were not just taking a little break, were patroling the Zanzibar base. "So, did anyone here bring the gimpvey?", asked a Grunt named Silco. Gimpvey is an un-earthly, alcholic beverage to the Covenant. "Yeah, I brought it right here!", exclaimed another Grunt solider named Fisca. The pint-sized solider was lifting a huge, metal crate. Fisca threw the crate to the ground, and with a single thump on the floor, the crate slid open. When the Grunts looked inside the crate, all they could think of was the pure, lucious Gimpvey inside. "Lets party!", shouted Silco. Since the crate was so large, when all the Grunts literaly dived into the crate, there was enough room for them all. Meanwhile, the Grunts on the beach could just smell the fragrance(fragrant to them anyway) of Gimpvey. The five Grunts on the beach rushed into the base by going through the two walls, the large, slow-spinning blade, and the large, metal gate. Those five Grunts joined the other twenty by diving into the crate as well. "Aaah, this is the life.", Fisca said softly. Life seemed to be going well for the Grunts, but they will soon learn that being a Grunt has it's hardships.... [Edited on 2/9/2006]

  • Chapter 31: Attack! About two days after his discussion with the Elites, the Grunt sargeant was about to form his trechorous plan in inslaving the Hunters. One night, while all of the Hunters were sound asleep, the Grunt sargeant left the red base, past the small river, and into the blue base, where the Hunters were sleeping. The sargeant quickly threw a grenade filled with knock-out gas(which kept them asleep even longer) into the base, as he then ran out of the base. "Hehehe....", chuckled the Grunt sargeant. The next morning, the Hunters woke up, finding themselves inside of metal cages. These cages were all lined up, right outside of their blue base. There were six lines of ten Hunters each. The Grunt sargeant marched up to them, and chuckled happily. "Why are you doing this?", asked the Hunter chief desperately. "As I told those dim-witted Elites, in this war, nobody can be trusted; not even ya'll.", said the Grunt sargeant. Suddenly, a voice from behind the Grunt sargeant called out, "Sarge, what are you doing?!?". The Grunt sargeant turned around, and saw that his Grunt soldiers were staring at the Hunter-filled cages in complete shock. "Guys, guys, this is not what it-", the Grunt sargeant was interupted when Hackle said, "I'm very dissapointed in you, sargeant....". "Guys, don't you see....This place can belong to us alone now. We don't need these Hunters. We wanted a place where we could be free, and with these things gone, we have that place.", said the Grunt sargeant. "The Hunters already gave us that kind of home. I mean, what is the matter with you?", said Fisca. "So....What do we do?", asked Pillow. "We go....", said Silco. Fisca and the others left their sargeant, by walking towards the teleporter. "No, guys. Don't leave!", exclaimed the Grunt sargeant desperately. Suddenly, before the Grunt soldiers could walk through the teleporter, one Hunter managed to burst out their cage, and charged after the Grunt sargeant. The Grunt sargeant ran for his life, as the remaining Hunters broke out of their cages as well. "Guys, help me!!", exclaimed the Grunt sargeant. While standing behind the red base, the Grunt soldiers thought about what to decide. "Should we help him?", asked Pillow. "I'm not sure. He did ruin all of our hopes in finding the perfect home...", said Hackle sarcasticly "I say we help him.", said Silco. "And why is that?", asked Fisca. "C'mon, he's our sargeant; our commander. It looks like he's sorry for his actions.", said Silco, as he watched the Grunt sargeant run for his life, screaming like a women. "Hmm....Ok!", said the Grunt soldiers, as they too watched their sargeant screaming and running for his life. "Alright, men....Attack!!!", cried Fisca, as the small, yet powerful Grunt army charged after the Hunters. The Hunters turned around, as the Grunts charged. One of the Hunters looked up, and Pillow jumped off of the red base, and onto the Hunter's back. "Eat lead, muther buzzer!", said Pillow. "Wrong video-game quote, Pillow!", shouted Hackle, from the other side of the creek. "Oh yeah; then how about.....Stick it!", said Pillow, as he stuck a plasma grenade onto the Hunter's back. Pillow jumped off of the Hunter, and as the plasma grenade went off, the Hunter bursted into several, slimely pieces. Meanwhile, the Grunt sargeant, Silco, and Fisca were hiding behind a rock. "Oh, guys, i'm so sorry, but at the same time, i'm so proud of you.", said the Grunt sargeant. "What's the plan, sarge?", asked Fisca. "Well, I hate to say this, but it seems that my only way out of this situation is set the Elites free. They could be the only ones able to help us.", said the Grunt sargeant. "Hey, if we set the Elites free, maybe we can set things right again.", said Silco. "Maybe so....but I am still very upset with the Prophets and those Brutes after what happened on the beach.", said the Grunt sargeant. "Maybe we can just try to work something out with the Elites after this is all over.", said Silco. "Err....Fine. Lets go...", said the Grunt sargeant. A few moments later, the Grunt sargeant, Silco, and Fisca left the rock, walked to the right of the blue base, walked up the stone path, and into the canyon, where the Elites were slowly rotting away.....

