Not a fan of this. You know how long and frustrating it was grinding EP armour every week for one piece?
Hoping the piece that dropped was Arc, had high stats AND wasn’t a piece I had before.
I done EP every week since shadowkeep and only needed the chest, rest wee all duplicates.
Now dawn arrives and your telling me that set is now useless? I masterworked it why? What’s the point in literally doing anything in this game now armour wise if it’s gonna be going next season? Mods disappearing every season, never really being able to hold onto Builds?
How can masterworking be so expensive at the same time as there being Hardly anyway to get the materials? Wouldn’t it make sense to...I don’t know...make all armour ornaments? One set of each affinity and we grind ornaments? Where are the ornaments missing from the armour 2.0 trailer?
What is this game now anyway? Can’t be a collection game because there isn’t a enough vault space and we can’t pull any random rolls out of collections which is most gear now.
Can’t be loot game because they just isn’t enough loot for that and the loot that is there is reskins?
Definitely not a PvP game, that “renewed focus” is no where to be seen, no new maps and nerfs left right and centre.
So what is destiny now? A rinse repeat season simulator? I’m just confused by the direction of the game, I want to be able to use anything I’ve been rewarded with In the game, I want to be able to hold on to builds and bring them out/change them up whenever, but the game is changing none stop.
Cant use new mods on old armour, artefacts gone every season so can’t save builds, bungie chooses what weapons we are to use by only allowing those mods in the artefact.
I think you guys need to step back, and look at your game as a whole, really look though. Look at what made D1 so great and aspects of D2 you were praised for, look at what people enjoyed, and stick to it. D1 was a beta? Then what is D2 because launch was nothing like D1 and now we’re into a whole new way of delivering content. Is this another beta?
More consumables every season yet no update to the space we have to hold them.
You introduce armour 2.0 but but then activities like EP that reward good looking stuff is locked to one piece a week. You don’t have someone looking and double checking stuff like this? And oh btw, EP chest isn’t rewarding loot after the update. Glad someone doubled checked this to...
Catalyst like sleeper still locked behind a raid no one does anymore, no at Bungie picked up on this?
Vendors haven’t seen a reset in years ahahaha actual years lmfao “evolving world” only thing evolving about any planetary vendor in the past 2 years is the ever evolving boredom I have when getting a package....
Not to worry, eververse is bursting with goodies though, every season, every week....
Exotics.....that we earned....over years of gameplay....And grinding....that seem to be rarer than any decent patch notes .....CANT even be taken from collection with proper affinities or stats. How many times do I need to get the same exotic?
Instead of being an evolving and progressive world, it’s now a loop, rinse and repeat seasons with hardly anything carrying over to the next to show for our time. When is there ever gonna be a “you had to be there moment” if I have nothing from the last season to show for it.
As it stands now, I don’t think I would say to anyone who didn’t play Season of the undying “you had to be there man” because there wasn’t anything. It’s all gone now. Personally I much preferred the DLC form of content.
So what’s going on? All time, recourses, care and funding going towards your new game with Netease? Is that why making destiny content is “hard” or is it just you guys have lost passion for this game?
Who’s enjoying this? If you are great. If you aren’t, what’s your views?

I am a relatively recent player of Destiny. Only about three months or so. What struck me is the defensive, angry attitude from management towards their customers - us, the players. I have been called a "weasel" - which basically means not a nice person - and banned for apparently simultaneously logging in from more than one account. In fact I have only one account and only one profile in it as Titan. So that was not possible for me to do. In a recent post the director called players "procrastinators". That's contempt! Perhaps this explains your observations.

4 RepliesAs I said way back during the dark days of D1, the problem with this franchise is not a Activision/Bungie thing, it’s a leadership/management issue. Constantly repeating the same mistakes, no quality control and/or testing of new eco-systems, lack of asking basic questions on how updates/changes will affect the gameplay, ignoring glaring issues for months on end, lack of quality of life improvements, focusing on creating disposable content, lack of finding ways to incorporate single players into all the content that is releases (remember when the VoG raid area became an open place for single players to do new mission stories?), constant nerfing of guns/perks because “balance” and now ignoring end-game PvP for most of D2? We all know there are a lot of passionate, talented people who have/are working on this game. The problem is the leadership/management side has been a train wreck from Day 1 of the D1 days. No coherent vision, inability to communicate with the player base effectively, constantly “fixing” what isn’t broke while introducing all new systems that are maddeningly frustrating for the players. The original vision of this game is what I think most dedicated players have been hanging onto for years now. A constantly evolving universe that builds off the existing universe in some coherent fashion. There was a lot of great lore out there originally, but it got buried by decisions to not incorporate it in the game, to not tell a coherent story through gameplay, to start adding sloppy story telling and adding contradictory lore, etc. I recently went back and played the original D1 campaign. Sure, looking back it was it’s own mess in many ways, but the potential and passion was still there. Now it’s a shell of its former self and it’s all about monetization. Sad.

Here’s another thought... Bungie has left Destiny on life support and this is as good as it gets. They apparently have moved onto “bigger and better things”.

Find it fascinating so far no GM response on this. Normally even DMG has commented but not even Cozmo at this point. So assuming they might read this. DMG or Cozmo simply tell them to unlock all armors that have the season mod slot to be able to use any season based mods. This way the armors we work hard for and spend a shit load on a golf ball for. Doesn’t go to waste. Make this change by next tuesday us date and this games reputation likely will turn around. You guys are far worse than any free to play mmo/rpg I have ever played in monetized methods, content, and respect of its players. If your trying to destroy any legacy left then don’t make this change. Your seasons are failing, read these forums. People have began jumping ship on the paying money part. We can just wait to play for free and later.

