Is it just me or is it a bad system to have it so that once you hit 960, the only thing that can level your LL is pinnacle, but then it is uncommon for groups doing activities to get pinnacle engrams to be comfortable with LL lower than 965+? Worse still is that bungie doesn't offer matchmaking for pinnacle engram activities, so that matchmaking for people 960 is out of bungie's control. One could say that the people in the groups are just being overly picky about LL, that a 960 LL is very capable of doing master hunts and nightfalls and bungie has made those activities very doable by LL 960, so the problem is that bungie doesn't think its necessary to make a matchmaking system where they can have influence on those standards. I see people bummed out about destiny 2 not getting gaming awards, but its an mmo with endgame group content without a group finding system...

155 RepliesCurrently, higher tier activities don't have matchmaking enabled because a certain amount of teamwork and coordination are required to complete them. Raids require the most coordination and then the higher tier Ordeal and Nightmare Hunts require players to make sure they are setting their load-outs to account for different Champions they will face. I'll continue to let the team know that you would like endgame matchmaking enabled or and end game LFG system added in the future.

Let's all stop being butthurt for one second and really think about this. The only way to add matchmaking to raids is to make 2 different difficulty modes for the raid. The matchmaking one would just have to be easier with much easier and obvious to understand mechs. Which is really a good idea more people will experience the story behind the raid and so on. The none match made raid could have a extra secret boss for the hard core crowd to make it more appealing. And also a special exotic only available in the none match made one. As a side note no I havent really done any raids. One time in leviathan amd one time in riven cheese. And there was nothing really mechanics wise that was at all difficult to understand and easily mastered after one or two tries. But I have a background in raiding mythic in WOW where there are many many more mechanics in a boss fight.(just look up a guide for the mythic jania fight or azhara fight its literal pages of mechs not just dunk this ball here shoot this crystal with someone else).

this is a historically bad take and shows how little thought you actually put into this. Go do a Raid with relatively new people. now imagine trying to do a raid with newish people that you matchmade with who aren't on coms. Good luck ever completing that one. you will be laughably stuck, likely on some encounter prior to the final boss. Also they added guided games and look how that turned out. Long queue times because nobody wants to deal with a random who isn't on coms and has no info about the raid your going into. matchmaking pinnacle activities is a shit idea and i hope bungie lets us matchmake anyways just so you can see how terribly it goes. enjoy your 12+ hour raid that isn't even a day 1 raid.

Why does the word "Optional" breeze right thru the ears of people? Bungie has already shown they can have matchmaking OPTIONS on activities. Put it on everything.

6 RepliesEvery time I do a 920 Ordeal Nightfall, there's one dumbass that runs right past the champions, and often he drags us forward before we kill every champion. If people like this exist, matchmaking for anything Master/Legend level or raids will never work

1 ReplyEverything other than raids should have matchmaking tbh

1 ReplyLiterally make your own lfg for first timers and sherpas it takes 2 seconds on xbox live. I cant speak to other platforms but there are so many ways to do this without matchmaking. Tldr: git gud
-
Complete agree. I am stuck at 960 too. I play alone for the most time or i need a matchmaking option. But to exclude people without clan or solo players from top tier seems very unfair.
-
There are tons of things that keep this game from being "top tier" this sure isn't one of them
-
Remember they don't want johny two sticks or whatever to be playing. So having in game systems actually make the game functional for the majority that are going to play is not what they are after. You either are willing to put up with Bungie's lack of effort and carelessness or they want you to leave. They've also cultivated a wonderful community that is not even the least bit hesitant about being hostile to you either. They regularly boast about it even.
-
1 ReplyNo, it quite frankly doesn't. God forbid you people actually got raid matchmaking implemented instead of guided games and then tried it to learn that a team of 6 people unwilling to use lfg probably aren't the sort who'll be able to sort through their differences and make it through the raid. Think about it. There will be no way to remove uncooperative players, underleveled players, foreign players, enforce mic usage etc.

2 RepliesEdited by MouthMaggot: 12/18/2019 3:43:31 AMJust another BS Bungies way or the highway . All these people in here claiming you can have randoms complete it are just being turds You go use lfg or whatever 3rd party you use to get a group and you never used the in game one what would it matter to you if others did ? Another great example of people crying over shit that wouldn't effect them just to pretend they more important than the rest .

Truth is, game was rigged from the start...

This game has no end game content for solo players. On top of that there are several quest throughout the game that requires fireteam but has no match making

There is LFG for endgame content, but ok..
-
Heaps of ways to get endgame done. Join an active clan that regularly raids. Post your own LFG with requirements. Make friends from matchmade activities. I'm a solo player and get pinnicles done on all toons if life doesn't get in the way to much.
-
Your lack of skill in finding teammates keeps you from being a top tier player. Day or night, Tuesday or Monday I have no problem finding people for common activities like nightfalls, nightmare hunts or PoH on the very LFG built into this website. Raids would be ridiculous matchmade. Ultimately things would have to be dumbed down for matchmaking. And for what? So you can do pinnacles... to do pinnacles... to do pinnacles? I know it's a number to chase but if you're super casual and will not work cooperatively to do difficult content, why do you need a high light level at all?

8 RepliesEdited by Jibunnokage: 12/17/2019 5:25:10 AMEvery single D2 LFG group I have joined has been a horrible experience... they are either yelling at each other, or screaming at those of us that join existing teams. Just plain horrible experience, talking trash or worse is typical. Makes the entire process quite toxic. I am sure there are some chill, cool, players using LFG, but they seem to be missing in action when I have tried to use LFG. Really seems like D2 players are ruder or meaner than I recall D1 players being? Or maybe just got lucky during D1 days.

I haven't seen anyone asking for 965+ for nightfalls or nightmare hunts... maybe for the master nightfall but that's about it. Tried the master nightfall on my alt at 950 and got deleted 😂🤣

People can’t handle Alter of Sorrows and Escalation Protocols and you want to suffer in a raid. All this would do is bump up the suicide rate a few notches and cause more posts on here crying about lowering the difficulty. I’d much rather use a third party LFG to at least get people with enough desire to search for a group on their own.
-
1 ReplyI know plenty of MMOs that don't have matchmaking for endgame content (aka raids) WoW does for some really basic raids I am aware though. at the moment the majority of players are around 960-965 light, so idk what you are talking about with people being picky. The only way you are above 970 light is if you grinded levels on your artifact like I did
-
I mean to be honest a lack of LFG isn't whats keeping Destiny from being a top tier game. Bungie is what's keeping Destiny from being a top tier game.
-
Some of the content yes but not raids

1 ReplyLook it’s this thread again this month. Should they have a recruiting chat or LFG feature in game...yes. But console has LFG for all games now and then we have discord. No excuse for not doing these activities. Oh the requested level or completion number is higher...make your own group!!! I still see people posting for first clears every week. No reason you can’t. Trust me you don’t want MM in raids. You need communication! You need to talk! Not only that but you need to be mildly competent. I mean I’ve sat back and watched people unable to dunk the void charge on Savathuns song strike. or miss simple jumps. Not to mention the terrible load outs. Keep it no MM! Also it’s surprising/not surprising that this community can’t figure out oh you’re looking to raid. Hang out at the tower bar. Oh you want to do dungeon, hang out at the noodle stand. Everyone gets the picture. Would help you introverts or those too lazy to go on LFG.

1 ReplyI'd rather not have to leave a Legend or Master Ordeal Nightfall because 1 or more of my teammates are 920 not packing any appropriate mods.