  • Chapter 30: Sarge's Plan After meeting the now kind-hearted Hunters, the Grunts now seemed to be enjoying life for one of the first times in a very long time. With no use for it what-so-ever, the Hunters gave the Grunt's possesion of the red base on the opposite side of the creek. For food, the Hunters picked grapefruits from the creek's beautiful trees. Everyday, the Hunters would give the Grunts half of the amount of food that they received, which was usually in large amounts. After one week of harmony, the Grunts were able to learn the language of the Hunters, but to keep it simple, i'll write the text in English. One day, the Grunt sargeant left his red base and walked over to the blue base to have a word with the Hunters. The Grunt sargeant walked into the blue base, turned to his right, which lead to a small ramp, which then lead to the Hunter's main quaters. It was a not-too-large chamber with blue walls and two windows on the upper left and right sides of the chamber. "Hunter chief, could I ask you something?", asked the Grunt sargeant in Hunter tongue. "Why yes, Grunt commander.", said the Hunter chief. "I was wondering if I could pay a visit to the imprisoned Elites up in the canyon.", said the Grunt sargeant. "Well, I suppose so, but be careful up there.", said the Hunter chief. "Thank you, sir!", said the Grunt sargeant. A moment or two later, the Grunt sargeant left the blue base, turned to his left, and then walked upward towards the canyon. When he was within the canyon area, he turned to his left, and entered a dark chamber with little brightness, due to only two candles inside of the small chamber; each candle on one side of the chamber. The Grunt sargeant could see long, metal bars with miserable-looking Elites imprisoned behind them. "Why, hello, hello!", said the Grunt sargeant. The Elites put their heads up, and looked at their enemy, with purple shadows under their small eyes. "What business do you have here, Grunt?", asked the Arbiter. Next to the Arbiter, chunks of his armor lay rusted, which made him very cold. "I just came by to check and see if you were all still alive, and by the looks of those wrinkles, i'd give ya' all about one week.", said the Grunt sargeant, as he then chuckled. "Let us be. We have no further business with you. You have won....", said the Arbiter embarrassingly. "This war is not quite over, for you see, in this war....nobody can be trusted forever.", said the Grunt sargeant, as he put his hands behind his back. "What are you saying?", asked the Arbiter. "Hehe.....Those dim-witted Hunters won't know what hit them tommorow morning. I plan to imprison them the same way they did to you. You just never know when they could snap and turn their backs on ya'. Ya' know what I mean?", said the Grunt sargeant. "No, don't do this!", said the Arbiter, as he quickly rose up and shook the bars of his cage. "So long, fellas!", said the Grunt sargeant. As the Grunt sargeant left the chamber, he raised his toes into the air, and blew out the candles. He then left the chamber, and used a nearby boulder outside, and closed the cave shut.....
