Why is our armour left behind and what direction is this game going?

Not a fan of this. You know how long and frustrating it was grinding EP armour every week for one piece? Hoping the piece that dropped was Arc, had high stats AND wasn’t a piece I had before. I done EP every week since shadowkeep and only needed the chest, rest wee all duplicates. Now dawn arrives and your telling me that set is now useless? I masterworked it why? What’s the point in literally doing anything in this game now armour wise if it’s gonna be going next season? Mods disappearing every season, never really being able to hold onto Builds? How can masterworking be so expensive at the same time as there being Hardly anyway to get the materials? Wouldn’t it make sense to...I don’t know...make all armour ornaments? One set of each affinity and we grind ornaments? Where are the ornaments missing from the armour 2.0 trailer? What is this game now anyway? Can’t be a collection game because there isn’t a enough vault space and we can’t pull any random rolls out of collections which is most gear now. Can’t be loot game because they just isn’t enough loot for that and the loot that is there is reskins? Definitely not a PvP game, that “renewed focus” is no where to be seen, no new maps and nerfs left right and centre. So what is destiny now? A rinse repeat season simulator? I’m just confused by the direction of the game, I want to be able to use anything I’ve been rewarded with In the game, I want to be able to hold on to builds and bring them out/change them up whenever, but the game is changing none stop. Cant use new mods on old armour, artefacts gone every season so can’t save builds, bungie chooses what weapons we are to use by only allowing those mods in the artefact. I think you guys need to step back, and look at your game as a whole, really look though. Look at what made D1 so great and aspects of D2 you were praised for, look at what people enjoyed, and stick to it. D1 was a beta? Then what is D2 because launch was nothing like D1 and now we’re into a whole new way of delivering content. Is this another beta? More consumables every season yet no update to the space we have to hold them. You introduce armour 2.0 but but then activities like EP that reward good looking stuff is locked to one piece a week. You don’t have someone looking and double checking stuff like this? And oh btw, EP chest isn’t rewarding loot after the update. Glad someone doubled checked this to... Catalyst like sleeper still locked behind a raid no one does anymore, no at Bungie picked up on this? Vendors haven’t seen a reset in years ahahaha actual years lmfao “evolving world” only thing evolving about any planetary vendor in the past 2 years is the ever evolving boredom I have when getting a package.... Not to worry, eververse is bursting with goodies though, every season, every week.... Exotics.....that we earned....over years of gameplay....And grinding....that seem to be rarer than any decent patch notes .....CANT even be taken from collection with proper affinities or stats. How many times do I need to get the same exotic? Instead of being an evolving and progressive world, it’s now a loop, rinse and repeat seasons with hardly anything carrying over to the next to show for our time. When is there ever gonna be a “you had to be there moment” if I have nothing from the last season to show for it. As it stands now, I don’t think I would say to anyone who didn’t play Season of the undying “you had to be there man” because there wasn’t anything. It’s all gone now. Personally I much preferred the DLC form of content. So what’s going on? All time, recourses, care and funding going towards your new game with Netease? Is that why making destiny content is “hard” or is it just you guys have lost passion for this game? Who’s enjoying this? If you are great. If you aren’t, what’s your views?

  • not only that now they removed content from the game to add it to the season pass, and the people who paid for each and every one of the dlc were like idiots buying dlc thinking that we would have all the content of the dlc but the truth is that we have to pay more money to have the content of the game, otherwise you get nothing.

Digital revenue for Bungie is around $300 million in 2019 thus far. Destiny 2 is going in the precise direction Luke "throw money at the screen" wanted it go.

