Ranged melees need to count for melee kill objectives
I missed my undying title because I was using the arc ranged melee and it didnt count for the triumph. I was running around killing vex with celestial fire, and it didnt count. It is pretty dumb to give us a new MELEE attack that wont count towards objectives in the season it was released

4 RepliesSome handy tips: if you're doing account wide (ie. triumphs) that need melee ability kills, especially arc; -Jump on titan, top tree arc, equip insurmountable skullfort and infinitely shoulder charge trash mobs -Jump on titan, bottom tree arc, punch things, it always procs melee ability kills if you're doing account wide or character specific: -equip sword, drain ammo, empty ammo hilt strikes count as melee ability kills [spoiler]you're welcome[/spoiler]

7 RepliesSo just so I understand you were going for undying and didnt get it because the melees werent counting....did you not bother to check over the season? Did you not find it out that the triumph never popped up? No clue as to why the percentage bar wasnt moving? You just got a bunch of melee kills and left it at that and didnt check your triumph completion or see what was still missing? Should those things be changed to count as melee kills? Sure. Is it bungie or anyone else fault that you didnt check and lost out on undying? Nope, that's all on you

Regardless of whatever else, ranged melee attacks should still consistently count as melees. If you have top tree Dawn and the Ahamkara gauntlets that give you a second melee charge, you get two charges of Celestial Fire, your melee ability. Then if you go and farm kills with this setup for a bounty that requires melee kills, it won't count. This isn't consistent.

2 RepliesBoth are the equivalent of the throwing knives for the hunter and the throwing hammer for titans. As much as they are the melee ability it none of them count as a melee.

I feel like the horse has already bolted on this one! It's not even last minute, it's last season! If you had complained during last season, fair enough... you may have received a few troll posts, but you may have received advice on how to get it done very quickly! If you knew it wasn't counting and wanted the seal, why have you waited so long??

I agree it should count. Hell it's not like you're pressing the grenade button. You're pressing the MELEE button. Just my $0.02

If I’m not mistaken using arc super or spectral blades rb attack counted as melee kills, so I would just go into a lost sector and go ham with my super.

1 ReplyPretty sure throwing maul counts as a melee kill. The triumph might've been bugged. Dunno about the Warlock grenade melees tho.

13 RepliesOkay, okay, hear me out. If I pick up a rock and hit you with it, that's a melee attack. If I throw that rock at you, that's a ranged attack. Ranged attacks are not melee attacks, even if your hand is, at some point, involved in their release.

Yea it should count. There are bounties that I try to do for just xp to level up the artifact and the new melee ability for top tree dawnblade doesnt work for it.

As a community, you should join together in unity to get problems fixed, even if they don't affect you. Some people do just that, but a large percentage jump on the person. It is like, "If you get your problem fixed, then that hurts me". No, it doesn't. Don't act like a bunch of children trying to find your way in a society that really isn't all about or centered on you, or a bunch of adults who just can't grow up mentally or socially. Oh. A lot of you fit that description. Never mind.

5 RepliesMelee means hand to hand. Not fireball to face, not throwing knife, nothing ranged. Melee is literally hand to hand.
