I know cluster bombs are THE thing for cheesing certain raid bosses (or were until people realized splash damage was bad), but why do they seem so weak everywhere else?
I can shoot a rocket at an elite enemy surrounded by red bars, the rocket will explode and the cluster bombs will detonate spectacularly but... all the red bars will usually still be alive.
Where exactly does the extra damage go? To the impact site? Nowhere? Feedback would be appreciated.
Edit: ok, they were nerfed back in March. Missed that one. Kind of makes me wonder why the perk still exists anymore, other than to imitate fireworks.

2 RepliesBecause of a Riven cheese that existed due to a combination that included cluster rockets.

3 RepliesWhats funny is that they nerfed cluster bombs damage by 80% but all the curated rocket launchers have clusters on them: Bad Omens - tracking/clusters Apex Predator - snapshot sights/clusters Bellowing Giant - tracking/clusters Heretic - demolitionist/clusters So they dont want us to only use clusters as a perk on rockets but damn all the curated rolls have it :)

Clusters are just a visual effect now. Enemies can be standing right in it and take no damage at all.

2 RepliesI think they exist to make people feel like they have something similar to Gjallarhorn. 😂

Roar of the bear is a good alternative. Insane damage especially with blast radius MW.

Idk. maybe because they were nerfed.

Nerfed by 85%

5 RepliesBecause clusters spread is bad . Also...cluster rocket is still best damage per shot on riven...but they removed autoloading abilities.

They nerfed clusterbombs damage because it too greatly was favored as a perk over all others. These aren't my words they are bungies. Clusterbombs used to kill people in crucible pretty easily and made up about 30-40% of the rockets damage. After nerfing clusterbombs significantly, they put about a 60% buff onto the rocket itself, which IS better for rockets as a whole. Clusterbombs just feel like crap now though, but they still do extra damage.