        • You know i really really miss the d1 days when stuff was alot easier and more simple. We got a raid, and that raid usually had the best gear, all you had to do was do the raid every week an try an get every armor piece and weapon. No stats(except the ones linked to you're skill tree) all gear around the same. Even when it was changed abit atleast those gear sets lasted us till the next expansion. But now its like i grind and grind and grind trying to catch up and get the best stats and weapons an gear, spent hours grinding nightfalls to get my prism so i could actually upgrade my gear. That gear lasted me a month as im now behind again. My light level pushed back to 950, im now being forced to use scout rifles and bows to do anit-barrier(makes everything a ton harder for me now). Any build i conjure up and try to perfect will be made useless the next season. They said these seasons are for content droughts between expansions but whats the point of making content if its dead boring and just maked everyone reset. Pay $10, pass go, everything you own is now useless, you now have 90 days to up your game and get a new build together before we inevitably make that one also useless by next season. Im no longer having any fun with this game, i play and play since d1 and frankly im losing interest. This game now feels like a chore, i pay $10(not alot but still) so i can grind yet another half baked season dungeon to get the new gear so that i can make a new build again and again. Even raids for me have lost their touch, d1 they were fun, they werent to hard to learn really after some basic explaining. Now its you have to solve the rubic cube in 30 seconds or you're going to be kicked and replaced because you can't learn in the time that these raiding clans demand. The grind in this game has become to much and its so sad seeing this game go this route. The devs seem to have no respect for player time or commitment anymore, that cool gear set i got from season 8? toss it in the garbage can its useless now. That cool exotic i got with super nice stats that i cheered for finally gettting, useless after 90 days. Bungie doesn't care anymore and this time we can't blame it on activision. i've spent to much time and money on this game and this games doesn't seem to give anything back anymore. i wish i could still love this game but i just can't. Things really need to shape up, bungie needs to start listening.

I’d say armor is the one thing as a community right now we’d all agree is in a strange spot (as it always seems to be) There are things I like about armor 2.0 but between the elemental affinities and essentially pressing reset every 3 months is a tough sell. I’d imagine somewhere down the line Bungie will be tweaking how armor in destiny works again. Outside of that though I like the new season, sundial is fun and the story mission was fantastic. I felt as if I got my $10 worth and we still have more to get to.

As I've said before. The armor is usable. The armor should just have the seasonal mods. all armor should be able to use raid mods and nightmare mods. As for the direction it's going? They are stagnant. They are pleasing the lionshare of the community but they are staying in the middle of the road. The 5 minutes per week Bettys and the hardcore Harrys aren't getting enough juice to keep it going. I see what they want to do but I believe in the end, they should swing towards the more hardcore fanbase and stop catering to those who can't commit to the game. I can't say they are incompetent. They truly are stubborn and passionate enough to continue this game. I can say that in due time, they need to stop caring how people feel and bite down and finish their game the way it should be done. Watch, all the crap that's been bogging down D2 will be nonexistent in d3.

              • The biggest problem with Armor 2.0 coming from someone who’s just started D2 after playing D1 for three years is it doesn’t really let you create the builds you want, at least not with huge hassle compared to D1. Back in D1 I had an armour set for every build I thought I would want and all my armour sets be they vendor, raid etc had the same stat distribution intellect/strength or intellect/discipline in D1 resilience/mobility/recovery could be changed independently. Because I only kept pieces with a matching stat distribution I ended up with sets I could easily combine. If I wanted a high strength or a discipline build for example. It was never confusing as all the pieces I had had only ever had two different stat distributions, if I wanted to use an exotic I’d slot it straight in with no worrying about it affecting the stat distribution as my exotics had the same stats as the rest of my armor. Yes it took a while to get the Armor pieces I wanted but I always knew I’d get there. After playing a whole season of undying and stashing everything in the vault I decided to look at what I’d acquired and see what I can do with it. Luckily I had some high stat iron banner gear and one set combined with very few points wasted. The only problem is I spent something like two hours chopping and changing armor pieces to find that combination that didn’t waste a lot of stat points and that was pretty not fun and not something I’d want to do each time I want to experiment with a new build. The fix is in my view quite simple, much like you can choose what mods you want, let people change the stats, if an armour drops with a total of 56, then let people take it to the gunsmith or wherever and give them 23 points to spend on the top and bottom three stats, if people want to keep the stats it dropped with fine but if they want to change it let them do that, if they want to make it really expensive to do this fine, but at least With a system like that I could with time build the the armor I want, and build the exotics with similar/matching stat distribution to fit into the armour sets I create without loosing any stat synergy.

