I'm on a PS4 PRO, ever since D2 launch I started noticing frames drop from time to time, no big deal, definitely worth the better graphics.
But ever since Shadowkeep, my PS4 PRO fan has been running so loud and the console has been getting hot just sitting in orbit or scrolling menus. I clean my console every few weeks properly so I know there is no dust built up inside etc and other games run just fine.
It has become so bad that enemies in PVE are teleporting, PVP is unplayable and loading menus is like trying to load a YouTube video on a calculator.
I've seen other posts similar to this, but we still don't get a response. I'm afraid that this issue is being ignored until the next generation of consoles is launched.
There is an easy fix that many other games are using right now, most recently Borderlands 3, give the user the option to set their graphics preferences. Example, BL3 asks if you want to see more pixels or have faster frame respones. I chose more frames and honestly the drop in pixels is barely noticeable while there are very few dropped frames even while running end game multi player co-op activities with a million grenades and rockets rendering mid arena simultaneously.
We need a fix on this before next gen.

That kind of funny at the peak levels of D1 there was a estimated 20 million players all on consoles both Xbox & PS4 and it was not much problems but since they introduced pc it’s been one problem after another. Far as I’m concerned this game should stay a consoles exclusive game. Pc uses have no right to be here

2 RepliesAnybody just waiting to see people show up and say "pc is better"?

[the loading screens and frame are is mostly an issue with current gen consoles, which can’t all run 60fps and last I checked even the Pro and One X don’t have the SSD’s that would reduce load times that thankfully the next gen is including.]

1 Reply1.) when the game was first released, consoles ran it just fine (at least my son's did). 2.) people obviously want and ask for new and exciting content each year to continue the entertainment 3.) bungie wants people to continue playing so they try to develop the new and exciting content people are craving 4.) bungie adds new content to game requiring additional hardware resources to load/handle said new content. 5.) people complain that static hardware 'can't handle this game properly'. *sigh*

4 RepliesMy original launch brick of a PS4 is running the same as always except for load times. After playing Anthem though, I have appreciation for D2s load screens now. Anthem has some long load screens.

14 RepliesDestiny is locked at 30 fps on all consoles. The strain is coming from these consoles having obsolete processors, and the machine having to run both the game and its networking. Next gen will solve the problem, because both MS and Sony are putting much more powerful CPUs in the Series X and PS5. But if your machine is running hot, you May have a problem with the fan.

Edited by Fujimoose: 12/17/2019 6:20:09 PMMy ps4 gets hot too. It started when I downloaded the cod modern warfare beta. But my system would get so hot my system would crash. I thought there was dust built up on my fan. I took the cover off but to my surprise everything was fine. There was barely any dust. There wasn't anything keeping the fans from moving. I deleted the beta. But once in a while I get the message that the ps4 is too hot but it doesn't crash anymore. If I'm busy doing something I ignore the message. I usually turn it off though.

Got yourself a PlayStation instead of the most powerful console available. There's your problem.
