Think about it... one went into the forest and controlled it... another went in and died...
-
Because Osiris is a wanker and Saint-14 is wholesome AF
-
6 RepliesOne went into the forest, froze time to make it easier for himself then researched the vex after getting exiled from the city after abusing his powers as vanguard commander for his own personal research (from the POV of the speaker anyway) The other went in and fought for centuries without end to save his friend, and kicked the vex’s ass so much they devoted resources to make a vex unit that was designed to drain his light specifically. He still beat it. Also saint is the most lawful good character in destiny, helping civilians, inspiring, and eliminating threats to the city while defending it. Osiris mainly focused on his research into the darkness and vex and only served the city to help it during its last stand, at personal request of another, or if it suited him.

1 ReplyHe killed a kell with his forehead. He’s the most titan titan that’s ever titan’d
-
1 ReplyNice try Brother Vance!
-
Did Osiris control it? Or did one of his trillions of copies try and control it? Seems to me like he keeps messing things up and trying to repair the damage.
-
1 ReplyYes, but Old Silas is creepy. He is a cult leader who groomed Brother Vince. Just listen to the way Brother Cince talks, he is totally obsessed w Old Silas, which is typical of grooming victims.

Edited by Al_05: 12/30/2019 3:39:34 PMBecause Saint was welcomes in the tower and Osiris was exiled
-
4 RepliesDid the vex build osiris a shrine
-
20 RepliesPeople just think he's cool because of his accent. I can guarantee you that if he had Zavala's voice, people would think he's super lame.
-
1 ReplyLol I just imagined Osiris as a pidgeon being fed by Saint 14
cuz he walks around dressed like a bird
-
14 RepliesIf you put Osiris and Saint-14 in a room and told them to kill each other who'd win?
-
Yup from a lock main lol. Plus he has self Rez :0

2 RepliesThat's an Oil and Water comparison. Saint-14 is a paladin. Osiris is a wizard. Paladins are loved, while wizards are often feared and resented. Paladins are warriors that defend virtue and protect those who cannot protect themselves. NATURALLY they will be popular by the nature of what they do. Wizards are people who create new knowledge...usually for its own sake. They are often feared and mistrusted because for every "white Wizard" like Osiris (or Gandalf), you have a dark wizard like Toland (or Saruman/Sauron). Shit, Toland knew that what Eris' fireteam was going to do in going after Crota was a suicide run....but he didnt' care. He saw an opportunity for new knowledge, and if some people needed to die for it, "Oh, well...." But smart/wise people see the value in things that people like Osiris do. Which is part of why Saint-14 went in after Osiris. But at the end of the day, the price of what people like Osiris do, is that you usually only get your validation from history. As people look BACK at what you did through hindsight, and finally realize the value of it.

Are we all just going to disregard the fact in addition to being one of the smartest characters in the story Osiris is also one of the most powerful guardians to ever exist. Looking through the comments I see a lot of "did you see how many dudes this guy killed" going on and if you read the lore you learn that Osiris was pretty lethal.
-
I blame it on the writing, but Osiris doesn't exactly have full control of The Infinite Forest. While he may have had many encounters with the vex during his time there it still seemed like they had little problem capturing him. Even with his projection ability he could not find Saint-14, although this is do to the premise of Perfect Paradox. Saint-14 slaughtered the vex till his last breath, to the point the vex respect him enough to give him a proper burial.
-
1 ReplyI’ve always considered Osiris more of a creepy uncle. It’s nice to have saint around a real father figure to look up too. I mean the way he feeds pigeon is marvelous!
-
Because Saint 14 IS BETTER than Osiris. How many times did we have to clean up Osiris’s mess in the infinite forest. Saint -14 is an absolute unit that killed vex for centuries to the point that I hive minded robot alien race respected him to the point of building him a memorial after they had to resort to cheating to finally kill him. Both are powerful in their own regard but Simply put Osiris is b*tch made compared to Saint.
-
What would constitute acting like one is better than the other? 🤔
-
1 Replyone sat around and did nothing for simulated millenia... one tore apart an army of time-bending killer robots from hell for simulated millenia... osiris is cool and all but he hasn't really done much that's particularly noteworthy. people tell stories and praise the name of saint-14, because he actively does a lot more. i'm not trying to diss osiris, his work is valuable, but saint just does the whole "protect the last city" gig better. plus, he's a very nice young man; osiris is an exile
-
Edited by Alphard: 12/25/2019 5:50:00 PMBecause Osiris is a pompous full of himself asshole? Because Saint is just a giant compassionate teddy bear underneath the armor and exo skin? Because people will be drawn to the more lovable character? You're definition of what makes an individual "better" is convoluted...
-
Saint 14 is an absolute unit though, the man is unstoppable
-
Lmao, yes
-
I'm a titan because of saint. This is by far my favorite season when it comes to lore

11 RepliesSaint survived some 600 years in the Forest, slaying thousands of Vex, without any ability to manipulate timelines or use the Forest to his advantage. He was so immensely powerful that the Vex literally built an Axis Mind with the sole purpose of draining his light and killing him, gave it a name that means "Saint-hunter", and still lost hundreds of Vex units finally killing him. That Axis Mind took so much Vex investment that, if he had won (as he does with our help), the Vex would never have been able to gather enough strength to kill him again. Also, when they capture his ghost and kill it, he continues to fight lightless. In the end, he is so highly respected for his sheer determination that the Vex build him a ceremonial tomb, preserving him in light, surrounded by the scraps of Vex he obliterated. He also kills a yellow bar Minotaur by wrapping a Goblin around it and headbutting its juice box. If Osiris tried that, there would be a crunch and a squish and a very dead Osiris

Because Saint is a sexy -blam!-
-
12 RepliesWhat about Zavala, also a Titan. But Saint is so much cooler and gung -blam!- then Zavala that I, 'personally' and ready to push Zavala over the railing and move Saint out there after The Dawning!