                • I’d love an actual Bungie response on this. Haven’t seen one response from Bungie to seasonal mods only being available on brand new armour. I want to know if this is the plan going forward. Because if so, there’s no point grinding out armour any more.

                • They are going in a bad direction. All armor should, including exotic, should just have a extra universal mod slot for seasonal and raid mods. I am not re-grinding fear on my Warlock anymore. I just won’t use the seasonal mods at all. I have the stats where I want them and the affinity I want on each.

                • Problem is that the system for armor and inventory is nowhere near to be suited for that diversity .. changing armor mods is painfully slow and annoying .. going from nightmarehunts and changing in between raidcencounters .. the whole system was nowhere enough gear slots or is fast enough to use the mods in the way they work now . The system was designed to have one set of armor , to max that one and never change it .. the entire process of slotting mods is nowhere practical .. controlling 5x4 slots with 5 of them being unique ? You even have forge mods ?? That’s not working ..

the big problem is destiny is over 5 years old and bungie has been using the same mechanics and formula over and over again (not adapting, adding new events, new ideas just the same bland boring milestones) every week do the rest goals gain re-skinned weapons and armour from a seriously limited loot table issue same generic loot every week, new dlc arrives complete all story mission (3 to 4 Missions) do the exotic quests only to receive a bland boring exotic that is so overly balanced it no longer fit to have the title exotic, these days bungie are now introducing exotic weapons that aid team in defeating raid bosses this become a thing these days i do not like it id prefer a cool powerful exotic. and Now i believe bungie is getting lazy they cannot be bothered putting any effort into making new content. There are games to day that can completely out shadow destiny. Destiny is old and becoming seriously bland and boring. And ever-verse will just push players with sense to keep their wallet shut away. I bought the whole expansion pass and ive lost the will to live or even play destiny their was a new pinicle weapon a fusion rifle for crucible but then i realised you need to be doing competitive since im not pvp maverick good luck completing that quest so theire no real reason for me to play destiny, can i be bothered doing the weakly reset NO doing the same strikes/cruibal/gambet/nightfalls/raids over and over again just to get same generic gear from a loot table with such a limited pool of weapons all bland and boring. I believe if i die and god sentences me to hell i believe ill be forced to play destiny for eternity until it breaks me!!

Bungies incompetence level is unreal, the state of Destiny 2 is a shame in its own right. And the sad fact is, its not get better. The people who are responsible for the direction need to be fired asap, they are the weakest link, and as long they are in control of Destiny franchise, the project is doomed. How can you repair something, when you not repair the source of the problem. Destiny 3 will have the same fate, how do i know? Because when you -blam!- up badly in leading positions multiple times, you are clearly not fit to lead any project, and the longer you stay, the harder it gets to repair all the damage. And you see the pattern of the damage since the release of D2, its not just 1 person, but a few individuals are responsible for all that mess, future content included. Square Enix had similar problems with FF14, but they used the right people for the job to work the problems out, now the director there is like a god to the FF online community.

                              • My big issue with not getting a vendor refresh is Eververse has a team dedicated to making items for it. Raids have a raid team. Crucible a crucible team, and etc. Why isn’t there a vendor team or something of the sorts?

                              • Yeah I hear you. Seems really fruitless to even bother with the grind. I went hard in Undying and thought I had created a couple decent armour builds. I see that the new Dawn(green)mods won’t work on this gear. I complete the 100K NF with double pulse rifles. 1-with Unstoppable and 1-with Anti-barrier and think this sucks. It’s plink plink plink boring gameplay but I’m forced to use only certain guns that will take the mods needed. (Bows and Scouts are the others) Overall after 1 day of playing getting my artifact up to 8 I can honestly say that I’m not excited by what I’ve experienced. I’ll give the Sundial a few more runs and complete the quests. Raiding is about the only activity worth doing or so it seems. We shall see. I definitely feel a mass player exodus will occur. Hardly anyone(except new players)will be playing this game over the holidays. Damn, D2 is really starting to suck!
