I got myself a new TV to use as a monitor while playing Destiny 2 a couple days ago and I noticed that it has an HDR feature. Now as soon as that's turned on, the brightness becomes so strong that it burns my eyeballs with the fury of Shaxx and while the colors do look more vibrant it feels like everything has a white filter over it.
tl;dr: HDR makes everything look washed out, somehow the colors become more vibrant and yet look more bleak.

for now I find that the best solution is to bring both settings to 49 (or atleast just the black setting).

Yeah. Some people will give you links to ways to 'fix' it but... they really don't work. The worst problem is actually with the blacks: there are dozens, and realistically & without hyperbole maybe hundreds of areas where HDR makes everything pitch black. I have to let other people jump first in parkour sections like in Scourge and all, and enter many caves backwards to keep the light as a point of reference to determine where to go. It's a nightmare. Doesn't work with Destiny. Been an issue at least since Forsaken.

6 RepliesAlways been a problem. On PS4 its too dark if you use the settings tool. Destiny 2 is the only game in my collection with HDR that I have it disabled on. People on here will advise you to change the settings on your equipment but then it will affect other HDR games which, for me at least, work just fine.