This obsolescence of gear has been part of the game sine the beginning,as has the constant bringing back of old gear to grind anew for the new version as if it’s actually new. There’s zero imagination in the development of this game, as illustrated by the blatant copying of the battle pass model of Fortnite.

Excellent post. I was pretty irritated myself having just leveled up my Iron Banner Armor Set because I like the stats, just to find that I can’t use the new Dawn Armor Mods on it. Also, the stupid Dawn Armor sets are dropping at 1 or 2 energy, meaning I have to spend more resources just to level them enough to use the new Dawn Armor Mod. If every season is going to nullify the previous one, then there is no point to doing any of the seasonal activities. Bungie promised to get more custom ability in our builds, but in truth they have become more restrictive and inefficient.
-
Wow this post got buried. And no reply from bungo. Sucks.
-
People complain yet keep throwing money at them. As you can see from lack of response from bungie even though huge community response, they are to busy counting money.
-
2 Repliesalmost a thousand upvotes and no response from Bungie

Agree, so many promises from Bungie but nothing happend. I played every day 3-4 Hours but since 4 Weeks i cant motivate myself to play D2. That shit pretty Hurts because i love the Destiny Universe. I dont understand why they dont listen to the Community on this Forum. Yeah i know its pretty Toxic language (sometimes me including tbh) here but damn Bungie these People here in this Forum are your "core" Members we want this game to succeed. I know its not a easy task, but please just try it Step by Step. We dont need new Content if the old one is still not Working. We all know the Gaming Sector is a hard business but please listen to the Community here.

Great post and so true. That's why I stopped playing. Don't have fun anymore. Hopefully destiny 3 will be the game we want
-
Very well said. I sincerely hope that Bungie will address these core issues. The game does so many things right. The combat, art style and design, and the overall atmosphere and tone of the game are so satisfying. Clearly, there is a lot of talent at Bungie. However, from a systems perspective, Bungie really misses the mark. Whether it be acquiring/customizing armor and weapons through layers upon layers of RNG only to have the next sandbox update make everything you worked for rendered obsolete... Or having certain quests/content being tied to a character as opposed to being tied to your entire account, so you have to jump through the same hoops on three separate characters to access the quests/content... Or older content being entirely abandoned when it could still be incorporated into the game... Why do attributes on armor not roll in increments of 10, so there's no wasted stats? Why is there no way to customize the attributes on armor within reason? Why is it that you can't use any armor in the collections tab as an ornament? Where is the player agency? I'm critical of this game because I love it... but I know it can be so much better.
-
This is disappointing and will be a big reason I play this season lightly. Taking a break for now.
-
Sleeper got the nerf of death because of lazy developers. Bungie said, "become legend", Bungie also said, "oh, people are having fun!? Nerf! Nerf! Nerf!".
-
1 ReplyThe thought of having to start over every 3 months just kills this for me, I will probably become a lot more casual now.
-
3 RepliesPersonally I don’t like seasonal mods. I’m keeping my armor and only equipping permanent mods. Keeps it simple
-
1 ReplyIt’s going south, I mean SOUTH, like more south then it’s been going over past few years. ☝️ would a most say it’s gone so SOUTH, that the next dlc gunna be called south of the southern boarder.
-
It's an exotic collection game for me. Looking forward to spending $2,000+ on a solid gold engram for collecting every exotic in the game!
-
2 RepliesRound in circles springs to mind, it's just a ride we can get off whenever we want
-
I honestly think destiny 2 is now a money maker for bungie which they are trying to put the least amount of effort into while getting the most return...hence the enormous focus on eververse. I think they are putting a lot of their resources into other projects now so they literally can't support this game they way they did in the past. This year is also the first year of no outside studio help as well. I just expect this is the way it will be from now on.
-
1 ReplyJust view everything through the lens of profit made with the least effort and it makes sense. Bungle is trying to convince us that grinding for temporary rng gear is fun. It’s not and they are risking a total collapse of their player base.
-
Takes the entire season to get character to 959 with all masterworked armor/gear. Hordes weekly bounties the week before the new season to move forward on reset quicker. Downloads updated. Boom! all your armor you grinded for is obsolete..... Realizes the entire season was a waste, smh.....
-
Good overview of the things I’m frustrated with also. Love the game but man...so annoying at times.
-
This would not be egregious if last season's mods were still useful. The Vex Offensive is gone. I do not mind this model but the armor should be adaptable. We can slay gods, walk through time, and die/revive repeatedly....but change out our mod slots?!! Whoah whoah, way too hard for us. This does not effect PVP at all, which is where I play mostly. However, it is definitely an unforced error or a bad design decision. At the very least, masterworking is absolutely pointless.
-
I love Destiny but I am also frustrated with how everything is working in the game. The game is forcing you to play a certain way due to the artifact mods and armor being essentially useless after a season ends. What ever happened to play how you want with what you want? I get that Bungie is a little less equipped than before but the direction is confusing. To me an ideal "season" would be traditional expansions like they did with Dark Below and House of Wolves. Bring back some actual story missions, a strike, raid or end game activity like P.O.E. I like the battle pass system more than just a random bright engram in the past. But maybe after hitting max level reward at least bright engrams again instead of nothing. I HATE the artifact. Just let us gain additional level with XP and not have it rely on an Artifact that forces us to use certain weapons and mods that wont matter later. Plus I was under the impression that the seasonal transitions were can't miss live events. Fornite can have mechs and monsters fighting with concerts being held yet we can't even get an explanation on where the hell Ikora's dish went over night. Idk. I'm just confused as to what the hell this game is trying to be. I love playing it. The weapon design and gun play is phenomenal I just don't get what the point of this game is anymore lol. I'm sitting here last night trying to find 30 duskshards for a "new" bounty thinking in what way does any of this feel new? lol
